The school endeavors to accommodate their wanderlust and be a courteous host. The school receives hundreds of students and guests every year and understands their different needs. In order to accommodate such ever-changing needs, they have amalgamated and constructed a modern yet ashram-like infrastructure.

The school has been set up in a way to offer a heightened idea of space and airiness and the infrastructure is simple and basic. But they never miss out on anything the students would require and for the same reason have a well-equipped campus.

Rooms are available on an individual or sharing basis with proper ventilation. When you practice yoga and meditation, you require space and the same has been kept under consideration. The rooms are ventilated, airy, spacious, and have a window, a coffee table, a cupboard and a bathroom attached. All other facilities like washing machine, internet etc. have been taken care of at the school.

Are you eligible for the yoga scholarship program?

All level yoga practitioners i.e., beginners, intermediate and experts can apply. If you are passionate to learn and know yourself and then share this ancient knowledge with others.

You are most welcome if you want to do research on yoga, its benefits for the human race, and those yogis who have embraced yoga for life. You are welcome to apply if you want to learn yoga to become a yoga teacher but struggle with finances. You must be well-disciplined throughout the month and attend 95% of the classes. You can apply if you are blank-head but open to learning new cultures and traditions.

Selection procedure

Without adding any high standards or tests, Akshi Yogashala requests the candidates who are interested in taking up the scholarship program to first fill out the form and in a few words mention the reason they would need the scholarship. Akshi Yogashala will filter the applications and award the scholarship to as many students as possible. Also, students who attain the scholarships should be passionate about yoga and should delicately do their work or research for which they are coming.

Vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free meals are provided throughout the training. If you have dietary restriction, medical needs or health conditions, please inform Akshi Yogashala about your needs well in advance. Pure filtered water is provided to the students.

Any yoga teacher training course is incomplete if enough focus is not laid on the food the practitioner is eating. Akshi Yogashala is committed to carry out all round growth of the students and with this intent they have undertaken Ayurvedic cooking methodologies.

Each body type varies from the other, while it is important to understand one’s constitution, the school extends holistic diet beneficial for all the students. Intensive workout requires balanced and invigorating diet and this is what the school commits to offer.

Light and healthy vegan food complementing the demands of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, the teachers emphasis of eating only ashram-cooked food. This is significant in detoxifying the body during your stay with them. Daily meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, juices and other needs if at all. The food is cooked by Ayurvedic chefs who come with experience of cooking such meals.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at New Delhi Airport (DEL), which is a most preferred way, but if there is a direct flight from your starting place to Jolly Airport at Dehradun (DED), that would be best. Dehradun Jolly Airport is around fifteen kilometers from Rishikesh. You can hire a taxi from the Jolly Airport.

You can hire a taxi from Delhi Airport or you can avail Akshi Yogashala transport package which covers the cost from Delhi airport to Rishikesh by taxi and back to Delhi airport after completion of the course. Rishikesh is six hours' drive from Delhi airport.

You can also opt for Volvo service from Delhi ISBT. However, bus travelling could cause inconvenience for the first time travelers. Another best option is railways. Take train for Haridwar from New Delhi Railway Station and from Haridwar there are many transport facilities available to reach Rishikesh.

If you have to put in for a night in Delhi, there are many hotels available including budgeted hotels in main market of Paharganj area that ranges from 10 to 20 USD.
