Activities:
2x Ayahuasca ceremonies
Ayahuasca ceremonies happen twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. As Paojilhuasca Amazonian Medicine Camp will have taken care to purify you well before the first intake, your first journey with the plant will take place in the best possible conditions.
1x kambo healing treatments
On your first day, Paojilhuasca Amazonian Medicine Camp will recommend a round of kambo, the venom extracted from an Amazonian frog. Kambo purifies and heals the body through a deep cleansing. The indigenous people do not consider kambo as a ceremony but rather a healing treatment. You will have the ability to have more treatments on other days if you feel the call to it.
2x mambè talking circles
On the evening of the day after each Ayahuasca ceremony, Paojilhuasca Amazonian Medicine Camp will hold a talking circle accompanied by mambé, a powdered coca leaf whose main virtue is to open the heart and free words. In this way, the circle will enable you to talk about, understand, and share what you experienced in the ceremony with the other participants, while strengthening your social ties.
Rapé (hapeh)
Rapé (Amazonian snuff) is a sacred shamanic medicine or tool, which has been used by tribes of the Amazon basin for thousands of years and is an essential part of their tribal culture and history. Rapé, like all the medicines, will be optional, but will be on offer for you to experience when you choose to.
1x yopo ceremony
Yopo is a powder made from the seeds of a Brazilian tree. Rich in DMT, you’ll experience a visionary journey lasting around one hour.
Welcoming floral bath
On the day of your arrival, you will have a floral bath with medicinal plants to welcome and settle you into the space, then a talking circle in the evening to connect with the community.
Medicine preparation
You will have the ability to learn and prepare your own Ayahuasca, collect your own kambo frogs at night, and learn the process of yopo.
Post-ceremony renewal
On the day after each ceremony, you will come together for energizing high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts, flushing out stagnant energy, and grounding the insights of the night before.
Morning Qigong
Each day will begin with movement, breath, and stillness. A centering practice will awaken your energy and prepare you for the deeper work ahead.
Direct shamanic guidance
Have a one-on-one connection with La Maestro and Don Gardel. This will be a chance to receive personal insight, support, and wisdom throughout your path.
Shipibo market
If the group size is large enough, a group of Shipibo women will go to the center to showcase their incredible handmade clothing, artwork, artisans, and talisman. You will also learn more about their culture.
Sananga
A liquid extracted from a Brazilian shrub that is applied to the eyes to encourage receptivity to the third eye, which you can use as you wish to.
Translation / guidance
You will receive full support and care throughout your stay in each and every avenue.
Kundalini dance meditation
The Kundalini meditation is a 60-minute practice with four different stages of 15 minutes each, accompanied by music that was originally composed for this meditation. The stages are shaking, dancing, standing or sitting in stillness, and relaxing. In the first stage, you will stand and shake your body for 15 minutes.
Yoga
Paojilhuasca Amazonian Medicine Camp offers yoga Nidra right before ceremonies to calm the nervous system. They also offer Yin yoga on Thursdays.
Preparation and integration guided breathwork
Conscious breathing is a powerful tool for shamanic journeys, preparing mind and body for safe, grounded exploration of deeper awareness. Breathwork aids post-ceremony integration by releasing blockages, processing insights, and supporting emotional healing for greater clarity and connection. You can explore this technique further with a qualified practitioner during your stay and afterward if desired.
Master plant dietas
For clients who wish to work in depth on themselves, the diet is highly recommended, as it provides an opportunity for a real and powerful connection with oneself, while opening the way to the true richness of Amazonian medicine.
This is your invitation to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with the timeless wisdom of the Amazon. Healing is waiting. The plants are waiting. Are you ready to answer the call? Book your Ayahuasca retreat in Iquitos now.

Instructors
Fabrizio Beverina
Fabrizio Beverina's background is in biomedical research. He was an expert in brain-computer interaction and emotional computing. He fled the scientific world and studied meditation in Asia. He spent 12 years in China and then travelled to Tibet and India to study with Tibetan Buddhist monks. He is currently conducting research on folk cures while maintaining a scientific perspective. He lived with several shamans in Colombia, Peru, and Brazil, where he learned a great deal about therapeutic herbs. Here, he also teaches meditation, chi-kung and helps make a variety of ancestral medicines.
Don Gardel angulo vasquez
Don Gardel is from a family of curanderos: his grandfather was one, and his two brothers are shamans as well. He learned ayahuasca from a Shipibo woman (la maestra Alicia) deep down on the river Momon. Now it’s 40 years that Don Gardel has been practicing this medicine. When he was a young man, he had the chance to go to work near Brasil where the Matses people live. There he learned to use kambo. This in combination with his experience and studies as a nurse make of Gardel one of the most famous Kambo healer of Iquitos.
Maestra Alicia
he term "Maestra" (which in this context refers to the teacher) is used to refer to Alicia, who was once Gardel's teacher. Her grandfather was a "tabacchero," a type of curandero who specialized in using tobacco for medical purposes. She was initiated when she was quite young. She has a lot of allies from her years of long-term dieting and extensive knowledge with plant-based therapies. People from the neighbouring villages travel to her for traditional treatments. She is a strong, yet tender woman who acts as a big mama to all of the patients.
