Accommodation
The history of the house goes back to 1539, when the house first appeared in the official records of Pego town hall. Fransesc Miralles was the original owner. The Miralles family was wealthy farmers, and the house passed down from generation to generation until the 18th Century. The house was then taken over by several different owners until it came into the possession of Antonio Lloret Sarlanga in 1906. He was commonly known in the region as Monsieur Antoine because, as a child, he was sent to Paris to study the art of tailoring and sewing. He eventually became the official tailor to the Spanish Royal Court. He was also an extremely popular artist.
On his passing away, his sister Verònica Lloret Sarlanga inherited the beautiful house, and since then, the house has been lovingly known locally as Casa Verònica. Casa Verònica has been lovingly restored. The house has seven rooms in total and seven bathrooms: four have queen-size beds and are for individual use, and three rooms have twin single beds and are for sharing. Some rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and others have adjacent bathrooms. The shala where you will be having your yoga classes is around a 10-minute walk away, and the massage treatment center is around a five-minute walk away.
The house is also only a short walk away from the local mountains. In fact, each room in the house is named after one of the mountains surrounding the town. There is a communal guest kitchen for preparing snacks between mealtimes and classes, and there are areas for sitting and for dining. Your training will take place in a local shala, which is only a few minutes' walk away, and when possible, outside in the sunshine. Evenings and free time are ideal for students to explore the surrounding area and enjoy tapas or a walk in the beautiful historic town.

Program
Set in the heart of the historic town of Pego, in the beautiful Valencia region of Spain, "Cultivating Life" is a course devoted to living well - blending yoga-inspired practice, natural movement, breathwork, meditation, philosophy, and the Chinese internal arts within a calm, plant-based environment. Surrounded by mountains, orange groves, and the nearby Mediterranean coast, Pego offers an authentic rhythm of life where practice unfolds gently rather than being rushed. The small-group format creates a supportive space where each person can work at their own level, developing strength, stillness, and deeper awareness through simple, grounded daily practice.
Whether you come for movement, reflection, or a deeper understanding of yourself, the intention remains the same: to cultivate clarity, resilience, and a more joyful way of living. Yoga Sutra Shala would love to meet you and to teach you here in the beautiful Pego Valley. Many people arrive here feeling tired, scattered, or simply needing space to reconnect with themselves. The cultivating life course is designed as a calm, structured week that helps you step away from everyday pressure and rediscover a steadier rhythm. Each day combines:
- Breathing practices to calm the nervous system
- Yoga-inspired movement and internal arts
- Functional strength and natural movement
- Anatomy workshops to understand your body
- Meditation and philosophy
- Time in nature in the mountains around Pego
The intention is not intensity or performance. It is clarity, strength, and balance - practices you can take back into everyday life. Groups are intentionally small (maximum 10 participants) so the atmosphere remains quiet and personal. A blend of traditional yoga, internal arts, and clinical health science - shared through simple, grounded practice.
Itinerary
Each day follows a gentle rhythm of breath, movement, learning, and stillness - balanced with spacious breaks to rest, explore nature, or enjoy personal practice. On Sunday at 4:00 p.m., your course begins with a welcome, some delicious, healthy, organic snacks, and introductions to your fellow students. After this, you will be shown to the nearby private yoga shala where you practice, the nearby countryside, as well as having some time to settle in. Each day unfolds with intention - a balance of movement and stillness, study and silence, nourishment and reflection.
There is structure, but not rigidity. Depth, but not pressure. You are guided through a rhythm designed to strengthen the body, steady the mind, and cultivate a more grounded way of living. This is not about doing more. It is about living well - for a day, and beyond. The schedule offers structure without pressure - balancing guided sessions with spacious pauses so you can move at your own pace. The course ends on a Friday at 11:00 a.m.
