Prerequisites

It is recommended that students have at least a basic level of proficiency in order to perform at their best during the training program.

About the training

Bhakti Yoga School's goal is to help you integrate your practice and transformation so that you can teach others. Join them at one of the few yoga ashrams outside of India that maintains Vedic traditions and the lineage of teachers and students. Inspired by Mystical India and daily programs of kirtan (mantra musical meditation) and Vedic philosophy taught by the master who has studied and practiced for over 30 years. This inward journey will lead you to a deeper understanding of yourself, your talents, and how to serve the world fully and with greater happiness. The 500-hour yoga teacher training consists of 200 hours and 300 hours, each divided into three progressive phases that support a natural process of learning, integration, and teaching.

What will you learn?

In the 200-hour yoga training, you use the dynamic structure of Ashtanga Vinyasa to generate internal heat and purification - a solid foundation for transforming the body, mind, and spirit. You complement this practice with the “Universal Principles of Alignment” from Anusara Yoga, which bring grace, precision, and a deeper connection to the heart in each posture. This combination allows students to experience yoga not only as a physical discipline but as a sacred expression of inner awareness and personal discovery.

  • Daily meditation and pranayama for focus, presence, and nervous system regulation
  • Bhakti yoga through mantras, devotional chanting (Kirtan), and sacred ritual
  • Introduction to Vedic philosophy: Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, and yogic teachings to help you understand your dharma and the unique gifts you have to offer
  • Vedic astrology: Use your birth chart as a sacred map for self-realization and spiritual alignment
  • Human design: Discover your energetic blueprint, aura type, and how to align with your natural way of making decisions
  • Ayurveda: Learn the foundational principles of this ancient system of healing, including daily routines (dinacharya), self-care, seasonal balance, and understanding your constitution (dosha)
  • Living yoga: Integrate yogic theory into daily life through lifestyle, intention, and community
  • Karma yoga: Experience the power of selfless service as a spiritual practice

The 300-hour advanced training from teachers who offer a complete and comprehensive immersion in the vast wisdom of yoga is designed to refine your teaching, deepen your personal practice, and expand your understanding of yoga as a lifestyle. This 300-hour training course is ideal for teachers or advanced practitioners seeking to deepen their knowledge and spirituality:

  • Advanced asana and alignment: Safely explore peak poses, arm balances, deep backbends, and inversions with biomechanics and anatomy-based awareness
  • Yoga therapy and Restorative practices: Learn to prevent and address injuries, adapt yoga for different bodies and needs, and integrate chakra therapy and therapeutic sequencing
  • Yin and Restorative yoga: Cultivate stillness and healing with practices designed for nervous system regulation and emotional balance
  • Anatomy and subtle energy systems: Study the physical and energetic anatomy of the body, including chakras, nadis, prana, and marma points
  • Philosophy and sacred texts: Dive deeply into the Bhagavad Gita and other key yogic texts with a teacher who has over 35 years of ashram life and study. Explore yoga’s spiritual foundations through Bhakti philosophy, weaving timeless wisdom into modern practice.
