The cozy rooms of the Alpen Retreat are inspired by the themes and cultures the owners have encountered on their travels and have been tastefully combined with the traditional Tyrolean style. On your room's terrace overlooking the Fernpass valley and the adjacent Zugspitz Arena, you can enjoy the sun all year round thanks to the house's southern exposure.
After a day on the slopes or a hike through the alpine forests, you can relax in the traditional Stube with its beautiful wood paneling and traditional farmhouse tiled stove. And if you want to experience tranquillity on a whole new level, you can attend more yoga and meditation classes as well as the nearby thermal baths.
Program

Instructors
Elly Eisenbeutl
When she was in her late teens, Elly Eisenbeutl started her spiritual work by training in massage and healing. Her first teacher training in yoga was with the Sivananda School in Kerala, India, in 2003. Since 2012, she has been living at the Alpen Retreat and can share in many ways the rich and varied influences that have led her on her spiritual journey. The most fulfilling work for her is through teaching yoga, giving massage or healing, and helping to lead bhajan (devotional singing) circles.
Wolfgang Eisenbeutl
Wolfgang was first exposed to the yoga tradition at the age of 17 as he traveled in 2001 with Jan Tomas, the co-founder of the Alpen Retreat. This has greatly expanded his horizons, though it was not yet the time to start with the practice of yoga and spirituality. Many years of spiritual "exploration" followed this time. Spiritual singing and music are two of his great passions and are a major influence in his teachings as well as his personal experiences in various traditions such as Kriya yoga, Hatha yoga, Tantra yoga, Hridaya yoga, Buddhist meditation, psycho-spiritual work, and shamanism.
Retreat location
The Alpen Retreat is located on the Fernpass, a major pass through the Alps, on the Via Claudia Augusta, a historic Roman road used by countless travelers, including Napoleon on his march to Italy. At 1200 meters above sea level, the 500-year-old former manor house blends seamlessly into a mountain panorama of pine forests, craggy peaks, and crystal-clear Alpine lakes.
