Course information
Daily practice
Establish a core foundation with the daily practice of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga. Classes include detailed guided instruction and modifications for all levels. You will also practice pranayama and meditation to connect the body, mind, and spirit and create a holistic practice.
Workshops
Receive special workshops to deepen your skills. Learn about working with injuries, using props, giving adjustments, class design, and sequencing. Also get lectures on professional development, creating your own courses, and student-teacher relations.
Analytics
Examine the form, alignment, principles, and function of key poses from each category. Learn about their common foundation and how to build upon them to achieve advanced variations. Learn also how to modify poses for beginner students and accommodate students with special needs.
Anatomy and physiology
Gain a deeper understanding of the structures and principles underlying each movement and of yoga itself. See how specific muscles respond to the movements of the joints with biomechanics; how alterations of a pose can enhance or reduce effectiveness; how the spine, breathing, and body position are all fundamentally linked; and the various bodily systems.
Traditional philosophy
Cultivate an authentic yogic lifestyle through a deep understanding of traditional yoga philosophy. Topics include the Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, 8 limbs, chakras, nature of self/soul, Tantra, karma, and Ayurveda. In addition to readings and writing assignments, these modules include interactive lectures where students can share their thoughts and experiences to develop and grow.
Teaching assessments

The course content is derived from the following books, which you are encouraged to buy: Teaching Yoga by Mark Stephens, Hatha Illustrated by Martin Kirk, Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar, Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Bhagavad Gita and Vedas.
Instructors
Cody Pizer
Cody is a lead ULU Yoga trainer. He has been teaching yoga globally for several years and instructing multiple yoga teacher training as a lead and senior instructor. He has trained in India and Thailand on multi-style Vinyasa, Yoga, Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin teacher training, and attended multiple movements, anatomy, and meditation workshops throughout Asia. He has certifications in Aerial and SUP yoga. Additionally, he has several years of experience in Qigong, primal movement, contemporary dance, Calisthenic training, and a black belt in Taekwondo.
Manjeet Mathur
Manjeet started yoga and self-awareness path in 2009. He completed his 200-hour, 300-hour, yoga therapy modules 1 and 2 multi-style YTT with Parimukti Yoga in India. He also has certifications in meditation training and Iyengar yoga. Manjeet has taught 3000+ hours in 50-plus yoga and meditation teacher training specializing in Hatha yoga, meditations, practical yoga philosophy, chakras, pranayama, and more. He has a very human approach to yoga and believes in personalizing practices for everyone. Emotional awareness and making a light, playful space also is Manjeet's specialties.
Kehkashan Nadeem
Kehkashan has 20 years of yoga experience. Her first yoga training was more than 1000 hours long over a six-month period followed by three months of volunteer teaching in 2001. She has completed a 500-hour advanced yoga teacher training in Nepal, Hot yoga teacher training from Absolute Yoga Academy, advance teaching skills at the Yoga Expert Academy, Aerial yoga teacher training at ULU Yoga, and Sky yoga level 2 TT in Bali. She is a master at taking you through the paces, drawing connections between poses, giving you the confidence to try tricky things and get into advanced poses eventually.
Dr. Kalpana Karia
Since the age of 9, Kalpana started learning yoga from her father Dhanjibhai Khagram. After the age of 18, she went to London for her further studies in radiology. She always went to many yoga classes in London. After completing her studies in London, she went to India In Rishikesh and took an intensive yoga teacher training course at Sivananda Ashram. Yoga has always been her passion and she never stopped studying to update her knowledge up to today. From 1982 to 1986, she did a television series teaching yoga on the local Kenyan television and published her first book, Yoga For Health.
Janaina Mendes
Janaina has completed over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, including multiple 200, 300, and 800-hour YTTs. Other qualifications include Acro yoga, Aerial yoga, Thai Massage, Water Therapy, and Reiki. Her teachings focus on correct and safe alignment while empowering students to look inwards and expand their perceptions. She intends to create a space where students can develop a deep connection and understanding of themselves through a journey of love and compassion. Janaina’s calm, centred energy and teaching style facilitate a powerful depth to her classes.
Astri Nilantari
Astri is a Balinese yoga teacher, hailing from the spiritual centre of Bali, Ubud. She has experience in various styles of yoga, and has completed trainings in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, yoga therapy, and Acroyoga, amassing over 500 hours of trainings. Astri brings a depth of knowledge to her classes, and excels in guiding students to feel and open up the various energy pathways in their bodies. She helps students to find inner peace and the path to their healthiest selves through powerful teaching plans. She has an advanced yoga asana practice and Acroyoga practice too.
Caspian Burrell
Caspian completed his first 200-hour at Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Centre in India, specialising in Ashtanga and Hatha. He completed 50-Hour Fly High Aerial Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Indonesia. He has 60-Hour Traditional Thai Yoga Massage certification from Sunshine Massage School in Thailand. Caspian’s aim as a yoga instructor is to spread the traditional principles of yoga and leave students of all levels feeling peaceful, happy, and healthy after each session. Caspian teaches Acroyoga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Nidra, mindful, and flow in Bali, Indonesia and around the world.
Minty Nguyen
Minty (USA) has been teaching with ULU Yoga for several years. She completed 200-hour Vinyasa, 200-hour multi-style, and 100-hour Aerial yoga teacher training. Minty’s passion to share happiness and health led her down the path of healing. She further advanced her skills with certifications in Reiki II, craniosacral therapy, EFT therapy, Tantric massage therapy, and osteopathic yoga alignment. Minty teaches to inspire students to find their best selves and to understand and build connections between the mind, body, and spirit.
