Rachel has lived in Bali for over three years years now. She owns The Pineapple House, a retreat for surfers and yogis. What she doesn't know about the island isn't worth knowing. She has been busy researching all of the best places to eat and can't wait to share those with you.

I like the location of The Pineapple House. It was so quiet and serene. The view from my room was very nice; it was so relaxing especially in the afternoon. The people who assisted me during my stay - Era, Agus, Sunny and Putu, they are all amazing! I would definitely recommend The Pineapple House to all! :)
Nothing! All is very good!

The Pineapple House was wonderful! All the hosts were super friendly and the cozy villa made it really feel like home. Other visitors were super friendly as well and it was nice to share experiences and get to know people around the world. You were able to spend nice quiet relaxing time by yourself and also experience lively and laugh filled conversations.
The location can be a challenge if you feel uncomfortable to walk on the side of a busy road or drive a scooter. Basically your only option is to take a cab that is not the most convenient way to commute.
I knew I wanted to make my first solo trip to Bali worthwhile coming all the way from California, so I decided to stay at the Pineapple House for 21 days. Based on the reviews combined with the extremely welcoming vibe I got from Rachel leading up to my trip, deciding to stay at the Pineapple House was by far the best decision I ever made.
I didn't want a full fledged surf/yoga retreat that was extremely structured as I wanted to be able to go off and explore the rest of Bali. Whether it be an overnight or day trip to Ubud, Nusa Lembongan, a bike trip up the east coast to Lovina or just taking the scooter around and getting lost - the Pineapple House was the perfect place to make this happen!
With the house being tucked away from the jam packed roads of Bali, yet close enough to amazing eateries and the beach - the type of people the Pineapple House attracts absolutely makes the experience wonderful as there are only 3 rooms in the house. I made some amazing friends during my 3 weeks here and I am forever grateful for the people I have met.
Desa Seni Resort is next door where you will get vouchers for your yoga classes. This by far was the most beautiful setting I have ever practiced at - hearing the birds and animals chirp in the background with wonderful instructors, Angela and Bernd's classes were my favorite. Fly High Yoga is definitely a good time as well!
Above everything else though, the staff is incredible at the Pineapple House. This can absolutely make or break an experience. Rachel has done an amazing job hiring the best in the business and it shows. Rachel is a truly genuine individual and you can feel her positive energy as soon as you meet her. Having a dog myself, I loved Rachel's dogs greeting me upon arrival every day as well. Era who oversees the day to day operations is an absolute sweetheart (Chile and Emily, too :) - her massage treatments are hands down the best I have ever had. Putu is just lovely, she will make delicious breakfasts every morning and always has a smile on her face. Having spent 11 surf sessions with Sunni, it was a joy to venture out into the waves with him - he has such an infectious personality and I truly looked forward to getting up at 6am to surf bright and early as I know it'd make for a fun morning.
Having left the Pineapple House not even 24 hours ago, and the last words that Agus (the driver/rockstar who took me to the airport at 5am) said to me were, "don't forget me" - that to me, was precious. The Pineapple House has left a lasting impression on me that I will cherish forever, I look forward to coming back again in the future when I make it back to Bali.
Thank you Rachel and your team, you guys are incredible!
I absolutely adored my time at the Pineapple House. What made my trip was the care I felt from Era and Rachel, a cozy (aesthetically pleasing) place to rest and recuperate, and amazing surf sessions with Suni! I have done a luxury retreat in Bali and felt that the individual attention that the Pineapple House paid to me was outstanding and set this trip apart from others I have taken. The yoga that is located close to the house has great teachers and a wide variety of classes offered. I would most definitely return to the Pineapple House during my next trip to Bali! This was truly THE BEST way to bring in the new year!
needed a getaway for a few days and was keen for some surfing and yoga, but wasn't after the typical regimented retreat experience. The Pineapple House was absolutely perfect. Go there and do nothing. Go and surf every day. Do yoga if you feel like it. Or do it all! In a super quiet location close to the action in Canggu, the team will all make you feel in a world of bliss.
The pineapple house is a very special place. I stayed here 9 nights with my mum and had a wonderful very relaxed experience.
The staff where beautiful and very accommodating. The arrangement provides privacy and peacefulness and at the same time could be very social. I got to know everyone staying there and it felt like a real 'home'.
Plenty to do! surfing, yoga, day trips, or just relaxing reading a book around the pool.

So this was my first ever solo travel trip, and I came here directly after visiting a friend in Singapore (just a little different to it there...), and I had the most memorable trip of my life so far. Era, Rachel and Putu are the most beautiful people, so friendly and I instantly felt like I had known them for years. The resort itself is beautiful, set in the rice fields and a super short (and beautiful) walk away from the beach on which the surf lessons are done. Now I found that surfing may not be for me (pretty sure Era will be laughing at this), but the yoga which was located next door was ah-mazing. Canggu is a very fit boy surfer vibe so literally right up my street, and everything about my stay was ensured to be special and tailored to me. Literally had the best time, and cannot wait to go back. Big love from London to all at the Pineapple House!

Lovely location, inspiring people, more then positive vibes, best place to stay. We found in this amazing place everything we were looking for. Rachel is definitely the perfect host, Suny is the best surf teacher ever and I've never found a SPA therapist as good as Era :) We already miss all of you so much!
Stayed here with my friend and was completely taken aback by the unreal setting and the fact we felt right at home. The open plan kitchen/dining/ living area is what dreams are made of. Rachel cooked us the most wonderful breakfasts and gave us a feel of Bali life from the beginning. I want to live here! There arent many rooms which makes the place literaly feel like home and is super friendly. I would high reccomend pineapple house to anyone. Not to mention the location- in Canguu is a must visit and is by far my favouirte place in Bali. And and and the air con ACTUALLY works- most places we stayed at it was just a pretty air con box...!
What an awesome place to stay.
Canggu is such a funky fun and unique area of bali - the equivalent of the brunswick of Indonesia for any aussies out there...
The pineapple house was the perfect place to unwind- if you wanted to surf, partake in yoga, explore the island the team were more than happy to help make it happen.
The surf lessons were awesome - very patient instructor which helps!!
Breakfast - brilliant, healthy and delicious!!
Much love to everyone @ The Pineapple House.... already planning my next stay.

I can't even begin to express how much I loved my stay at the Pineapple House. From start to finish, it was exactly what I had hoped for, and much much more. Relaxing, peaceful, beautiful, homely, and just the perfect little oasis. The Pineapple house family are absolutely incredible - Era, the retreat manager, is like a ray of sunshine, making you feel right at home from the first moment you step in the door with her big hugs and infectious laughter. Rachel, the owner and brains behind the whole place, is also totally amazing, coming over every morning to have a chat and check in. Suny, the surfing instructor, is the best there is. He's hilarious and cheeky, and an absolutely fantastic teacher. He had me off the foam board in 2 days. The breakfasts were fantastic, especially since i'm vegan - they catered for me really well!
I place itself is really beautiful, small, intimate, gorgeously (is that a word?) decorated and super comfortable. Due to my last minute booking, I got to stay in each of the three bedrooms over my stay - so I can say with certainty that they are all beautiful! The room upstairs is the smallest of the three, but has a gorgeous little balcony that overlooks the rice fields next door, so was probably my favourite. It's bathroom is pretty tiny but fine for one person. The two rooms downstairs are much more spacious, and both with beautiful stone open-air bathrooms. I'd recommend them for couples. The pool is lovely, very minimal (if any) chlorine, so felt like a freshwater lake. Beautiful to cool off from the heat of Bali. There's a great selection of books to read, both fiction and non-fiction/personal development/spiritual style books which are perfect if you're in need of some self-reflection and growth as I was.
Rachel was great in the lead-up to my stay in helping me to organise a detox food package with a local cafe called Avocado Cafe which was really fantastic! They delivered the food to the Villa for me so I didn't even have to leave my little cozy nest if I didn't want to!
Era (the retreat manager) is also the spa treatment extraordinaire - her massages are TO DIE FOR! I treated myself to one of her tailored spa treatment packages which was the perfect way to end my stay.
The yoga classes at Desa Seni were also incredible. You get given a few vouchers for classes on arrival at Pineapple house so you can choose which classes and what times you want to go. Where they have the classes (just next door) is such a perfect setting, in an open air wooden Balinese style pavilion where you hear the sounds of nature throughout your practice. I went to a number of different classes, and they were all incredible. Fantastic teachers with a lot of experience.
I also had a Tarot Card reading, and a session with the Tantra teacher, Camille, both of which were really worthwhile and helpful. I also had a meditation lesson with Rachel, which was great as an introduction to meditation. I'm so grateful to her for sharing so much of her knowledge and experience with me.
And, the best part of all....(Rachel you know I couldn't go this whole review without mentioning this...haha)....Rachel got TWO ADORABLE PUPPIES while I was staying there!!! As a huge animal lover, this was a major highlight for me. Tilly and Mo are the cutest little things, and with Rachel living right next door, you'll get to see them all the time!! Her two beautiful cats also visited regularly which was lovely for me (I was missing my fur-babies a lot).
Honestly, I could ramble all day about how amazing this place is - but instead of that, just do yourself a favour and GO visit Era, Rachel and Suny (and Tilly and Mo)! You won't regret it. If you're looking for a retreat that isn't totally scheduled and organised but is more flexible and relaxed, to take you away from the pressures of everyday life, this is the perfect place for you. As a solo traveller, I couldn't have felt more looked after and surrounded by friends. I'll be back for sure!

It is hard to describe just how special this place is. If you want to feel at home and cared for immediately, this is where you should stay when traveling to Canguu, Bali. It is the perfect oasis, a peaceful and beautiful setup close to everything but tucked away from the main road and overlooking a rice paddy. Rachel, Era, and Putu take care of every detail to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The shared indoor/outdoor kitchen and living space is ideal for relaxing, having the delicious healthy breakfast served, and chatting with the new friends you will surely make at Pineapple House. All the rooms are nice, clean, and air conditioned. I stayed in the smaller bedroom on the second floor and enjoyed the beautiful views every morning and night. Also, the surf lessons and yoga were excellent. I can't wait to return someday. Truly, Rachel and her team are the lovliest people and you will leave feeling like they are your family. Sending love from New York City xoxo Thank you!

This was my second trip to Pineapple House. I've stayed once with a friend and once on my own for a solo getaway. I love how easy everything is - your airport pick up is arranged, your surf lessons are arranged and there's yoga right next door and massages and daily breakfast on-site. The villa is also perfectly located a short distance from great cafes, shops and the cool beach bars and clubs in the area. Rachel and her team are warm and welcoming and I've met some lovely other guest who I've kept in touch with and have seen since in other cities around the world. Highly recommended!

Staying at The Pineapple House felt like staying with old friends. The house itself is beautiful, secluded and right next to a wonderful yoga resort. All the staff are beyond helpful and so friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough! I was staying their with a friend, but think it would be a perfect place for a solo traveler too as there are plenty of options to socialise with other guests, but also plenty of areas to chill out on your own. The breakfasts are super delicious and the one on one yoga classes with Rachel were incredibly insightful as I learned that I had been doing many basic poses incorrectly and I've found that what I learned in those lessons has massively improved my postures and understanding of the basics. Also the massages with Era are out of this world. Such a special place to stay!
I had the most wonderful time at the Pineapple House! It was my first time travelling and I was doing it alone, so the Pineapple House was a great way to ease into it!
I had the most beautiful room, and felt like a princess!
Rachel, Era and Putu were just amazing. We had beautiful breakfasts every day, and it was so wonderful to talk to you all about life in Bali.
Special thanks to Era for organizing some of my trip after I left the Pineapple House, it was much appreciated.
Suni was a great surfing teacher, he taught me so much about surfing and more!
Overall a wonderful experience, would love love LOVE to come back sometime soon!
I went to the Pineapple House by myself for 3 nights to take a break from traveling around Bali with my partner. It was exactly what I needed. Era and Rachel were very welcoming and made me feel at home. It was easy to hire a driver and plan activities from here. I loved that I wasn't locked into a surf/yoga schedule. I had a lot of options for yoga classes and surfing, and I got to choose what I wanted to do. And because I wasn't locked into a yoga/surf schedule, I was able to become friends with the other girls staying at the house. Loved that!
The breakfast and coffee was delicious as well!
The small door to The Pineapple House secretly hides a beautiful house with Javanese details and cozy atmosphere. The carvings in the woods, the open spaces, the refreshing garden by the pool... I couldn't have found a better place to stay.
There is a yoga shala next door and the surf is only a few minutes by scooter. Placed just a tiny bit away from the main and hectic streets of Canggu, it's a peaceful spot to calm down and relax.
Still there's plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants near by.
Although I would say the best is the staff at The Pineapple House. They welcome you warmly and make you feel like at home. Everything was great!
Do as much or as little as you like, this place will meet the expectations of every surf-yogi traveler.
It’s not everyday that you plan a trip to Bali - at least I don’t. SO, sitting thousands of miles away planning and deciding on that perfect vacation can be a bit daunting. You want your accommodations to be a home away from your home - and that’s exactly what I got!
I literally stumbled on The Pineapple House (PH) searching for yoga/surf retreats. I found several options in Bali, but PH answered my email and questions immediately and made me feel like I was a known, not just some paying customer. Rachel (the owner) was patient with me answering multiple inquiries and hold my space as I got my vacation time approved from my employer. The planning phase was a breeze.
When I arrived at the airport, the PH was awaiting with my name on a sign and vehicle ready to load my bags and boards. It literally felt like I had been there before, no awkwardness, no looking around for someone to take me there - just Balinese hospitality at it’s finest.
Upon entering the actual property I was immediately home - a beautiful courtyard with pool and nicely decorated. My room was rad and equally pleasing to the senses.
The staff were/are AMAZING. Rachel has the best caring for your needs and questions. Over the course of my time, they became my friends ... such cool people.
Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were cleaned every day. And the surf and yoga were off the hook. Suny - the surf instructor/guide was great. An excellent surfer himself, he could totally hang in the lineup and show you a thing to two, or he could be patient hanging out in the white wash teaching beginners.
The owner, Rachel, is a phenomenal person. Just like her initial emails, she was fully present with her guests. She gave friendly tips and suggestions to making the most of your time in Canggu. She made everyone feel like a local - it was great.
The only thing I’d do different … is stay longer! Nine days in country just wasn’t long enough. However, that just means I get to come back to The Pineapple House and hangout with new friends!
I spent 5 great days at the Pineapple House in Bali in April. I booked a surf and yoga package and everything has been above my expectations! Everything is perfect, the staff is incredibly welcoming and nice and Rachel is a great host, the house is peaceful and in a convenient location, a short ride to the beaches and close to restaurants and cafes. My room on the ground floor was very spacious, nice and clean. The organic breakfast is a great and the massage I received from Era is one of the best I have ever had. I was traveling alone and the Pineapple house is perfect for that, it’s a safe place, the guests are wisely selected and there is a great vibe. I had some surf and yoga classes with some of them and we had a great time. I had my first ever surf class and it was a great experience, I can’t think of a better way of learning, classes are very small (no more than three people) and Sunni, the teacher, is great. Overall, it’s been an amazing experience and I’ll definitely try to come back!
The Pineapple House is an amazing place to stay! If you are looking for great lodging, amazing staff and lots of R&R - Pineapple House is the best place to do it! It is in a convenient location that is a short scooter or cab ride to the beach with lots of restaurants and even a grocery store nearby. The staff is absolutely amazing and the most attentive people I've met while traveling! I knew our trip was off to a great start from the moment we were greeted at the airport with cold water to the moment we hugged all the staff goodbye. The daily breakfasts are a work of art and are scrumptious! Oh and yeah...you get something new every day...none of the toast with jam or scrambled eggs as the only options that you get at most other places. The lady in charge - Rachel - made sure we had everything we needed with daily check-ins and was a delight to get to know. The rest of people that Pineapple House partners with are simply the best: from an amazing surf coach that had me (a surfing newbie) standing on my board and riding waves in just a few sessions, to the magical spa therapist that worked out all of those surfing knots and offered the best natural treatments I've ever had :) I will definitely be coming back to the Pineapple House as soon as I can and bringing friends to a place that offers an unforgettable experience, rather than just a vacation.

The Pineapple House felt like a home from home, but with added luxury and peace! The staff really make the experience so special and the villa is gorgeous and welcoming. My stay was my second stay but this time I had the joy of showing my family what a special place The Pineapple House is and to enjoy it all over again with them. I'll be back for sure!
I recently spent four amazing days in Bali and cannot wait to return, my reason for returning would be Rachel and her wonderful staff at the Pineapple House. I booked the three day surf and yoga package and by the second day of surfing, I was riding the waves alone! (Thanks Sunni!) Each evening, I went next door for the sunset yoga classes which were invigorating and the perfect end to my day. Era, the manager is such a sweet soul and comes every day to oversee the villa, give one of her amazing included massages, and have nice chat over whatever amazing gluten free, organic breakfast Putu has beautifully concocted (I "stole" her muesli recipe! It's that good).
I didn't have the opportunity to participate in one of Rachel's yoga classes, but the other guests did and raved about it each morning. The vibe and energy of the Pineapple house is an indescribable one. The other guests are all like-minded, and looking for a positive, fun, and upbeat experience, which the pineapple more than provides. The rooms are decorated simply but add to the calming atmosphere. The location is perfect and close to the beach by scooter or taxi and allows you to explore canggu easily.
Era and Rachel are readily available to give restaurant recommendations and provide maps. I cannot express how wonderful I felt staying here and it absolutely won't be my last. Thank you Rachel, Era, Putu and Sunni. See you soon!

This was my second stay at the Pineapple House Bali and will certainly not be my last. I've found my home away from home!!! Its the gift that just keeps giving. Era and Rachel work round the clock to ensure everything is just right for you and cater perfectly to each individual. I spent a lot of time surfing so Rachel organised a bike with a surf rack upon arrival so i could head off to the beach and surf at my own leisure. There are surf lessons also with the lovely Sonny if you'd prefer. I had more of Era's amazing massages that leave you sleepy, relaxed and muscle ache free from surfing all day. My stay was for six nights and i had the best nights sleep. The rooms are large comfy and airy and very beautiful. There's plenty to do it if you'd prefer not to surf like swim in the pool or have Rachel take you for a private yoga class. There is an open space also for people to lounge so I got to know the other guests really well which was awesome for me traveling alone. I couldn't recommend the Pineapple House enough. It is very warm, friendly and super relaxing!

Had the best time at the Pineapple House in Bali hosted by the owner Rachel. I went with my best friend and we were able to surf, chill, shop, eat, party and do yoga both in group classes at any time we chose at Desa Seni right beside the house or with Rachel during private classes. There were a variety of yoga classes to choose from and it only took two minutes to walk to Desa Seni - very convenient! Rachel is really a host with the most and makes everything so natural and easy when you get to Bali. The pre-prepared phone full of handy numbers, healthy breakfast, surf teacher who picks you up for your lesson before hand and brings you to the beach - are just a few things that made the trip really amazing. The rooms are large and spacious with traditional Bali decor and a very pretty pool. The villa is really near Seminyak and taxis are easy to get to too. Absolutely loved it and will be back!!

We stayed on an adult family visit and every one of us had our needs met by Pineapple House and the team there. From the beautifully presented villa and rooms and carefully prepared breakfast, with seemingly infinite flexibility about timings, to the in-house massage and patient guidance and information about Canggu we could not have been better welcomed and cared for.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Pineapple House. The bedrooms are spacious and air-con, the living area is really great to relax in and the breakfasts are delicious. The staff are all really friendly and make you feel very welcome, and Rachel is every bit as helpful as you could need from a host. The free voucher for yoga next door at Desa Seni is a must. Would definitely recommend to anyone and stay again.

I've arrived in paradise on a balmy evening in Bali. I’m welcomed to my room and it's blessed with a beautiful view of a sunset over the ocean which can be seen across the paddy fields from my window. Both the decorative detail and the attention to the detail about the running of this place is amazing. Rachel has thought of it all, from the pre-arrival information, to surf lessons, massage and healthy breakfast.
Rachel is your friend and her handling of the place is effortless, achieving this with such laid back grace and elegance reflecting her wonderful yin yoga class should you be fortunate to try it. Yoga at Desa Seni next door is a delightful experience and the locality offers places to shop and eat and an incredible coast line within 5 minutes. Be prepared to want to extend your trip or return to this little paradise.
I stayed with Rachel at the Pineapple House back in October and can not recommend it enough. I was exhausted from working a job overseas and as soon as I arrived at the Pineapple House I could feel myself relax. The house is cozy and is set up in a way where it is really easy to meet the other guests. I loved all of the people I met while at The Pineapple House and remain in contact with them today even though we are from all over the world. A highlight was definitely the surf lessons that Rachel arranged. I had been surfing before, but I felt that my surfing really improved during my stay. The house is right next to Desa Seni which offers yoga classes. I only made it to one yoga class during my stay since I was so exhausted from surfing, but the class I did attend was great. Im never someone who writes reviews, but the Pineapple House definitely deserves five stars!
I would really recommend a stay at The Pineapple House. I stayed here with my BF for a Surf & Yoga retreat and we loved every minute of it. Rachel really makes you feel welcome and has a thousand tips for you. Putu makes the best (very healthy) breakfasts and the surf- and yoga lessons are just awesome.
I stayed at the Pineapple House the last of my three week trip. I had found it through a friend of a friend and it was the best part of my stay. I was so comfortable, it felt like a home. Rachel and her staff made my stay one I will always cherish. I had the room upstairs overlooking the rice fields. The house is beautiful in a great location very close to everything and just a 10 minute scooter ride to the busy Seminyak (shopping hub). I preferred the vibe in Canggu and the house is located right behind desa seni (yoga hotel which was amazingly beautiful too). I left safe in my own private castle sleeping inside a netted bed. Putu's amazing breakfast is something I still miss and Era's incredible massages. I will definitely stay at the Pineapple House again next time I come to Bali. It was truly an amazing experience for me and one place I would highly recommend visiting.

Rachel was wonderful, maintaining contact, providing advice and being super supportive and genuinely caring especially when I had to change my dates. Her driver picked me up from the airport and she met with with a stunning smile and warm welcome. My room had character and Putu ensured it was beautifully presented every day. The breakfasts are full of variety, fresh, imaginative and highly nourishing.Guests have access to cooking facilities but I found the offerings so plentiful nearby and reasonable I just made myself at home without cooking! The package (yoga) included three sessions and I also had two private sessions with Rachel who assisted me with some injury rehab. She is also more than willing to arrange activities and is a font of knowledge on local attractions and places to eat, markets to see, etc.In addition to all of this I did not expect to enjoy ( not that I am an isolate or anything weird but I was prepared for a solo experience- nevertheless if you don't want anything but your own company, rest assured it is available too) the company of five ( over my six days) other really interesting women and had the privilege of sharing laughter, some experiences and a slice of life that will remain with me long after the Bali sun has left my skin! And I hated it because in the end I had to come home. However, I am going back. I know, I know. All good reviews mention that. But I am. I have rebooked in six weeks time. If you are thinking about Pineapple House, don't take too long!!!

I stumbled across the beautiful Pineapple House by chance when the gorgeous Rachel offered me a room for two nights at the end of my stay at Desa Seni Resort next door. The volcanic ash meant that I could not return back home to Australia. Rachel welcomed me with friendliness and warmth. The villa was secure and private, behind a high wall. As I opened the front gate I was so surprised to see such a beautiful serene space. The villa is open and airy. The two bedrooms downstairs are spacious with king size beds and a day bed, an ensuite and walk in robe and air conditioning. There is a safe for your valuables. Each room is able to be locked when you leave the villa. A cute smaller room is upstairs with its own balcony overlooking the rice paddies. The pool is sparkling and inviting with lounges for sun baking and a cabana for shade. The lovely Putu makes a beautiful breakfast each morning and cleans your room and makes your bed each day. Ever tried black rice pudding with banana and shredded coconut for breakfast! A taste sensation! I have never before seen a towel shaped into an elephant, such are Putu's skills. Rachel is full of information about the area and activities available. The yoga classes at Desa Seni resort next door are free for people staying at Pineapple House! Rachel is also a fully qualified yoga teacher as well and encouraged me to try a headstand, which I succeeded in doing with her support, my first headstand at 56 years old!! What a highlight. There were two other girls staying at the villa when I stayed there who were delightful. I would highly recommend a stay at Pineapple House. Rachel makes it feel like a home away from home. The surrounding area of Canggu is really becoming the place to be with gorgeous cafes, shops, restaurants and beach bars. Thank you Rachel and Putu for looking after me!

Pineapple House is a fantastic place to stay if you want to experience all the charm of Canggu - from fantastic surfing to world-class yoga (next door at Desa Seni), relaxing massages, incredible food and sunsets in the surrounding area, and a relaxed, laid-back vibe. Canggu is a lot less hectic than nearby Seminyak, but its restaurants are easily reached from the location of the property. Rachel treated us like old friends, taking us to yoga workshops with her, eating meals with us and chatting with us for hours on end. Having her knowledge of the area and guidance meant we really got the most out of our trip, and she was always on hand to answer any questions. The room was gorgeous - and huge - the breakfasts divine, and our stay unforgettable. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
I stayed at the Pineapple house for four nights in July and I wish I stayed longer! The villa feels like a home away from home, and with only two other rooms on-site it feels cosy, safe and friendly. I can't even begin to describe my favourite part of my stay but my highlights include my private yoga lesson with Rachel, numerous yoga sessions next door at Desa Seni, the amazing breakfasts by Putu (onsite breakfast expert) and the numerous engaging conversations I had with Rachel and others who were staying there. The Pineapple house is a very unique set up, but that's its appeal, it is truely somewhere you can escape the hustle and bustle of the tourist routes and really feel settled into the Bali lifestyle.I can't recommend this place enough, and I am already planning on visiting again soon! The only downside I would air is that I had frogs and lizards visiting my room most nights I was there, as the villa borders a rice field the wild life gets a bit curious and wonders in.

The Pineapple House in Canggu is a very special place with a unique atmosphere. With only three rooms it is a rather small place with a familiar atmosphere. It is more like living in a luxurious shared flat. As one can book an individual package tailored to ones own needs, everybody in the house has a own daily routine. Therefore The Pineapple House is a place where you can spend time on your own or if you want, spent time with your "flatmates". It is a place that attracts like-minded people who all have interesting stories to tell and a lot to give. That is not a big surprise though, as Rachel who manges the place herself has plenty of funny and interesting stories to tell and interesting insights to offer. For yogis or soon to be yogis it is perfectly located next to one of the best yoga Shalas in Bali (Desa Seni). Therefore make sure that you have a few yoga lessons included in your package, as you get vouchers that you can use for classes at Desa Seni. In The Pineapple House you not only get the best yoga classes but also the best surf lessons with one of the most professional surf coaches that I've ever had (and I have had few). Also take enough money with for massages. Raj comes to the house and gives the most amazing massages with her magical hands.I could go on about this fantastic place forever. It is hard tough to really express what it is like and therefore I advice you to drop in and find out yourself. You will definitely not regret it.
The Pineapple House is a beautiful Balinese-style property with amazing indoor / outdoor flow, lined with tropical plants, and a sparkling blue pool.We stayed for one week and it was very peaceful and relaxing. The location is great with Desa Seni next door and the best entertainment venues a quick scooter ride away. Rachel, the host, is a lovely and very friendly person who accommodated all our needs and made sure our stay was the best it could be.The homemade breakfasts were also amazing, healthy and delicious. If you are heading to Canggu and want stay somewhere locally themed, modern, clean, and relaxing, then look no further - The Pineapple house is the right fit. Great wifi too! :)

We've been travelling the world over the past year, and this is the only place we've decided to go back to a second time. Rachel makes the vacation whatever you want it to be. We opted for sunrise surfing, followed by an incredible home made breakfast, then off to explore the island, mountain bike, yoga, or just relax at the amazing Pineapple House. We can't wait to get back there! Rachel and her staff are incredibly helpful with whatever you want to do. We recommend doing whatever it takes to spend a week or two at this fantastic spot! Room tip: All the rooms are great!
I stayed at The Pineapple House for 4 days in April. The house is in Canggu, which is pretty chilled out, and it overlooks beautiful rice paddies. The beach is only about a 10 minute walk away. The room I stayed in was huge, with probably the biggest bed I've ever slept on. The outdoors ensuite bathroom was very cool.Rachel is an incredibly friendly and helpful hostess, and was always on hand if I needed any tips or suggestions. Probably the highlight for me was the food. Delicious and healthy meals cooked fresh every day on the premises. I loved it!
Staying at the wonderful Pineapple House was such a great experience for me!I was searching for a place where I could do (and learn) yoga as much as I want, where I could focus on myself, relax and just having a good time. Canggu is a great spot for this with all the nice cafes, restaurants and beaches!I was overwhelmed by the beauty space, the villa, the pool, and the lovely and cute "Gingerbread" (the cutest little young cat in the world!). I really felt at home, not least because of the best host ever: Rachel! She is such a inspiring person to talk to and discuss with. Beside being our great private yoga teacher, she helped us organize everything!During my stay at the villa, we were three people living there. Everybody had their own schedule, but most evenings we went out for dinner together. I really loved the mix of being for my own, learning yoga and making new friends, doing trips together to the surroundings!I would definitely recommend a stay at the Pineapple house and I would love to go there again! Thank you so much Rachel!

I visited The Pineapple House towards the end of my seven week stay in Bali, and it was without doubt, one of the highlights. From the beginning, the owner, Rachel, exuded warmth and friendliness - nothing was too much trouble. The villa is a hidden gem in Canggu - with world class yoga only steps away. Rachel did everything she could to ensure we visited the best bars, surf spots and restaurants just moments away. If you are looking to relax and still remain active - this is the perfect place. It has the feeling of a private home, and if you stay for longer you really get under the skin of Canggu. Rachel has real insider knowledge after having lived in Bali for some time. The rooms are immaculate, with everything you need. Breakfasts are beautifully presented and super healthy. I highly recommend the place - and can't wait to return.

When my two friends and I arrived, Rachel greeted us with open arms and shared all the great places to go and party places for each day of the week! She knows the area well and will set you up with surf lessons and even have a beer with you down at Old Man's. The place was spotless and the king size bed was huge, so my friend and I enjoyed a comfortable sleep! The breakfast was also amazing. And it's awesome to have a pool right outside your bedroom.
The position was awesome as it was so close to the beach as well as the night life and shopping. Sort of in the middle of everything but via quiet roads (relative to crazy busy ones). Staying there was like being in a relaxed oasis away from the madness with great service, meals and atmosphere. It suited me and my family perfectly - which is not always easy! ha! ha!
Arriving for the first time in Bali I was greeted by Rachel at The Pineapple House in Canggu. Her sincere aspiration to make my stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible streamed out of her smile, her warmth and her kindness. The place exuded a sense of relaxation and joy and I felt like I was in my family home. The pool onsite gave me the feeling I was in a delicious private resort and the attention to detail of the facilities and the service added to this. Rachel, a luminescent spirit, a yogi and a passionate coach was full of insight and information. She really listened and connected, giving her guidance with a tailor-made approach based on what I wanted and what I needed. She was also always available on mobile and popped in with harmonious timing to check everything was ok and offer her assistance further. In the morning I walked next door (literally) to practice yoga and immerse in the serenity of Desa Seni eco resort. Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as beaches and experiences awaited me in such close proximity, either direction of The Pineapple House. Everything felt easy, accessible and smooth. Simply a gorgeous place, a gorgeous host and a beautiful experience to be had The Pineapple House. I would stay there again in a heart beat.
I really wanted to have a relaxing time in Bali without having to organize everything for myself, but didn't want to sign up for a fully fledged retreat. The Pineapple House was the best of both worlds! Rachel (the owner) was there to help me organise everything I wanted to do, but I chose my own timetable and I wasn't locked into anything. The Pineapple House is a beautiful villa with clean, spacious rooms with private bathrooms, and a really welcoming common area with a pool. Since I was travelling on my own, it was really nice to be able to talk to other guests occasionally, or just have privacy in my own room. It is just a really nice, welcoming, unpretentious and relaxing space. And it's right next door to one of the best yoga retreats in Bali, so you can choose to do as many classes as you like. Canggu is a really cool area, not crazy like Kuta or up itself like Seminyak. There are some awesome restaurants near The Pineapple House, and Rachel helped me to rent a scooter so that I could get to them all.I would definitely stay at The Pineapple House again, and I would recommend it to anyone going to Bali.

I was looking for a place in Bali where I could base myself and relax so that I could then explore the surrounding surf spots. The Pineapple House was a pocket of paradise that instantly felt like my dream home and I soon realised that I never wanted to leave! Rachel, the owner, is totally inspiring (also a yoga teacher and life coach), welcoming and knowledgeable. She had drawn me a map of all the surf spots and her local knowledge of where the best yoga studios, markets, restaurants and ding repairers meant I could instantly get stuck in and get the best of what Canggu and the surrounding area had to offer. If you're looking for a really personal experience in a stunning villa (my room was beautiful, fresh, super clean and really comfortable) then I really recommend The Pineapple House. Rachel really makes it, and you can tell that she's really passionate about making sure you have an amazing time.Oh, one last thing, the breakfasts are amazing! I was in food heaven! Everything was super healthy, tasty, colourful, and beautifully presented. I didn't want it to end!In conclusion, I highly recommend The Pineapple House and just wish I was back there myself!

I stayed at The Pineapple House at the end of a two week trip on Bali island and it was the perfect homely retreat after ten days in a mix of hotels and hostels and non-stop roaming, trekking, sightseeing and partying around the island. The owner, Rachel (who was just lovely by the way, so helpful and welcoming!) arranged for me to be collected from my accommodation and driven to The Pineapple House.Stepping over the threshold into the open plan garden/living area, complete with calm turquoise pool and cushioned areas to relax after a long day, I knew I would be able to unwind here. The vibe was so chilled and my room was gorgeous. A big four poster bed with lots of pillows and my own outdoor bathroom Aaaaah, bliss!Planning my day was easy and the surfing and yoga was flexible and non-fussy which was just what suited me. Some days I lay around the pool or spent the morning by the beach. Others I had a massage and talked about life and the world with the owner, who was able to share her knowledge of the tastiest places to eat in the area and the cool places to grab a drink and watch the sun set.Would recommend it to anyone looking to do some surf or yoga in Bali, or even just experience a hip area where the people who actually live in Bali hang out in fact, I wish I lived there all year round!
