Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Uttarkashi, situated on the bank of the river Bhagirathi. The temple offers a spectacular view of the river Bhagirathi along with the surrounding mountains. It is a part of many Char Dham Yatra itineraries, which helps pilgrims to visit this temple along with the famous Chardham.
Shakti temple
Devi Shakti Temple is in the courtyard of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The main attraction of this temple is a Trishul located there. It is believed and said about this Trishul that it has always been installed there.
There is no description of when it was established there, but many mythological stories related to it are popular. It is said that this trend is so special that no one can move it even with all their strength, and one can feel the vibrations in it by just touching it with a finger. This trident is very special, and it is believed to be the trident of Goddess Durga, which has been situated there since ancient times.
Vimleshwar Temple
Situated at the top of Varunavat Parvat. According to the Skand Puran, Lord Prasuram praised Lord Shiva at this place to cool down his anger. Lord Shiva was pleased with Lord Prashuram's prayer and, according to Prashuram's wish, decided to stay at this place in the form of a Shivlinga. Until then, this place was famous by the name of Vimleshwar Mahadev.
It is believed that the wishes of all those who go there are fulfilled. It's a beautiful temple between trees of devdar and pine. The temple's structure is compared with the Kedarnath temple. Hence, it's like mini Kedarnath.
