Accommodation
Gaia Oasis is a community-based, not-for-profit foundation created to care for both people and the land. Its purpose is simple and profound: to support well-being, preserve nature, and uplift the local community of Tejakula. From the moment you arrive, you are held by beauty. Palm trees sway in the ocean breeze. Gardens overflow with tropical flowers and birdsong. The sound of the waves becomes your background music.
The architecture blends gently into nature's open spaces, soft colors, and natural materials, creating a sense of simplicity, peace, and belonging. Many of the staff have been part of Gaia Oasis for years, and their kindness infuses the space with warmth and care. Guests can choose from private or shared accommodation. You stay in charming traditional-style bungalows, nestled among coconut palms and flowering gardens. Each bungalow is light-filled, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed for rest and restoration. Most rooms feature:
- Comfortable beds
- Natural furnishings
- Private outside bathroom where you can shower, looking at the stars
- Shaded verandah
- Garden or ocean views
- Gentle sea breezes and ceiling fans
It feels like living inside nature yet with comfort, softness, and privacy. You wake to birdsong. You fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. You breathe differently here.
Program
The connected human
Connection is a force that awakens a source of life within you that illuminates your mind, expands your heart, and grounds you in the reality of your life. When you connect with breath, body, and presence, you come home to yourself. You awaken the potency of your being, the Kundalini energy, the inner life force that brings direction, clarity, and overall health and well-being. This retreat is an invitation to return to that state of connection with yourself, with others, with the sacred nature of life, and with the unseen threads that weave everything together.
Optional Sacred Morning Sadhana
On 23rd, 25th, and 27th November, you are invited, if you wish, to join the early-morning spiritual practice from 5:00 to 7:30 a.m., a Kundalini Yoga sadhana including Japji, yoga exercises, and mantras. A beautiful way to deepen your experience.
A typical day
- 07:30 - 08:30 Morning yoga practice
A nourishing practice to awaken the body, open the breath, and soften the nervous system. Movement becomes meditation. You begin to feel connected, steady, grounded, alive.
- 08:30 - 09:45 Breakfast
Fresh, vibrant, nourishing food shared in community, sunlight, sea air, gentle conversations.
- 10:00 - 12:45 Workshop
The morning session weaves together breathwork, Kundalini yoga, and transpersonal teachings. This is where you explore the gateways of connection: breath, body, and presence. You will learn how to quiet the mind, to restore the heart, and to open to deeper states of awareness. There is space for silence. Space for expansion. Space for remembering who you are.
- 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch and integration
Rest. Nourish. Be still. Let the morning settle into your bones.
- 14:00 - 16:30 Free time
This is your time to swim in the saltwater pool, float in the ocean, nap, journal, drink tea, receive a massage, wander through the gardens, or simply sit with the silence. Healing happens in these soft in-between spaces.
- 16:30 - 18:30 Workshop
An evening session blending movement, meditation, reflective inquiry, spiritual teachings, nature-based processes, and gentle energy practices. Each day builds upon the last, creating inner alignment and deepening self-connection.
- 19:00 - 20:30 Dinner
Shared meals, gentle presence, the sweetness of community.
- 20:30 - 21:00 Evening practice and rest
A quiet closing practice invites you into stillness. You honor rest. Lights low. Softness.
- 21:00 Sleep - your body thanks you
Included excursions
As part of your retreat experience, you will participate in a traditional Balinese purification ceremony held at the sacred Tejakula Temple, an important spiritual center for the local community that dates back several centuries. The temple remains a living place of devotion, where generations of Balinese families gather for prayer, ceremony, and connection to ancestral traditions. Guided by two Balinese High Priests, this traditional water purification ritual symbolises cleansing, renewal, and spiritual reconnection. You are gently introduced to the prayer rituals and ceremonial practices, offering an authentic and respectful immersion into Balinese spiritual culture. All aspects of the experience are included as part of the retreat package, including:
- Transportation from Gaia Oasis to the temple and return
- All ceremonial offerings
- Guidance throughout the ritual process
This excursion offers a rare opportunity to experience the spiritual heart of Bali while participating in a meaningful practice of reflection, release, and renewal within a sacred community space.

Retreat location
Bali - The heart chakra of the earth
Meaningful Life by Aline Lage chose Bali as the place for this retreat because Bali is widely known as the Heart Chakra of the Earth, a land where spirituality is not separate from daily life. Here, devotion lives inside the mundane. Offerings are placed on the streets, incense rises from everywhere, and prayers flow into the rhythm of everyday living. There is no divide between the physical and the spiritual. Through a ritualistic culture, Balinese life is enriched by a sense of meaning. The kindness of the Balinese people, the generosity of spirit, and the island's subtle sacred energy support deep healing, awakening, and inner listening. Bali holds you gently and invites you to remember yourself.
Tejakula - The land of light
The retreat takes place on the peaceful northern coastline, in a village called Tejakula, whose name means “People of Light.” There is an ancient story here of a mysterious light appearing at the top of the mountain, illuminating the land and blessing the people. This light is still felt today, as an atmosphere of clarity, depth, and spiritual presence. Tejakula holds a unique place in Balinese history. It is known as a community where all people were regarded as equal without a caste system and you can feel this sense of openness and humility in the way the local people live and relate. The land here feels spacious. The ocean is calm and grounding. The mountains rise behind you, strong and protective. It is a place where the inner journey is quietly, powerfully supported.
