Program
Plan for five days of guided cycling, six sessions of meditation and mindful movement, and six sessions of yoga. This retreat is designed to rejuvenate both body and mind, offering the perfect blend of physical activity and relaxation. Whether you're an avid cyclist or a yoga enthusiast, you'll find the experience enriching and fulfilling.
There will be a day off for further riding, resting, or culture. Everything will be optional, and there will be so much scope to do as much or as little as you wish to.
There are exemplary tarmac routes, but the gravel rides in this area are seriously undiscovered. The venue can also offer superb, beautifully maintained road, gravel, and electric bikes to rent.
No one will get left behind. Yoga with Emma has rides to suit every ability and everyone's idea of a good day in the saddle. The yoga is also curated around the needs of cyclists and athletes; however, Emma is keen not to dilute the teachings of the tradition. Seasoned yoga practitioners will still find inspiration and meaningful opportunities to practice intensively throughout the retreat.
Yoga
Yoga with Emma will offer daily practices of meditation to begin your days intentionally and mindfully. The yoga asana sessions will be designed around the needs of the cyclist, but would also suit non-cycling partners. Tired legs, tight shoulders, and backs can greatly benefit from the cross-training benefits of yoga, aiding recovery and ensuring that you can continue to enjoy your cycling the next day.
Seasoned yogis can be reassured that the yoga teachings are never diluted. They, too, will enjoy inspirational insights and plenty of meaningful time on the mat. This will be a genuine retreat, with the option of cycling.
This holiday is suitable for those who are already established in their yoga practice. It is not really designed for the complete yoga beginner. If you are new to yoga, Yoga with Emma recommends that you try a beginner's course in the months prior to attending this holiday. You’ll get so much more from it as a result.
The yoga practice will be designed to complement your day. The morning sessions will incorporate meditation and asana so as to begin your day intentionally. There will also be breathwork and Restorative classes in the evening.
Yoga with Emma's training and practice of Sivananda, Ashtanga, and Iyengar yoga ensures spiritual space, flowing transitions, and clarity. There will be something for everyone and everybody, and whilst the physical needs of cyclists are curated into the practice, they will not dilute the essential teachings of yoga. The practice will be held either alfresco at the Dutch barn or at the main house.
- 4 daily morning sessions - 60 minutes
- 4 evening Restorative sessions - 90 minutes
Cycling guide
There will be the possibility of two cycle groups to accommodate the different concepts of a good day in the saddle. Stephen Goodier is a keen triathlete and cyclist with a great pedigree in mountain cycling. Emma will facilitate a slower group who perhaps enjoys stopping a little more often to enjoy the views.
The key is that no one gets left behind. The advent of e-bikes also ensures this. Having two groups will allow everyone to have a great day. Yoga with Emma caters for most abilities of cyclists. They will guide two rides each day - one short and one longer. You, of course, will have the option of riding independently, and they can help and advise on great local routes. You can cycle as much or as little as you'd like to.
Bike rental
Bike hire is possible at the villa, with a fleet of Cervelo R3 road bikes, gravel bikes, or electric bikes to fit all sizes. Rococobra Cycling also has high-end bikes for rent. These are either road, gravel, or touring e-bikes. Yoga with Emma does tend to encourage everyone to hire gravel bikes, as they give really interesting route options that avoid any busy stretches of road.
This starts at 75 EUR a day but drops to 55 EUR a day for six days' hire. Alternatively, you can bring your own bike.

Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is the most straightforward airport to fly to and is only 35 minutes from the venue. Car hire is cheap from the airports, and guests may choose this option so as to make the most of their day off to go sightseeing.
