1-Week Wellness & Art Retreat in Patan (Lalitpur) & Janakpur (Mithila Art)
This retreat is ideal for guests with limited time who want a meaningful introduction to Nepali art, wellness, and culture.
Day 1: Arrival & Patan Orientation
Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to Patan, Lalitpur. After check-in, a welcome briefing and wellness orientation will introduce the retreat flow. The day ends with a gentle mindfulness session.
Day 2: Patan: City of Fine Art
The day begins with morning yoga and meditation. You then explore Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with traditional metal and wood carving workshops. The afternoon is dedicated to art exploration and sketching, followed by an evening reflection.
Day 3: Wellness & Creative Expression
After a morning wellness practice, you join a guided art workshop inspired by Newari art. The afternoon is free for personal creativity, rest, or journaling. In the evening, enjoy a cultural walk through Patan’s old town.
Day 4: Transfer to Janakpur
You travel to Janakpur by scenic drive or optional flight. After check-in and rest, you receive an introduction to the Mithila art tradition and its cultural significance.
Day 5: Mithila Art Immersion
The day begins with meditation, followed by a hands-on Mithila art workshop led by local women artists. Later, you visit Janaki Mandir and nearby art villages. The evening includes a sharing and reflection session.
Day 6: Culture & Wellness
Gentle yoga and breathing exercises start the day. Sightseeing includes Janaki Mandir, local markets, and cultural heritage sites. The afternoon is free for relaxation or optional art practice.
Day 7: Closing & Departure
The retreat concludes with a closing wellness session, feedback sharing, and a certificate of participation before departure for your onward journey.
You don't need prior experience. The retreat is designed for beginners as well as experienced artists and wellness practitioners. All sessions are guided and adapted to individual skill levels and comfort.
Wellness activities include gentle yoga, meditation, and light nature walks. The program is relaxed and suitable for most fitness levels. Activities can be adjusted according to personal needs.
Essential art materials are provided during workshops. However, participants are welcome to bring their own preferred tools or sketchbooks for personal use.
