Villa Isabel is set within a 2,200-square-meter, park-like Mediterranean garden with mature pine trees, olive trees, and a wide variety of local plants, shrubs, and herbs. Shaded areas with hammocks invite rest and quiet time, while a saltwater swimming pool and a spacious outdoor area with sunbeds offer space to relax between sessions.
The villa offers four fully equipped apartments, each with its own bathroom and kitchen, exclusively for retreat participants. Three apartments feature two separate bedrooms, allowing you to choose either a private single room or a shared double room within the apartment. The fourth apartment is a studio suitable for one to three people.
Program
Overview
Each morning begins with an Athayoga for Longevity session in the beautiful seminar room of Villa Isabel. The practice is designed to nourish body and mind and to support long-term vitality through intelligent sequencing, joint care, breath awareness, and nervous system regulation.
After the morning practice, you prepare a nourishing, longevity-supportive brunch together. This shared ritual is an essential part of the retreat, reflecting yogic principles of mindful nourishment, rhythm, and conscious daily living.
In the early afternoon, you integrate daily walking sessions as a gentle yet effective longevity practice to support circulation, mobility, and mental clarity. Time for swimming in the sea, resting by the pool, or relaxing in the garden allows the practices to settle before the afternoon program continues.
Every afternoon is dedicated to further Longevity Yoga practice and a little bit of theory. These sessions help you deeply understand how Athayoga for Longevity works and how to integrate it sustainably into everyday life. The focus is practical, embodied, and designed for long-term application rather than short-term intensity.
The retreat is guided by experienced yoga teacher and yoga book author Isabella Welsch, who leads the week with clarity, depth, and carefully structured classes for committed practitioners seeking a refined, longevity-oriented approach to yoga.

Practice and approach
This retreat focuses on longevity — the science and art of living well, healthy, and resilient for as long as possible. Through carefully selected yoga postures, functional movement, breathing techniques, and meditative practices, the sessions aim to ground, nourish, and energize you.
The practice can be physically engaging at times, while always offering options for different levels. Most postures allow you to choose between gentler or more challenging variations. This is not about competition, but about listening inwardly and finding what serves you best in each moment.
Participants should be in average physical and psychological health. Please inform Atha Yoga Seminarhaus in advance of any medical conditions or injuries.
Included excursions
Once during the week, the morning practice will be shortened and replaced by a mindful coastal walk to a stunningly beautiful, largely untouched beach. Along the way, we take in the natural rhythm of the coastline before resting, swimming in the sea, and enjoying our prepared lunch packages in a quiet, natural setting.
Instructors
Isabella Welsch
Isabella Welsch has been teaching yoga since 1990 and brings a strong interdisciplinary background to her work. Alongside her long-standing teaching practice, she worked for many years as a psychotherapist in Vienna. In recent years, her focus has shifted toward the science of longevity, resulting in the development of Athayoga for Longevity. This approach translates current longevity insights into practice by refining five fundamental daily actions: breathing, movement, nutrition, sleep, and mental clarity.
Retreat location
Altafulla is a charming Mediterranean coastal town on the Costa Dorada that has preserved its authentic, slow-paced character. Divided into a historic old town with narrow streets and a small castle, and a seaside area with a wide, sandy beach, Altafulla offers a rare balance of culture, nature, and calm.
Nearby, guests can explore Roman heritage sites such as the UNESCO-listed Villa Romana dels Munts, swim in clear, shallow waters, enjoy coastal walks, or relax in local cafés and small restaurants. The area is known for its protected pine forests, gentle climate, and a peaceful atmosphere that supports rest, focus, and regeneration.
