If you are looking for advanced strength and discipline, then this 200 Hour Online Ashtanga YTT Course is the right place for you. Ashtanga yoga is a powerful yogic tool which is similar to Vinyasa yoga in the sense of flowing movements connected to the breath, however Ashtanga comes with its very own unique sets and sequences known as the Primary Series, Intermediate and Advanced Series.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
There are several bonus live classes almost every week. You are not required to attend. Some classes are interactive lectures or workshops on Zoom, and some are guided asana classes on Facebook, with follow-up chats. On average, there are two classes a week. The classes run from Brazil and Kenya. The days and times change monthly. The times are spread out so that people around the world have a chance to join if their schedules match. Below are suggested times to watch videos and do work. Students can work on their own schedule because they are not live classes.

Each day you will practice parts of the classical ashtanga yoga primary series as created by Pattabhi Jois. Over the weeks you will gradually build until finally you can practice the full series, which includes sun salutations, traditional core poses, mantras and pranayama.
Receive special workshops to deepen your skills. Learn about working with injuries, using props, giving adjustments, class design, and sequencing. Also get lectures on professional development, creating your own courses, and student-teacher relations.
In analytics class you will examine each pose one by one to learn correct alignment, technique, engagement, transitions and modifications. Workshops include working with injuries, adjustments, sequencing, meditation and pranayama. Bonus classes include Aerial and Acro yoga.
Gain a deeper understanding of the structures and principles underlying each movement and of yoga itself. See how specific muscles respond to the movements of the joints with biomechanics; how alterations of a pose can enhance or reduce effectiveness; how the spine, breathing, and body position are all fundamentally linked; and the various bodily systems.
Cultivate an authentic yogic lifestyle through a deep understanding of traditional yoga philosophy. Topics include meaning of yoga, definitions of yoga, nature of self/soul, identification system, common terms of yoga, Bhagavad Gita essence, 4 paths of yoga, Patanjali 8 limbs, chakras, 4 states of consciousness, Ayurveda intro, 4 yoga attitudes. More advanced topics include karma theory, duality concept, 3 Gunas of nature, ego, history / evolution of yoga, and Tantra yoga.
Learn the art of teaching, class design, and caring for students. Record yourself teaching at home or online to gain real experience. Receive feedback from instructors to develop and grow into a confident yoga instructor.
You will receive PDF’s and links to essential readings. The course content is derived from the following books, which you are encouraged to buy: Teaching Yoga by Mark Stephens, Hatha Illustrated by Martin Kirk, Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar, Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Bhagavad Gita and Vedas.
Cody is a lead ULU Yoga trainer. He has been teaching yoga globally for several years and instructing multiple yoga teacher training as a lead and senior instructor. He has trained in India and Thailand on multi-style Vinyasa, Yoga, Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin teacher training, and attended multiple movements, anatomy, and meditation workshops throughout Asia. He has certifications in Aerial and SUP yoga. Additionally, he has several years of experience in Qigong, primal movement, contemporary dance, Calisthenic training, and a black belt in Taekwondo.
Manjeet started yoga and self-awareness path in 2009. He completed his 200-hour, 300-hour, yoga therapy modules 1 and 2 multi-style YTT with Parimukti Yoga in India. He also has certifications in meditation training and Iyengar yoga. Manjeet has taught 3000+ hours in 50-plus yoga and meditation teacher training specializing in Hatha yoga, meditations, practical yoga philosophy, chakras, pranayama, and more. He has a very human approach to yoga and believes in personalizing practices for everyone. Emotional awareness and making a light, playful space also is Manjeet's specialties.
Edward (USA) started yoga in 2007. He has studied and taught all over the world and completed training in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, traditional Thai massage, meditation, and Aerial yoga. In 2014, Edward founded ULU Yoga and began offering 200 and 300-hour yoga teacher training. Before yoga, Edward taught university education, worked in music theatre production and volunteered at numerous permaculture farms and eco-retreat centers. Edward’s passion is to inspire others through creative exploration and empower students to change their lives to help others.
