Chrissy Lefavour began teaching yoga in 2012 and continued to teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Kids yoga. She completed her RYT 500-hour certification in early 2014. In addition to teaching classes around Central Vermont, Chrissy became involved with yoga with horses, SUP yoga, and leading yoga retreats internationally. A born traveler, Chrissy brought her first group of yogis to the Dominican Republic in 2016 and was immediately in love with the combination of yoga, Caribbean lifestyle, fresh food, and the amazing activities offered at The Yoga Loft, Cabarete.

Jeremy is NASM certified personal trainer. His main focus as a trainer and coach and what he takes pride in is creating personalised, customised programs. These programs are designed to help clients reach their fitness goals with a focus on correct faulty movement patterns and muscle imbalances through restorative exercise. He has a love and passion for fitness and living a healthy and active life style. Jeremy grew up playing team sports such as basketball and football. Gregory is an 8 year veteran of the circus arts with multiple international certifications and qualifications. He began his journey, like so many others, as a Club Med G.O. The circus arts have taken him all over the world, from the United States, to the Caribbean, and throughout Asia. After working with many international teams of circus instructors he opened his own school, pursuing his dream of sharing the circus arts with everyone. Gregory can often be found on the flying trapeze, teaching aerials, or high in the sky rigging new equipment.
Ally is originally a figure skater from Toronto, Canada. After years of training and competing, she spent 10 years touring the world performing as a professional figure skater in many shows including ‘Holiday on ice’ and international versions of ‘Skating with the Stars’. In 2014 she fell in love with the aerial arts, continuing to perform as an aerialist on ice. She enjoys teaching and coaching others exactly what she loves about the circus arts! Her other specialities are the aerial hammock and hand balancing.
Growing up, playing basketball and swimming, I always had an interest in fitness and health. I loved the feeling of being connected and at ease with my body. In 2015, I underwent open-heart surgery and found myself longing for a way to reconnect with all parts of my being. Yoga has helped me heal and helped me find inner strength. I completed my 200 Hour Teacher Training at the Goodyoga yoga school in Brooklyn, NY, with a focus on Alignment and Anatomy followed by a 300HR advanced teaching mentorship. I strive to encourage my students to listen to their bodies as they move towards growth.

"Best mini holiday and retreat I’ve had!"
Very friendly staff! It was the first time I visited Cabarete, yet I felt safe and at home right away. The food (breakfast and dinner) is of amazing quality (with organic and gluten free options) so props to the wonderful chef for the wonderful menu👍🏼 The daily yoga practices were all wonderful yet challenging! There are also many activities such as kite surfing, trapeze etc on site (which I will definitely try the next time I visit Extreme Hotel). The tour to the organic farm and river tubing exceeded my expectations. I’ve had soo much fun on my birthday visiting Taino’s Farm and River Yasica. If you like adventure and great sceneries; You should definitely try this one out. I had such a wonderful experience that I did not want to leave 😩 thanks Robin, Vikki and Gabby for a wonderful retreat!💕🙏🏼

"Beachside Yoga. Can’t Go Wrong"
Classes and instructors were all fantastic. Can’t beat the facilities. My package was perfect - it included meals, two yoga classes per day, an excursion and the schedule itself allowed plenty of time to explore Cabarete on your own.

"Amazing and Healing! "
This place was amazing. The yoga loft was perfect, the food was delicious, and you can’t beat the location. We did a different tour of the country each day and most of the time made it back in time for evening yoga class. Definitely coming back ASAP!

I loved all parts of this experience. The yoga, the food, the farm, the tubing, the smoothies, the pool, the badass chicks who worked there (Also the dudes) and watching the kiteboarders. I didn't get a chance to check out the circus classes, wish I had more fun tickets to use that trip, it's a must for my next visit.
I also liked that the entrance to the rooms were gated and how friendly everyone was. I need to work on my Spanish skills, but this place is amazing. I'll be back to the DR soon.

"Aging Surfer Wannabe"
I can't say enough wonderful things about this whole experience. Absolutely magical from start to finish. My only warning: bring good noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs for the nights, as sometimes the traffic on the nearby road can be a bit noisy.

"Perfect place to chill"
This was my first solo travel so I was a little anxious about it. However, at the Extreme Hotel you feel truly welcome and relaxed. Everyone is very friendly and the environment is conducive to interaction.
I booked just one week but would loved to have stayed at least one more week. I can't wait to go back. It's not a tourist environment, very chill and unpretentious.

If you are traveling on your own then go straight here. A host of new friends and activities await. Although the hotel is quite basic it is clean and functional and has lots of activities and a friendly staff that make you feel instantly at home and at ease. This is an awesome place for singles or groups. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There beachside restaurant serves amazing food and the activities on site range from kite surfing, yoga, a full gym, circus and trapeze, SUP, surfing, horseback riding and just plain fun hanging out at the communal table and making new friends! Cant wait to go back!
Go with a open heart and a open mind and you'll have an amazing time. Extreme will embrace you !!!! .Fabulous sense of community,wonderful staff,fantastic yoga loft and quite possibly the best gym in the world. You'll leave a better person spiritually,mentally and physically!!!!!

I had been looking for a place away from home where I would be able to do crossfit and yoga over the holidays and I found the perfect place. Extreme Hotel offered the basic accommodation we needed, a clean room with a nice balcony and a fridge. I stayed for seven days. I love the environmentally-friendly approach the hotel has to everything from being solar powered, to not going overboard with unnecessary daily cleanings etc. The hotel is one of the only ones in the area directly on the beach and the best kite-surfing spot. The restaurant offers great views of the surf as well as amazing and creative food choices from local resources - mainly their own organic farm that you can tour. The staff is extremely helpful with every need and goes out of their way to make your stay as individualized and perfect for you as possible. This is true for the restaurant, the hotel, the yoga and the crossfire gym. And overall you have a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere that helps make you feel at home and forget about your stress right away. Vicky, the hotel manager is ready to help anytime with organizing tours and information about anything you want. Zach and Jeremy are very knowledgeable and motivating coaches that will make it fun to work out during your vacation. The small gym has everything you need to do workouts on any level and for any preference and private coaching sessions are available - and I would highly recommend it as I learned a lot! Sophia & Peter, the yoga teachers have different styles and compliment each other perfectly so that you get to experience a wide spectrum of what yoga can do for you - no matter if you are a beginner or advanced practitioner. My husband started kite surfing here and had a great experience with the flexibility and knowledgeability of their staff. The stay, as well as the food classes and trips, are very reasonably priced - especially given the quality you get for your money. I am not a traveler who comes back to the same place twice as there is too much to experience in this world... but I think Extreme Hotel may be the exception and become a regular retreat for me to recharge my batteries. First time every staying at an eco hotel. Appreciate the green living perspective. Rooms were comfortable even without AC. Though it rained like the locals have never seen before they kept the place clean and dry for the guests. Best yoga experience. How can you not get your zen on listing to the waves and enjoying fresh sea air. Instructors were great several different types of yoga practices. Lucked out and had my own private lesson since my travel companions skipped class one evening. Restaurant food was delicious. Everything from burgers to pasta to Italian to sushi. Learned a lot about local living and Dominican time, moto's and taxi's
I stayed here for 7 nights during the month of November 2016. The food from the restaurant is mostly farm-to-table from a local organic farm and everything was absolutely fabulous. Selections ranged from local favorites to Italian to sushi and all was done amazingly well. The smoothies were fresh and delicious as well. The fitness classes were offered several times a day and while I was there I took two classes with Zack. He did a great job explaining the TRX moves to a group of newbies to that type of exercise and during the Sweat class, he was very helpful in adjusting the class for the people that attended that day. Yoga in the loft was peaceful and the sound of the waves enhanced the entire experience. I also took the trapeze classes. It was something I never thought I'd have the chance to do, and with the help of the instructors, I had a great time! Keep in mind that this is an eco-hotel so the accommodations are minimalist. Each room has decently comfortable beds with linens, thin towels, drinking water, a mini fridge, and a safe. The hotel runs on solar power so no AC, but the ceiling fan and screen door created a nice breeze. Housekeeping only comes a few times a week (not every day). No TV, but you can grab and trade books from the shelves in the lobby, and hopefully will be too tired from working out/adventures to feel like you need it. Wifi was available but was sometimes spotty. The atmosphere of the hotel is similar to a hostel- everyone is friendly and will sit and talk or eat with you. I met travelers from all over the world! I highly recommend this to someone looking for an active travel opportunity.
