Accommodation

1. Grand cottage

Grand cottages are spacious, comfortable, and beautiful to look at. Built among lush trees for a very pleasant stay and a relaxing time in connection with nature. The unique location in the middle of the volcanoes of Fuego, Agua, and Acatenango offers a breathtaking scenery for your stay. Mainly built with ecological and environmentally friendly materials. Bamboo raised from a stone wall provides durability to the structure as well as a natural and contrasting aspect between the materials used.

The architecture is inspired by volcanoes and Native American teepees. A pyramidal shape with an octagonal base using principles of sacred geometry provides a homogeneous and pleasant climate inside, energizes the interior, as it was known by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, and ensures a restful sleep and energy flow for mental relaxation and meditation.

Facilities

  • Two double beds with comfortable and complete bedding
  • Private bathroom with shower and hot water
  • Large windows to ensure bright natural illumination
  • Mezzanine for reading, resting, meditation, or personal practices like yoga and Tai Chi
  • Trunk for storage of suitcases or large items

2. Glamping cabins

Glamping cabins are affordable, with wide spaces and beautiful organic design. Settled beneath gardens with an outstanding view of the volcanoes. You will be glamping in the woods with all basic commodities like a bed, a nightstand, a hard roof, and solar electricity for your convenience. A-Shape structure bamboo constructed with a wooden floor raised a few feet from the ground creates a cozy and natural atmosphere for your resting time. Birds and a cozy breeze will make your days pleasant and in full contact with nature.

Facilities

  • Two twin beds with comfortable and complete bedding
  • Shared bathrooms (three glamping sharing two toilets, one shower, and one full bathroom)
  • Tent-like entrance and a large window to ensure bright natural illumination
  • Nightstand

Program

This deep-immersion Ayahuasca retreat includes more than one Ayahuasca ceremony and other practices that enhance the healing and growth process. All activities are completely legal in Guatemala. The medicines Santuario Tonkiri imports from the Amazon are brought in under customs declaration. The medicines are administered as part of a treatment that must be adapted to the individuals who come seeking healing. To give you an example regarding the widely known Ayahuasca, many people believe that all participants in a ceremony must take an amount that causes them to have strong visions, but this is not the case. They welcome people to ceremonies who sometimes do not take Ayahuasca, or take very small amounts, just to connect with the power of the ikaros (medicinal songs).

Main practices

You can choose one of the activities below to participate in on the non-Ayahuasca day.

  • Temazcal ritual (Sweat lodge)
  • Maya fire ceremony and Maya cross reading
  • Private yoga class (Ashtanga, Hatha, or Vinyasa)
  • Restorative massage or bodywork session
  • Sacred sounds and music session

About the retreat

Three disciplines you practice here are carriers of lineage, each in their respective traditions.

1. Amazonian medicine

The hosts are bearers of two bloodlines or lineages of many generations, Shipiba and Mestizo. They have been practitioners of the “Master Plant Dietas” for almost two decades, receiving teachings from their masters and the plants' spirits with enormous powers as Ajoskiro and Ayahuma, and enlightening, loving energies as El Noya Rao and Bobinsana.

2. Maya cosmology

They also serve your growth and self-realization through Mayan cosmology, having received “vara,” that is, being bearers of knowledge from a line of Mayan Quiché wisdom that has been safeguarded for hundreds of years.

3. Yoga

The yoga practice (Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hatha, or Restorative) also respects the discipline of “Parampara” established at the beginning of Vinyasa Ashtanga Yoga by Pathabi Jois, a disciple of Krishnamacharya, founder of the yoga lineage you know today. The teacher is therefore certified by KPJAYI.
