Program
What to expect
On the day you check in, you will have access to sunset yoga, dinner, and meditation. On the day you check out, you can enjoy the morning yoga and breakfast. If you are coming straight from work, and want to check in later on the first night, there will still be plenty of sessions available and they will ensure you get the most out of the retreat.
There will be two yoga sessions a day from specialist instructors who are trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and other styles. The morning practice has a special sequence inspired by the 5 Tibetan Rites which have a rejuvenating effect on the body. The focus is improving your strength, stability, flexibility, and alignment. Each guest gets a free Structural Integration session, which can help you overcome any pains or mobility issues and learn how to get the most out of the retreat.
There will also be optional daily workshops on a variety of subjects, such as yoga philosophy, pranayama, specific yoga techniques, or the chance to try something completely new, like learning some Khmer or unlocking your creativity.
Every night, you have a meditation session. This may include mindfulness meditation, loving-kindness meditation, candle gazing, and other techniques designed to bring peace and clarity.
The teachers are familiar with teaching students of all levels, and they appreciate that people have many different reasons for attending a retreat. If you want to go deep, you can. If you just want to relax and unwind, that’s fine too!
Whether you are new to these practices or experienced and looking to improve, you will get a lot from this program if you have a sincere desire for inner growth.
Three vegetarian or vegan meals will be provided, as well as unlimited filtered water and locally sourced tea and coffee. Specialty teas, smoothies, kefir, and snacks will be available for purchase.
The program is not too intensive: you will have a big break in the day after lunch where you can relax in one of the local pools, hang out in the center, or take a tour of the local areas of natural beauty (the staff can arrange this).
Guests have a private room (couples can share at a discounted rate). All rooms have en suite bathrooms and modern facilities.
What is unique about The Yoga Palace?
The rooftop shala, protected from the elements, offers sunrise and sunset practice sessions that connect your yoga experience with nature’s rhythms. This setting creates a natural transition as you conclude your evening practice with the setting sun.
The center, owned by a local Khmer family, directly supports the Cambodian economy through sustainable tourism.
As a small retreat, The Yoga Palace provides individualized attention to each guest, adapting the instruction to accommodate all skill levels. You will receive a free structural integration session (which will help The Yoga Palace to make sure you get the most out of the retreat). The program combines structured yoga and wellness activities with free time, allowing you to customize your stay with extra practice sessions, treatments, local excursions, or quiet moments of reflection.
The Yoga Palace recognizes the diverse approaches to yoga practice—from its ancient spiritual heritage to its modern wellness applications—and welcomes practitioners at every stage of their journey. Their teaching emphasizes the core principles: mental clarity and physical well-being.
While yoga requires dedication, The Yoga Palace believes in creating a relaxed atmosphere. The retreat maintains a balance between focused practice and casual comfort, fostering an environment where learning happens naturally and laughter is welcome. This approach helps participants fully embrace the restorative benefits of yoga and meditation while feeling completely at ease.
What is Structural Integration?
Structural Integration (also known as Rolfing) is a form of hands-on bodywork that systematically addresses the body’s connective tissue or fascia. This specialized therapy aims to improve posture, flexibility, and movement patterns by releasing longstanding tension and restrictions in the body’s soft tissues.
During a session, a practitioner uses precise manual techniques to work with your body’s fascia—the web-like tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. Think of it as reorganizing the body’s internal structure to restore natural alignment and freedom of movement.
For yoga students, Structural Integration offers unique benefits:
- It helps you identify your body’s specific movement patterns and restrictions
- This information allows them to tailor your yoga practice more effectively
- The therapy itself can help release chronic tension that might be limiting your yoga practice
- Many students find they can access poses more easily after sessions
- The work provides insights into your body’s natural strengths and areas that need extra attention
The combination of Structural Integration with yoga practice creates a comprehensive approach to improving body awareness, movement, and overall physical well-being. The teachers use these insights to customize your yoga instruction, ensuring you get the most benefit from your time with you.
The retreat offers all guests a free structural integration session, which helps the team figure out what practices will be most beneficial for you. The retreat's main yoga teacher also integrates ideas from this powerful practice into his Hatha yoga classes.

The freedom to relax and explore
The daily program provides a transformative experience while still offering plenty of breathing space. Everyday after lunch, you have several hours to yourself where you can relax, journal, explore the local area, or visit some of the beautiful nearby attractions (which the team can arrange for you). Whether you want to go kayaking on the river or sip a mango shake by the pool at a local hotel, there is plenty of time.
In addition to the three meals each day that are included in the cost of the retreat, the kitchen offers additional snacks, smoothies, and specialty teas for purchase.
Local facilities
The retreat's next-door neighbor, The Village Inn, has a pool that you can access provided you buy food or drinks from their restaurant.
Another resort, only minutes away, offers two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, and a sauna.
There is also a minimarket within walking distance where you can stock up on any essentials you need.
Spa treatments
The Yoga Palace offers traditional Khmer massage (oil or regular) from a local specialist starting at 15 USD. Let The Yoga Palace know if you are interested.
One of the main attractions of the retreat is that they have an in-house ROLFing / structural integration therapist with over 25 years of experience. This is a very powerful treatment modality that releases pain and improves alignment and mobility by working on the fascia (connective tissue). The experience is like a sports / deep tissue massage but with far more technical skill to target the specific areas that are causing pain and blockages. It goes very well with Yoga since it will give you access to poses you may have previously struggled with. A session is 25 USD.
