Accommodation
The Margaret River Beach Resort is spacious and comfy and right next to Gnarabup Beach. You will stay in a twin-share accommodation and enjoy all the comforts of this beautiful Margaret River location, including a pool, sauna, and yoga studio.
Program
You will be picked up and dropped off in Perth so you do not have to drive, park, clean windscreens, or get fuel. Daily yoga practice is soulful, uplifting, and balanced. You will only do two yoga sessions in the mornings of days two and three. The yoga is accessible to all levels. You do not have to attend every session. Some sessions will be more energising and some relaxing. On the drive back, you smile ear to ear, chat happily with new friends, and scroll through the hundreds of pics and cheesy selfies you took, feeling relaxed like you have onot done in ages. You will get home feeling like the healthiest, most centered, and satisfied person on the planet.
Daily itinerary
Day 1: Moses Rock - Wilyabrup: Drive Perth to Margaret River (300 kilometers; walking distance: 7.5 kilometers)
Edgewalkers picks you up in Perth and drives down to Moses Rock on the Cape to Cape. Walk over clifftops whilst looking down over the densely vegetated dunes to take in magnificent views north and south. There are lots of flowers throughout this section in the spring. Stretch at the spectacular Wilyabrup cliffs and enjoy lunch over the rugged coastal scenery.
Day 2: Ellensbrook to Rivermouth (10.2 kilometers)
You start at the Ellensbrook Homestead, walk to the top of the ridge through a winding track lined with acacias and peppies and many other plant species. Enjoy the vast views of the Indian Ocean and the soft, white sand of Kilcarnup beach before you make your way across the Margaret River Rivermouth carpark.
Day 3: Redgate to Boranup Forest (10 kilometers) and drive back to Perth (300 kilometers)
Walk from Redgate Beach through Bob’s Hollow with spectacular views over popular Conto’s beach. Hike low coastal heath, granite outcrops, forest, and beach sands immersed in so much floral diversity. Boranup Forest is a magical place with fungi, flowers, and majestic Karri, Marri, Jarrah, Banksia, and Grasstrees.
Included excursions
You will walk three sections of the Cape to Cape track with experienced guides. They are friendly, carry snacks, tea, and coffee, and know the way. During the walks, you are blown away by the ocean views, native plants, squeaky clean beaches, limestone paths, granite headlands, fresh air, and how good it feels to be out in nature. The walks are long enough to feel a sense of achievement but not so long that you need help to get back in the van. The guides are kind, thoughtful, encouraging, and focused on you having the best and safest experience. Every day you visit different artists studios and enjoy one of the most popular events in Western Australia.
The sections they choose to walk for this mini-retreat are easily accessible to anyone with a moderate level of fitness. The longest distance is 10 kilometers and so about three to four hours walking. The terrain is varied, some sandy sections, some sandstone and granite outcrops with rocky uneven ground, so steepish walking up and down the ridge but generally the sections you cover in the program are very accessible. There is sand, as it is a coastal walk and when you do the whole walk, there are about 25 kilometers of sandy beach; the longest are about seven kilometers each.
But over three days, you will not be tackling any of the long sections of beach. So you will walk on sand on some short sections of beach, on the track and in the forest, but generally you probably will not notice how sandy it is because you will be so enthralled by the wildflowers and the views. You will have a chance to see wildflowers, and they will make plenty of stops for you to admire and photograph them.
- Day 1: 7 kilometers
- Day 2: 10 kilometers
- Day 3: 7 or 10 kilometers
