Your accommodation is a spacious and beautiful house with an amazing garden. The bedrooms, each with countryside views, are as follows: four twin en suite rooms, one double en suite (for single occupancy), and two double rooms, each for single occupancy with a shared bathroom. Thoughtful touches and beautifully decorated throughout, you will feel at home as well as spoiled during your stay. Pretty Gritty will gladly pair you with another Pretty Gritty lady in a twin room.
Program
You will join three guided walks led by qualified sports coaches, in the stunning Cumbrian countryside, with a picnic stop on the long hike day. The longest walk during the holiday from July 17th to 19th will be approximately 10 miles and will have quite a lot of elevation gain. The longest walk on the July 19th - 21st program will be approximately six miles. Practice two yoga sessions with expert instructors in the comfort of the private studio at the house, equipment provided. There is an opportunity to experience fresh water dipping in the beautiful rivers around Sedbergh, supervised by qualified lifeguards. The wild swimming will take place in local rivers.
The Howgill Fells and surrounding area are a simply beautiful part of Cumbria. Rugged and undisturbed, the scenery on your hikes is stunning. The terrain can be challenging, with hills and rough ground, so a certain level of good fitness is required. You can enjoy a relaxing time in a hammock back at the house as a reward afterward. Safety is always Pretty Gritty's main priority, so a judgment will be made on water levels, speed of the flow, etc., before each dip.
The yoga is either in the calm and tranquil studio at the house or on a sunny day, out on the deck with amazing Howgill Fell views. The ice bath is available for your use during your stay. You will also have a one-hour sauna session with ice bath or garden shower intervals during the retreat. This program is great fun with friends, but they equally welcoming to solo travelers.
