At their center, they welcome you with a well-founded teaching to reach your inner joy and become a great yoga teacher. Yogaji has 15 years of experience and is located in the beautiful mountain of south of France. You will learn asanas, pranayama, mediation, and mantras. More than a training, it is the chance to find the way to your heart and realize yourself as you are. To explore deeper practice or become an established yoga teacher, this retreat is for you. No matter your capacities or age, the teaching is adapted to your need as they welcome intimate groups (maximum 12). Your daily life and practice is rhythmed by community life like in an ashram. The center is comfy and homy and the teacher are available to your needs. They will encourage you to practice daily and to be light in the practice. The teaching is traditional and modern simultaneously as the goal is to implement yoga in your daily life. Yogaji lays great emphasis on bio-mechanics and pedagogy so to feel confident into teaching. As a personal path, it relates you to personal integrity, intention, and spirituality.
Instructions will be offered in English and/or French.
They always do their best to make you feel at home. You will be all here to grow in true yoga and not to have a holiday. The accommodations are comfortable and shared (apart for those who will use the tent) with a real mattress, good blankets, and a pillow. The sleeping area and the bathroom are shared.
It might be challenging for some students but it is a great way to practice detachment-aparigraha and improve your contentment capacity-santosha. Community life is the chance to grow together and have some fun. All is provided for a good sleep.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
You will have an early daily yoga practice while following the rhythm of the sun. After having lunch, you will be allowed to have some rest before continuing into deep awareness. Yogaji’s program can be viewed on the Yoga Alliance page under Durga-Ji yoga. Yogaji follows the standard of Yoga Alliance and enriches it through their experience.
The teaching is traditional and adapted to your needs. You will discover a dynamic way of teaching that is well connected to the source of Yoga. They introduce you to pranayama and mantra and let contemplation and meditation experience rise in you. The teaching is spiritual but also applicable to today's life and requirements. You will look into the traditional texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Yoga Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika. They encourage you to start reading when you can, so as to get ready. All is yoga.
The schedule may be modified if necessary and is just a guideline. Every week, there will be one day off.
During the course, they will encourage you to read the four classical texts of Hatha yoga. You will have days off and time to read. These texts are Gheranda Samhita, Yoga Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
At the end of the week, you will have a written exam that will test your knowledge about teaching and is a prerequisite for certification.
Yogaji requires their students to have attended a prior regular yoga class in a center. They also require students to read the books: Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, and some Yoga Upanishad.
Ceremony and rituals
Julie is the founder of Durga-Ji, Hatha Yoga Center, and of the Kids Yoga French Federation. Julie is an experienced yoga teacher. She has been running the center and conducting training courses since eight years ago. She devotes her life to yoga. After having followed the path of law, so to become a jurist, she finally chose the path of yoga to help people in perceiving consciousness. Her teaching combines true and traditional yoga with the interrogation of modern society. She welcomes you with warmth, love, joy, and presence.
You will be hosted in a small group of houses. They have a big garden where you can find upon the season fig trees, blackberries, grapes, chestnuts, and great landscape. There are two shared bathroom and 3 toilets but you can always go outside to enjoy cold shower in the garden. Sleeping in a hut in the mountain is also possible for the brave ones (no electricity, no water but great view).
The neighbors are French and are only three families. You will enjoy the peace of the mountain and the relaxed pure nature lifestyle of an ashram. Please no phone during lunch, yummy food, laugh and jokes to lift up the mood, study and practice, group discipline, and punctuality.

Yogaji invites you to cook daily when you are in the food seva. They change the seva regularly so that everyone has the chance to feed their friend one day. The meals are always vegetarian (which implies no animal). Upon request, it can be exclusively vegan or gluten free if you have a specific diet.
The food is always great, tasty, and lovely. Thanks to their past experience they include more vegetables, some snacking (fruits and nuts), and let the menu being a shared plan every time the request is manageable.
You are welcome to still bring your own snacks if you wish to share with others.

To arrive by train from the airport, you can take a train to Valence. Yogaji can pick you up at the bus from Duniere sur Eyrieux where Yogaji will pick you up for free to go to the center. If you arrive after the bus hours, Yogaji can pick you up from Valence ville train station (time as to be set with Yogaji) for free.
