How the course works
This is a self paced course that can be done anywhere in the world in your own time. This course can be done in the comfort of your own home. There will be weekly live Q and A sessions, one-to-one session with Sammy, and access to their Facebook community. Live sessions will be held via Zoom.

All times are based on BST (GMT +1) during Summer and GMT for session/s after October 26th, 2025. Weekly live Q and A sessions are at 10 am GMT, adjusted by participant location.

These practices will support you not only during birth but also in the first few weeks of motherhood—and even into parenting teenagers!

Pregnancy content
Yoga for pregnancy
- 12 yoga practices across the 3 trimesters: 3 flows per trimester, 1 Restorative practice per trimester
Meditations for pregnancy and birth preparation
- 10 guided meditations to support emotional wellbeing, intuition, connection, and birth readiness
- 6 breathing practices for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum (to ground, energize, release fear, manage intensity, and restore)
- 3 yoga Nidra sessions (1 per trimester) to support subconscious transformation and deep rest
Postpartum content
- 3 meditations to support recovery, bonding, and emotional processing
- 1 pelvic floor recovery foundational exercise to initiate healing and reconnection with the pelvic floor
Postpartum yoga flows
- 3 gentle 20-minute flows designed for early postpartum recovery, breath, and reconnection
Course modules (9 in total)
- Self-care during pregnancy: Nutrition, daily rituals, grounding practices, and emotional nourishment
- Birth physiology: Understanding the natural, holistic stages of labor and the hormonal dance of birth
- Shapes and sounds of labor: Movement, labor positions, use of props (birth ball, rebozo), and vocal toning
- Tools for a natural birth: Birth environment, preparation toolkit, breathwork, and pushing techniques
- Birth choices: Making an empowered plan: Birthplace options, informed consent, medical interventions, C-sections, and understanding the cascade of intervention
- Directly after birth: Placenta delivery, cord cutting, Vitamin K, and The Golden Hour of bonding
- Birth partners: The role of the partner or support person, emotional and practical tools, communication, and presence
- Celebrating this rite of passage: Birth as initiation, ceremonial practices, journaling, and reclaiming your story
- The fourth trimester: Rest, recovery rhythms, breastfeeding, pelvic floor support, postpartum nutrition, and nervous system healing

Instructors
Sammy Cousins
Sammy is a yoga teacher and birth doula, specializing in Vinyasa, Hatha, Ayurveda, Yin & Prenatal/Postnatal yoga. She has been practicing since the age of 18 and has studied and taught in the UK, Peru & Bali. She also hosts weekly women’s circles, which include meditation, yoga Nidra, singing, and sharing in a safe feminine space. Her passion is in supporting women through yoga to bring self-awareness to help guide them through transitional times. Her classes are a mixture of dynamic, creative, calming and grounding, using the body and breath to cultivate stillness and clarity within the mind.
