Program

Paje by Night is open year-round except mid of April and May. The best windy months are June, July, August, September to mid-October, and December to mid-February. Mid October to December and mid-February to mid-April are not known as very windy. However good windy days can always happen.

Kitesurfing is tide and wind-dependent so it is not really possible to create a precise daily schedule. The kite surfing lessons will occur at some time during the day. Each session is typically two hours of private, one-on-one, kite surfing tuition.

This yoga holiday consists typically one morning drop-in-led class (mostly Ashtanga Vinyasa / Hatha Flow / Kundalini ) and one afternoon drop-in-led yoga class (mostly Yin / Yoga Nidra / Meditation / Sound Healing ) every day, except on Sundays. Arrival day or departure day is depending on your travel schedule. Malika (the teacher) is very flexible, and adapts her schedule to the wishes of her students, feel free to ask :).

A 60-minute massage at the massage salon is also included in the price.

Ashtanga yoga is a rigorous, active, dynamic, energetic, sweaty, physically demanding practice that requires synchronization between breath and movements. Malika teaches these lessons vinyasa style. These active lessons are in the morning.

Hatha is a traditional style of yoga that is known for its focus on physical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama). The asanas are used to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Pranayama exercises help to control the flow of prana (life energy) and enhance the mind-body connection. Attention is given to the proper alignment of the body in each posture, which can help prevent injury and improve effectiveness of the practice. Hatha lessons often include periods of relaxation and meditation, promoting mental clarity and stress reduction.

Kundalini is an energetic style of yoga focused on activating the kundalini energy in the chakras. It is a spiritual practice that involves breathing, chanting and repetitive poses. Once you love it, you cannot go without.

The afternoon class is a less active yoga style. It consists mostly of a combination of Hatha, Yin yoga and Yoga Nidra, combined with sound healing and meditation. Other styles can be implemented, even to do aqua yoga in the pool on very hot days. The teacher is flexible and adapts the schedule to the wishes of the students in case you want to practice other styles.

Yin Yoga targets deep connective tissues by long-held passive stretches, and is designed to complement more dynamic styles of yoga. The passive poses are mostly done seated or lying down an are held for 3 to 5 minutes. Muscles are relaxed, allowing deep tissue release and increasing flexibility. Yin yoga is best practiced with a meditative approach, releasing tension in mind and body allowing a deep sense of inner calmness. Overall Yin Yoga is beneficial for improving flexibility, reducing stress and enhancing mindfulness, making it a valuable practice for both physical and mental well-being.

Yoga Nidra is a yoga style focused on relaxation, it is also known as yogic sleep, and is a simplified form of an ancient tantric relaxation technique. They say that 10 minutes of Yoga Nidra equates to about 4 hours of sleep!

Some morning lessons are given at the beachfront rooftop from Zanzibarista coffee house (150 m distance) on some days and at the shala in the hotel’s garden for the rest of the days.

After the lessons at Zanzibarista you can enjoy a fresh brewed cappuccino or ice cold homemade lemonade overlooking the quiet lagune from the Indian Ocean from your lounge seat.

The rest of the day is entirely up to you, you can spend it relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, walking on the beach, hanging out in a hammock, and still, there is time to go on excursions and explore the island.

Important note:

Please be aware that the teachers' and instructors' profile are the teachers that are in-house now. Most already work with them longtime. If your booking happens to be in the future, the teacher might be another one. However, rest assured it is a qualified teacher. Let them know at the time of the booking if you have any concerns.

The Bali Spa

Asih was born in Jakarta in June 1973. She is a qualified physiotherapist and a professional masseuse with many years of experience. If you are not sure which massage to take, after a brief talk and sensing your body she will be able to give you her suggestion or to recommend the best combination of services for you. If you are frail or stiff she will be able to adjust manipulation to your level of comfort. It’s her challenge to make you feel good, be happy, and energetic!

Face massage

A great anti-aging skincare in itself. Stimulating the face muscles with a massage increases the level of oxygen and blood circulation in that area hence the production of collagen which gives a healthy and natural glow to the skin.

Face massage and Lurlur

If you want to get the best out of your face massage combine it with Lulur. Lulur is a traditional royal ritual done 40 days before the wedding to prepare the skin for the big night. The first step is scrubbing with rice flour, turmeric, and yogurt to exfoliate and remove the dead cells, then comes the massage and after that a mask that can be honey-based (if you want to lift your skin) or aloe vera-based (if you want to soothe it after a day in the sun). The result is baby-soft skin with an enchanting look and feel.

Sports massage

That can be a pre-event, a post-event, or a maintenance massage. Pre-event massage is done to stimulate the flow of blood and loosen the muscles. Post-event massage is light and gentle on already stressed muscles. It helps loosen tired, stiff muscles; alleviate soreness; remove lactic acid and maintain flexibility. Maintenance massages are done to maintain the ideal conditions. Can be performed with or without oil.

Reflexology

The theory behind reflexology is that specific points and areas on feet, hands, and ears are connected to specific organs and body systems. Appropriate pressure to these specific points and areas stimulates the nervous system and releases tension and stress.

Exotic Java and Bali massage

These traditional oil-based massage has been used for centuries in Indonesia. They both combine feet reflexology, deep thumb pressure, stroking, and circular kneading palm movements to break down tensely knotted muscles, stimulate the body's lymphatic system and blood circulation. While Balinese massage is stronger and rougher, the Javanese one is softer.

Ask for advice if you are not sure which one to choose. The two can also be combined to work differently on each specific area. They both deliver a sense of wellbeing and deep relaxation.

Yoga Thai massage

The Yoga Thai massage consists of slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body's energy lines using the palms of the hands, thumbs, elbows, and feet. Practitioners also position the body into yoga-like poses and gently rock it to open the joints and facilitate limbering. The massage can be performed with or without oil and you will need to wear loose-fitting.

Relaxing Swedish massage

Relax your senses with a full body treatment using Zanzibar spice oils to calm your nervous system and leave you completely at peace.

Lymphatic drainage massage

This detoxifying massage uses light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes and soft pumping movements to improve the flow of lymph which brings oxygen and nutrients to the cell collecting toxins on the way and flushing them out through the lymph nodes. It helps boost the immune system, reduce water retention, clean skin pores, fight cellulite.

It is perfect after a long flight.

Deep tissue massage

The deep tissue massage works the deeper layers of muscles and the surrounding connective tissue by applying firm pressure and slow strokes, using the palms of the hands, elbows, and forearms. It is ideal to remove blockage around painful, contracted areas such as a stiff neck, sore shoulders, upper and low back pain, legs muscles tightness. It’s done with oil.

Spa recommendations

Notify the spa manager or receptionist before booking your treatment if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, allergies, or other physical ailments or disabilities.
