Hotel Tibet in Kathmandu

Hotel Tibet, a family-run boutique hotel, is one of Kathmandu’s few hotels that have blended traditional Tibetan designs with a touch of modern simplicity. The facilities and amenities blend contemporary design with traditional Tibetan motifs to provide a unique and comfortable stay.

Monastery in Pokhara

All rooms offer a very high standard of cleanliness and presentation, combining modern comfort with traditional Nepalese charm. There is free onsite parking, room service, a laundry service, and a very friendly staff team, who can help and advise with travel arrangements, trekking, tour information, and local events and festivities.

Hotel residents are welcome to join morning prayer and to visit the Monastery. On arrangement, one can also observe classroom teachings and philosophical debates and attend a Tibetan Buddhist class.

Program

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation after your journey. In the evening, you have the option to visit Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can take in panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and witness the peaceful spiritual atmosphere. You may choose to participate in a small prayer session or light candles, experiencing the spiritual serenity of this iconic landmark.

Day 2: Sunrise yoga, meditation, and spiritual exploration

Start your day with a guided yoga and meditation session in the early morning, designed to bring balance to your mind and body. Afterward, enjoy a visit to some of the most important temples and monasteries in Kathmandu. This includes Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples, and the Boudhanath Stupa, a spiritual centre for Tibetan Buddhists. After the visit, the day concludes with a meditation session and prayer, reflecting on the teachings and spiritual insights from the morning’s experiences.

Day 3: Namo Buddha Monastery

Your morning begins with light yoga and meditation to deepen your spiritual practice. After breakfast, travel to the serene and spiritually significant Namo Buddha Monastery, an ancient Buddhist site located on a peaceful hilltop. This sacred place is associated with a profound Buddhist legend and offers a tranquil retreat for reflection and prayer. Spend the day exploring the monastery, meditating, and immersing yourself in the spiritual atmosphere. In the evening, participate in guided meditation, mantra chanting, and prayer to end the day with peace and gratitude.

Day 4: Immersing in the tranquillity of Namo Buddha

Begin your day with the monastery’s serene energy. After breakfast, take time to engage with the monks, learn about Buddhist philosophy, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You may take a silent nature walk around the monastery, allowing the quiet beauty of the landscape to deepen your practice. In the afternoon, participate in a Dharma talk or meditation session led by a monk, offering insights into Buddhist teachings and mindfulness. The evening concludes with prayer, mantra chanting, and reflection, reinforcing the sense of inner stillness and gratitude cultivated during your stay.

Day 5: Drive to Kathmandu and fly to Pokhara

After breakfast at Namo Buddha, you will drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying scenic views of Nepal’s countryside along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, have lunch and take a short break before heading to the airport for your flight to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, settle into the serene lakeside environment. Spend the afternoon exploring Lakeside Pokhara, taking a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. In the evening, wind down with a guided meditation session, reflecting on your transition from the spiritual retreat at Namo Buddha to the natural beauty of Pokhara.

Day 6: Deepening your practice and giving back

Start your day with yoga and pranayama as the sun rises over the Himalayas. After breakfast, drive to the Pema Tsal Monastery and engage in volunteering work at a local school or community project, contributing to education, environmental conservation, or social initiatives that benefit the local people. In the evening, come together for meditation, prayer, and gratitude practice, appreciating the impact of your contributions and the lessons learned from the local community.

Day 7: Return to Kathmandu

Begin your final morning in Pokhara with a peaceful yoga and meditation session, absorbing the beauty of your surroundings. After breakfast, fly back to Kathmandu, where you will have free time to explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or rest and reflect on your transformative journey. In the evening, participate in a closing meditation session, setting intentions for your continued spiritual growth beyond Nepal.

Day 8: International departure
