Program
Five reasons to go on a yoga retreat
The first reason is that you’ll get a new perspective on your life. Going to a new place creates an opportunity to see the world, and yourself, in a new light. Next, you will have the opportunity to meditate. When you have extended free time, it’s a lot easier to meditate. No phone ringing or a boss reminding you about deadlines. On retreats, it feels a lot more natural to breathe deeply and be present in the moment.
Another reason is that you can relax and de-stress. Sometimes you have to be far from home to give yourself the permission to really relax. Being on a retreat allows you to listen to your body, rest when you need it, and be free from stress and anxiety.
The next exciting reason to join a retreat is that you’ll make new friends. You will meet individuals with similar interests. Even if you go alone, you have a chance to make friends with people who you might know for the rest of your life. The last reason is you’ll appreciate home. A retreat will allow you to come home with a refreshed appreciation for your life. You will feel happier, healthier and re-energized.

Meeta
Meeta lives with her family in Southampton. She is a keen cook and enjoys feeding her family as well as anyone who comes to her house. Giving is in her inner nature and those people who know her often feel inspired by being in her company. One of the main driving forces behind Meeta teaching yoga is the positive impact she knows it has on her students. She knows the wide reaching benefits that a disciplined yoga practice can have. She loves to see her students become strong, develop faith in themselves and use the energy developed through yoga to make a difference in the world.
Retreat location
This retreat takes place in the Abbey Sutton Courtenay. The unique medieval building is set in extensive grounds, tucked away in the small village of Sutton Courtenay, just 10 miles south of Oxford. This extraordinary facility is used by individuals and groups from the public, private and voluntary sectors, and is as relevant to a private celebration as it is to a large corporate event - a peaceful yet creative setting that never ceases to inspire all who visit.
The Abbey is surrounded by four acres of beautiful grounds that include mature trees, a woodland path, a labyrinth and tranquil sitting areas, which all guests are welcome to explore and enjoy. There are also fine walks through the old village and along the nearby Thames.
