Program

Flexible surf camp and vanlife experience in Fuerteventura

This surf camp on wheels is built around flexibility. Instead of a fixed day-by-day schedule, each day is shaped by the waves and the preferences of the group.

With your campervan, you are free to move across the island and surf where conditions are best - from beginner-friendly beaches to more advanced breaks.

Some days start with sunrise surf sessions, others with slow mornings by the ocean. You might spend the day exploring hidden beaches, visiting local villages, or simply relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.

Surfing and activities - as much or as little as you want

Surfing is at the heart of the experience. Professional instructors are available for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers. You can join a 5-day group surf course, take private coaching sessions, or simply enjoy the beach, relax, and explore the island while others are in the water, making this experience perfect for both surfers and non-surfers.

Upon request, advanced sessions can also be arranged, including video analysis and surf photography.

Beyond surfing, you can join optional activities such as yoga, island trips, light workouts, or simply enjoy free time - the program adapts to you.

Guided experience with full freedom

Throughout your stay, you will have access to a local Caravamos guide who helps with planning, logistics, and recommendations - without over-scheduling your time.

Support is provided to organize surf lessons, recommend the best spots, arrange restaurant visits, and set up relaxed social moments like beach barbecues.

You always have support when you need it, while keeping the freedom to explore at your own pace.

A typical week might look like this

  • Arrival and campervan introduction at the base, first night by the ocean
  • Daily surf sessions adapted to your level and conditions
  • Exploring different parts of the island throughout the week
  • Relaxed beach days, sunset sessions, optional yoga
  • Local food experiences and optional group dinners or beach barbecues
  • Free time to discover Fuerteventura your own way
  • Farewell evening and return to base

Solo travellers, couples, and groups

You are welcome to join this surf camp on your own or with others. Many guests travel solo and quickly connect with like-minded people, while still enjoying their own space in the campervan.

Couples, friends, and families can also share a campervan, making this a flexible and social experience that adapts to different travel styles.

Included excursions

In addition to surfing, you have the option to explore Fuerteventura beyond the usual spots. A flexible island round-trip can easily be combined with your surf days, allowing you to discover remote beaches, scenic landscapes, and hidden corners of the island.

Caravamos is happy to guide you or help plan the route based on your interests, so you can experience the island in a relaxed and authentic way.

Retreat location

Your surf trip starts in El Matorral, just a few minutes from Fuerteventura Airport, making arrival quick and stress-free.

From here, the entire island becomes your playground. With your campervan, you're not tied to a single location - you can explore the north, south, and west coasts depending on the waves and weather.

Within a short drive, you'll find some of the island’s best surf spots, beautiful beaches, and local villages. Whether you prefer lively areas or quiet hidden corners, everything is within reach.

Fuerteventura is known for its year-round sunshine, consistent waves, and raw volcanic landscapes - the perfect setting for a surf and vanlife adventure.

Food

Each campervan comes with a fully equipped kitchen, giving you the freedom to cook your own meals whenever you like.

You can shop at local supermarkets, prepare simple meals on the road, and enjoy breakfast and dinner right by the ocean.

If you prefer not to cook, there are plenty of great local restaurants to explore, where you can taste the island’s traditional dishes - from fresh-caught fish and Canarian papas arrugadas with mojo, to goat cheese and volcanic wines.

Caravamos is also happy to recommend places, help you organize meals, or arrange beach barbecues on selected evenings.
