You will be hosted in a small group of houses and Yogaji always do their best to make you feel at home. You will be all there to grow in true yoga and not for having holidays only. The accommodations are comfortable but are still not a hotel. So according to your booking and availability, you will sleep in dorms.

A real mattress, good blankets, and a pillow will be provided. The sleeping area is shared. You are also sharing a toilet and a bathroom and you will have an extra dry toilet and an outside shower to enjoy the view. It might be challenging for some students but it is a great way to practice detachment-aparigraha and improve your contentment capacity-santosha.

Please no phone during lunch, silent breakfast, yummy food, laugh and jokes to lift up the mood, study and practice, group discipline, and punctuality.

Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®)

During the course, Yogaji will encourage you to read the four classical texts of Hatha yoga, which they will provide as a gift. They will also discuss The depth of Yogic Philosophy and take different texts as a reference. These texts are Gheranda Samhita, Yoga Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Gita and an overview over Vijnana Bhairava.

You will have days off and time to read. At the end of the course, you will enjoy having a small written exam, that will test your knowledge about the teaching. Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive the rare 500-hour certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

You will have an early daily practice with other students while following the rhythm of Yogaji studio. Around brunch time, you will be allowed to have some rest before you continue with your class. Yogaji’s program can be viewed on the Yoga Alliance page under Durga-Ji Yoga. Yogaji follows the standard of Yoga Alliance and enriches it through their experience. Their goal is to share unique gifts, that contain secrets that remain unspoken while giving you all the necessary knowledge as a yoga teacher.

Retreat location

This 500-hour yoga teacher training is located on a small mountain in Ardeche, South France, surrounded by some neighbors, forest, rivers, vineyards, and the sky. The neighbors are French and are only three families. Outside, they have a big garden where you will find fig trees, blackberries, grapes, and a great landscape. You will enjoy the peace of the mountain and the relaxed pure nature lifestyle of an ashram.

The food is daily prepared by those who are in the food seva. They change the seva regularly so that everyone has the chance to feed his friend one day. The meals are always a vegetarian (which implies no animal) meal, as it is very important to practice compassion with animals by not harming them, and to control one's own desire to eat meat especially for a teacher of yoga. Ahimsa-non violence means to accept not to kill a living being so to feed oneself. The food is always great, tasty, and lovely. You will be invited to share a mantra before the lunch so to celebrate this moment.
