Surfing
Do you want to surf the best waves Bali has to offer while staying in comfortable accommodations with other traveling surfers? Look no further; you have found Bali's premier surf camp, run by surfers for surfers. They offer surf guiding for advanced surfers or surf lessons for beginner and intermediate surfers. Padang Padang Surf Camp specializes in teaching complete newbies who have never surfed before, or if you want to progress your surfing quickly, then they also offer private surf lessons. They are located in arguably the world's best surfing destination.
The surf instructors and surf guides are professional and highly motivated. They are determined to get you the best waves and ensure you have a surfing holiday that you will never forget. While it is very sociable here and you will go out for dinner as a group regularly, it is important that you know this is not a party camp. They are a sunrise surf camp and typically the first surf session will be at first light. The focus here is very much on surfing and yoga.
The highlight of the surfing program is the photo reviews and video reviews where you will receive a technical analysis of your surfing in a classroom environment. Padang Padang Surf Camp has a huge variety of both hard-top and soft-top surfboards. Your hosts opened the first surf camp and surf school on the Bukit and have the best-qualified surf instructors in Bali. There are advocates of yoga and have a beautiful open-air studio for you to explore.
Yoga
The luxurious open-air yoga studio is the perfect place to partake in the ancient practice of yoga. Bali is known for its spirituality and close connection with yoga. Participants are welcome regardless of age, fitness, or level of experience. You will learn yoga from a highly experienced local instructor who will gently guide you through the session in a supportive group environment.
The yoga classes are an hour long and are typically in the mid-late afternoon, the absolute perfect precursor before heading to Uluwatu to enjoy and appreciate the breathtaking evening sunset. Whether it is your first time or if you have been practicing for years, you will hopefully learn something new and discover a new level of strength and balance from each session.
1. Hatha yoga
Hatha is a general style that encompasses a lot of styles of yoga. It is defined by its slow pace with an emphasis on the breath, making it a more meditative style of yoga. Great for beginners, or older people, who may be looking for gentle ease into the practice of yoga.
2. Power yoga
Power yoga is an intensive form of yoga that is fast-paced and is sure to get your heart rate up and make you work hard. It will make you sweat and get the endorphins flowing. Power is perfect for anyone who is looking to improve their strength and fitness with this high-intensity style of practice.
3. Iyengar yoga
Iyengar is a unique form of yoga that concentrates on the alignment of the postures (asanas). This attention to your posture is important and it allows you to focus and let you understand your body better.
4. Vinyasa yoga
Vinyasa (also known as Vinyasa flow) is a form of yoga that strings pose together in coordination with your breath to create a sequence and is one of the most contemporary styles of yoga.

Instructors
Markus Devy
The retreat leader Markus Davy (ERYT500) takes nonsense seriously. As a decades-long yoga teacher / practitioner and dedicated surfer, he has developed a unique approach to teaching that explores the relationship between self-discipline and play. Having explored a wide variety of yoga and movement systems, Markus offers a style all his own which encourages self-exploration and a willingness to ‘colour outside the lines’. Inspired by nature in all its forms, Markus considers the ocean his primary teacher — drawing from it a profound understanding of the human condition.
Wayan Richie
Richie, our head surf instructor, leads a team of 10 other instructors. Richie has deep roots in the local surf community. Growing up near Bingin, his favorite wave, he’s been immersed in the sport from an early age. With a decade of experience coaching international surfers, particularly from Japan and Europe, Richie has led numerous surfing trips to Lembongan, Lombok, and Sumbawa, where he explored renowned spots like Scar Reef and Super Suck. When not at the beach, he devotes time to cultural ceremonies and tending to his family land. Richie admires surfers like Kelly Slater and Luke Egan.
Randy Wayan
Randy is our deputy head surf instructor. Having grown up in a family of fishermen in Kuta, Randy was taught to surf at an early age by his father. At the age of 16, he won an international RipCurl Grom Search surfing contest in Canggu, and still surfs professionally to this day. Passionate about coaching, he enjoys imparting his inherited ocean wisdom during surf lessons. His Favorite surf break is Racetrack at Uluwatu and Desert Point in Lombok. In his free time, Randy enjoys fishing and teaching his young son to surf. Sponsor: moonrocksclothing
