7 Days Detox and Yoga Retreat in UK

  • Vital Detox Retreat, Wick Ln, Glastonbury, Somerset BA6 8JW, United Kingdom

Glastonbury Yoga Retreat UK

Grab the opportunity to purify your body and cleanse all the toxins to make way only for the healthy goodness to fill you in this detox and yoga retreat brought to you by Vital Detox. Set in the idyllic countryside in Glastonbury, this retreat will help you feel good in the inside with carefully prepared detox program. Leave the unhealthy lifestyle that is keeping your from being your best self and join this retreat to resurrect all the goodness that has always been inside your body!

Why you should detox

Why detox? Because when you stop eating your body has a chance to put all its available energy into cleansing, energy that is usually spent digesting and assimilating food. As soon as you start your fast your body will take the opportunity to clean out toxins that have accumulated in the cells and organs of your body.

Toxin build-up

Toxins are stored in the body, not just from food and drink, but also as a result of taking prescription and recreational drugs, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. Also, the use of cleaning products and cosmetics, exposure to environmental pollutants and suppressed emotions can contribute to ill health. Prolonged stress can leave the body adrenally exhausted which, in turn, affects the whole hormonal balance of the body. This toxic build up is gradual, accumulative and can make us ill and deplete our energy, leaving us looking and feeling unhealthy.

Pippin is a standard shared cottage which has three bedrooms, a shared living room, kitchen and bathroom. It is warm, comfortable and near to the communal areas and pool. The downstairs room has a small ensuite but shares the main bathroom for the colemas.

Springfield is the mirror image of Pippin and has roughly the same accommodation except that the ensuite room is a twin rather than a double. The prices are the same and this cottage is dog friendly if you have a small, well behaved dog you cannot bear to leave behind!

Meadow Barn

This is one of the loveliest shared cottages with two sets of Drench doors giving separate access to the accommodation. The living room and kitchen are really homely with stunning views across to the Mendips. There is a wood burning stove, TV and DVD player in the living room and a big shared bathroom. The bedrooms are light and spacious making it a really lovely place to spend your detox holiday.

Orchard View

Orchard View is a two bed cottage has two ensuite bathrooms so you can share a cottage and have complete privacy and the luxury of your own bathroom. This cottage has also just been renovated and has a new kitchen and comfy living room. Every window looks out into the beautiful gardens and orchards and beyond to The Tor. Orchard View is heated by a new biomass boiler so it is easy to control the heat to ensure that you are warm and snug in your cottage so you can completely relax and enjoy your holiday. Naughty goats, horses and roving chickens are also included for free in the view.

Blemheim is a lovely two bed cottage that has just been completely renovated including a fabulous new bathroom. There is a single and a double room (as seen in the photo) and a really big sitting room to relax in. The single room has lovely views across the garden and beyond and the double looks to the front across the Mendip Hills. Both are single occupancy.

Adam and Eve - the E-Dens. These are the latest thing in Glamping. Brand new, very modern, totally unique and absolutely perfect for really getting away from everything. They are situated in the orchard with an incredible view up to the Tor. Each one is totally private and has its own beautiful, and personal, bathroom just yards away from your Den. They do not have TV or wifi so you can really escape from it all! They are very near the group room so your juices, classes and friends are not far away (and Wi-Fi if you need it).

The Annexe

The Annexe is a wonderfully big, light, airy and characterful cottage. It has a flagstone floor in the living room as well as a wood burning stove and a supply of wood to feed it with. It also has TV, DVD player and Wifi as well as a lovely new kitchen and very comfortable, spacious bedroom. We have priced this cottage down as it only has a shower and a rather small bathroom. There is a sunny courtyard outside with tables as well as a big table inside to work on if you absolutely have to! Perfect for time on your own or for couples sharing.

Cider House

This is another lovely cottage with many original features and lovely views. It has a big kitchen/living room - again with TV and DVD player and Wifi. The upstairs bedroom has a double bed as well as a single so is perfect for two friends sharing or couples who enjoy their own space! The newly refurbished bathroom is ensuite. A very popular cottage.

Apple Tree

This gorgeous little cottage has been completely refurbished throughout and is the perfect place to get away from everything. It has a lovely bathroom, comfy bedroom and really warm and snug living room with TV and DVD player and Wi-Fi. The stable door completes its cute, country hideaway appeal.

Bramley is a big, one bed cottage so that you can enjoy complete privacy as well as peace and quiet and yet still be near to all the activities and facilities. It has just been renovated with brand new bathroom and a lovely double room overlooking the garden, orchard and the countryside beyond. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and have some time to yourself, or with your partner.

Tor View

Tor View is a gorgeous one bed chalet which has big, light rooms, its own private sun deck and garden, living room with TV, DVD and Wi-Fi and a wood burning stove. As the name suggests it has amazing views up to Glastonbury Tor and across the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Guests are lucky to have Julie on the team who will be providing a relaxing and therapeutic yoga class every day. She will draw on her considerable experience to enhance your week with gentle, yet powerful, yoga poses and breathing exercises. Her classes are specifically designed to work on the abdomen and to aid the detox process. She is a wonderful teacher who enables everyone to go at their own pace.

Colonics, meditation and health talks

Each bathroom is set up with a colonic board and gravity colonic irrigation equipment (also known as colemas). The organizers recommend one a day but if you feel the need you can always have more. Guests are lucky enough to have Fiona on the team, an experienced colonic hydrotherapist and detox consultant. She will show everyone individually how to use the colema equipment and be on hand to answer questions and adjust supplements throughout the week.

Fiona is here to ensure you get the best possible detox and to look after your physical health and wellbeing. She will also be leading meditation in the mornings to enable you (should you so wish) to reconnect with an inner sense of peace and stillness that our busy lives can sometimes mask.

In her daily nutritional discussions, she will be for sharing her knowledge to help you discover which foods will give you optimum health and energy. These nutritional and health talks will also help you form a nutritional plan to take away with you, specifically tailored to your lifestyle, so that you can make positive changes to your diet and easily stick to them!

Emotional detox

Vital Detox also recognizes that detoxing is not just a physical thing - what you think and feel has been proven to actually affect your cellular structure. Prolonged negative thoughts and feelings can contribute to ill health so Vital Detox also offers you the opportunity to detox emotionally.

This is a chance to resolve old emotional issues that may be holding you back in your life. Vital Detox considers it to be such an integral part of the detox that they include a session (only if you feel you need one) with either Anna, a fully qualified and experienced homeopath and journey therapist, or Barbara, who also trained with Brandon Bays and is an skilled and versatile therapist. These sessions really can change your life!

Relationship detox

Your relationships with other people, particularly intimate relationships, can be a source of great happiness in your lives but they can are also bring up considerable pain and discomfort. You are, therefore, delighted to have Fran the team as she is a skilled relationship counsellor with many years experience working for Relate and E Harmony with couples and individuals - she can help transform all aspects of relationships. Sessions with her can be taken instead of the Journey or coaching or can be booked as an extra at a charge of 60 GBP.

You also have a detox your relationship package that includes everything we offer as part of the retreat as well as a session together with Fran and a combined astrological chart analysis and coaching session with Annie. This is an amazing chance to improve your physical health, happiness and a primary relationship all in one week. This relationship could be with a family member or friend as well as a romantic partner.

Vital Detox has a friendly, supportive team of experienced therapists who are dedicated to enabling you to have the most beneficial detox week possible. They are not here to make you feel wrong about your lifestyle choices; they simply want to give you an opportunity to rest, restore, cleanse and take as much, or as little, inspiration away with you as you want.

They will provide information on how your body works, what nutrients it needs and how to get those nutrients. They will also give you the emotional and physical support that you need to get the most out of your detox holiday, and the tools you need to continue living healthily when you leave. This retreat will be joined by Julie, Fiona, Barbara, Annie, Fran, Anna and Andrew.

This retreat will take place in the stunning countryside in Somerset, United Kingdom.

Juices and broth

During the detox retreat week, Vital Detox provide four fresh, organic juices every day. These are made every three hours and served with a range of specific cleansing supplements. These supplements are designed to gently cleanse the bowel and collect old toxic matter so that it can be, literally, washed away. Everyone is different so we will provide different juices according to a persons individual needs.

There will also be a hot potassium broth every evening to replace lost minerals and provide warmth and nourishment. Vital Detox provides as much Glastonbury Spring water as you can drink as well as constant supply of Fionas special Detox Tea and a whole range of healing Pukka Teas to enhance your cleanse. Vital Detox also includes little extras in your cottage that will also aid the detox process.

Raw Food Feast

At the end of the week Anna will prepare a feast of raw foods for you to break your fast as well as show you how to prepare some of the dishes. You will experience how simple and delicious healthy food can be. Vital Detox does not advocate one particular way of eating, because we all have different needs, but raw food is the best way to break a fast and re-populate your bowel with essential, beneficial enzymes. Vital Detox will also give you a supply of top quality probiotics to take away with you to ensure that your bowel is protected when you start to eat again. You will not go home empty handed as we will send you on your way with enough food to get you home and resist the perils of the service stations! There will also be an opportunity for you to stock up on a wide range of healthy, organic foods from our local specialist shop.

Another wonderfully restorative aspect to the retreat is provided by Andrew and Vital Detoxs expert team of massage therapists. Andrew is trained in an incredible array of healing arts. These include Thai massage, Ayurvedic massage, Indian head massage, abdominal massage, acupuncture, reflexology and he is also trained as a naturopath. Most of our guests say that he gives the best treatments they have ever had. They also have therapists who can provide manual lymphatic drainage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage and a wonderful Ayurvedic facial treatment that is also known as the natural face lift!

"My whole experience was what I expected and more. With the support, advice and genuine care of the team I was able to enjoy my time there as well as change my life for the better. It was a truly holistic week. The detox being both physical and mental in the safest, and beautiful of environments. Walking around the Tor early in the morning with just the sheep and chickens for company was special. I met some lovely people and came away feeling educated, cleansed and refreshed."

"This was my first retreat. My plan was to just get away and have a nice relaxing break. As luck would have it l ended up with much more than that. The retreat itself is located on a beautiful farm, where friendly chickens roam free. There was plenty to do, the days passed very quickly. I found starting the day with group meditation cleared my mind and set me up for whatever was to come. Surprisingly I never felt hungry at any point during the fast, from what I had researched I expected to be struggling for the first few days, but this was not the case. I guess the balance juices, supplements and broth were enough to deal with my hunger."

"The talks on nutrition were interesting and informative, and hopefully I'll be able to put some of the stuff to good use.Anna and her team are fantastic. So much knowledge, so much enthusiasm. I'm so glad I went there. My future has started to change for the better, now that I have a much more positive outlook on life. I lost 4.2 kilos, my blood pressure is back to normal and l am good to go mentally and physically. This is the place to for for a proper detox. Don't forget to pat the goats and sheep before you leave they are so laid back, some of their calm will be passed onto you."

"Very nice experience with a good group of people. What we get from there is an excellent health boost via juicing, meditation, yoga, walks, massages and swimming pool, but also a real insight on how to make the difference in the long run, thanks to very useful tips, and extremely educative talks. The team that accompany us is very proactive and warm, they take into account the emotion side of detoxification process. They have been very creative the way they kept us busy and entertained all way through, even now I keep receiving a few follow up emails with written advices that sum up our journey there, a lovely way to make sure we have best chances to apply concretely what we learnt. Thanks so much for this lovely time!"

"This is something that everyone should do. It is the BEST thing I have ever done. The team are the most loving, caring people and nothing is ever a problem for them. They are always there for you. I went there distraught having just lost my husband and came home having lost weight and a confident new person. Thank you so much for giving me back my life. Can't wait to see you all in February!"

"I have been through a dramatic and unsettling period in my life, apart from needing to kickstart my weight loss programme I needed the opportunity to undergo some gentle therapy to help me through some difficult decisions. I booked late and didn't really do any research into the programme but I threw myself into everything on offer. I was only 1 of 3 men in a total group of 21 and I must say that this was probably one of the best decisions I have made in many years. The juice diet (the fast) was nowhere near as 'bad' as one may think. Help is on hand at all times from an exceptional team who ensure that all needs are catered for, from general health and wellbeing as well as taking care of you emotionally as required along the way. The entire package is professionally planned and executed, I simply cannot imagine how any other retreat could possibly be as well run and I recommend Vital Detox unreservedly. If you are thinking about this then do yourself the biggest favour you could ever imagine and just go ahead and do it!"
