It is customary to tip in India. The exact amount to tip in restaurants, for example, depends on the place, occasion, and order size. Some places do include a service tax of 10-15%. When it comes to other services, you can tip your private guide or driver at most 5 EUR/USD per day. And no need to tip luggage porters more than 1 EUR/USD.
