Accommodation

Check-in Time:
02:00

On the trek, Thrill Nepal prioritizes clean, cozy, and high-quality lodging. Your stay is split between the vibrant city of Kathmandu and the traditional mountain teahouses of the Khumbu region.

Kathmandu: boutique comfort

Before and after your trek, you will stay in a 4-star boutique hotel in the heart of Kathmandu (usually Thamel). Amenities: en-suite bathrooms, 24/7 hot water, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a peaceful courtyard, perfect for the pre-trek yoga orientation.

Vibe: A blend of traditional Nepali architecture and modern luxury to ensure you are well-rested before you fly to Lukla.

On the trail: traditional mountain teahouses

During the trek, you stay in hand-picked mountain teahouses (lodges). These are family-run guesthouses that provide a warm, communal atmosphere. The rooms: Cozy, twin-sharing rooms with comfortable mattresses and warm blankets. While simple, they provide the perfect “sanctuary” for recovery.

The heart of the house: Every teahouse has a heated central dining hall. This is where you gather for evening meditations, hot ginger tea, and nutritious meals. It is the warmest place in the lodge and the social hub of the group.

Yoga spaces: Thrill Nepal selects lodges that have wooden floors or open terraces with mountain views, providing a stable and scenic space for the daily yoga practice.

Facilities and connectivity

Toilets and showers: In lower elevations (Namche, Lukla), Thrill Nepal aims for rooms with attached bathrooms. As you go higher (Lobuche, Gorak Shep), facilities become shared. Hot showers are available at most stops for a small additional fee.

Charging and Wi-Fi: Solar power and Wi-Fi are available throughout most of the trek. You can keep your devices charged and share your yoga-with-Everest photos with the world.

Retreat location

This trip a multi-day trekking journey in the Khumbu Valley of the Nepalese Himalayas, culminating at the foot of Mount Everest near Everest Base Camp.

Food

In the Himalayas, people say "Dal Bhat Power, 24 Hour!" Thrill Nepal believes that good food is the best medicine for the trail. The meal plan is designed to keep you light for yoga while providing the "slow-burn" energy needed for trekking.

Breakfast: The morning ritual

Before the first yoga session or trek start, you fuel up with warm, hearty options:

  • Grains: Porridge (oatmeal), muesli with hot milk, or Tsampa (traditional roasted barley).
  • Local favorites: Tibetan bread (deep-fried and delicious with honey) or chapati.
  • Protein: Eggs any style—boiled, scrambled, or veggie omelets.

Lunch and dinner: nourishment and recovery

Your midday and evening meals are the "main events." You can choose from a surprisingly diverse menu at the teahouses:

  • The staple: Dal Bhat. This is the traditional Nepali meal consisting of steamed rice, lentil soup, vegetable curry, and spinach. It is organic, gluten-free, and comes with unlimited refills—perfect for replenishing calories!
  • Mountain comforts: Sherpa stew (Syakpa), Thukpa (noodle soup), and fresh momos (steamed dumplings). These are warming and excellent for hydration.
  • International options: For those craving a taste of home, teahouses offer pasta, macaroni, veggie pizza, and even fried potatoes.

The yoga-friendly edge

  • Hydration first: Thrill Nepal emphasizes garlic soup and ginger-lemon-honey tea, which are local secrets for aiding acclimatization and digestion at high altitudes.
  • Fresh and vegetarian focus: They highly recommend a vegetarian diet while on the trail. Since meat is often carried up the mountain by porters, staying plant-based ensures you are eating the freshest ingredients available.

Drinks and hydration

Staying hydrated is the #1 rule for preventing altitude sickness. Thrill Nepal provides:

  • Abundant tea: Black, green, ginger, and the famous salty butter tea.
  • Safe water: They provide boiled or filtered water throughout the trek to ensure you stay healthy and eco-friendly (no plastic bottles!).
