The largest country in North America by land, Canada is known for its untouched landscape, maple syrup, the Northern Lights, great road trips, and national parks.

From playing ice hockey to canoeing the rapids, hiking on mountain trails, and snowshoeing, Canadians enjoy being active. But did you know that Canadians also love yoga?

The 2019 Canadian Fitness Industry Trends Survey revealed that yoga continues to be a trend in the country. About 21% of Canadians practice yoga, whether they choose to do that at home or in a studio.

Furthermore, according to a study published by the Fraser Institute in 2017, yoga has seen the greatest increase (27%) among the types of complimentary and alternative medicine favored in Canada.

Canadians practice more yoga per capita than their southern neighbors. New studios seem to be opening each day coast-to-coast and there is no shortage of high-end retreats available in astonishingly natural settings.

Best of all, you don’t need to travel long haul to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with your mind, body, and soul. There are a lot of retreats available close to large cities offering programs for all skill levels and ranging from short getaways to longer stays. Thanks to this, you can go on a yoga retreat in Canada anytime you like, even over the weekend!

Note: BookYogaRetreats offers a flexible cancellation policy. Should you not be able to travel as scheduled, we’d be happy to help you alter your booking with the same organizer or with a different organizer.
