Accommodation

During the retreat, you will be staying at Melissa's Healing Space. The accommodation is a beautiful 80-acre property surrounded by native wildlife, in a peaceful, private setting. The accommodation is fresh, clean, and twin share. Bedding is supplied, but please bring your own towel. A fridge is available at the accommodation for your personal use or specific dietary requirements. Melissa’s Healing Space can only accommodate up to six participants at a time.

At times, accommodation may be outsourced to that of an equal standard on one of the surrounding properties if the retreat becomes larger than what Melissa’s Healing Space can accommodate. All previous participants have been most happy with this as the chosen accommodation is only a short stroll to the yoga studio.

  • 16:00 Begin your weekend of nurturing with a yoga class to soothe and center yourself. You will be given time to settle into your accommodation before dinner.

  • 19:15 Welcome circle followed by the first session of mindfulness-based stillness meditation course and moving into silence

  • 06:00 Progressive muscle relaxation flowing into a mindfulness meditation. This is a lead practice and is suitable for the beginner to the experienced practitioner.
  • 07:00 Breakfast followed by a time for you to rest and digest, take in the surroundings, or have a massage.
  • 09:30 Flowing yoga class with supported postures as the class progresses
  • 11:15 Morning tea
  • 11:30 Second session of mindfulness-based stillness meditation course
  • 13:00 Lunch followed by a time for you to rest and digest, take in the surroundings, have a walk or a massage, and much more.
  • 15:00 Third session of mindfulness-based stillness meditation course. Massage time available, time to rest, have a cuppa, afternoon tea and much more.
  • 18:00 Dinner
  • 19:30 Fourth session of mindfulness-based stillness meditation course, short yoga posture sleep sequence, and moving into silence

Monday -September 10, 2017

This is a day of silence. The practices are still guided, but there is no discourse until the completion of the retreat in our share circle. Allowing the practices that you have shared over the last two days to be deeply felt by resting in silence on our last day.

Retreat location

This retreat will take place in Melissa's Healing Space, Queensland, Australia. Melissa’s Healing Space is situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, 20 minutes from the Hinterland town of Maleny, and 90 minutes north of Brisbane. Nestled into 80 acres of land for wildlife, you can find yourself surrounded by various kinds of fauna from wallabies to an amazing array of birds, frogs, and lizards. It is not uncommon to get up close and personal with the wallabies that graze on the property.

The 20 minutes drive from the township of Maleny,10 kilometers along Maleny-Kenilworth road, and another 10 kilometers along Curramore road is breathtakingly beautiful. In regard to scenery, some participants have even shared that the drive out to Melissa’s Healing Space is where their retreat experience begins.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
