Keep an Open Mind...
If you are a Bondi yogi babe looking for a great weekend getaway with the gals... THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!
To be honest, it wasn't really the place for me either. The friends I was with, were definitely a lot more open than I was, especially when we realised that it was more about mediation and sitting still (which my back doesn't like at all), however even they wanted to leave after we spent the 4th-hour chanting.
I was also extremely creeped out by the history of Mangrove Yoga, but once you are there and pull into the grounds, it is absolutely beautiful. Well manicured and feels really welcoming. The receptionist was so nice. Didn't explain much but was really helpful and quietly funny.
We found an amazing hike up to the top of the cliff face, which was so incredibly beautiful upon sunset, which makes s all a little more zen, and get away from everyone and take in our personal thoughts of the retreat.
The food was really nice and I'm someone who eats many times in the day, so I was pretty happy to have lunch/ snack/ dinner/ breakfast/ snack/ lunch.
MOST of the residents were lovely. Some were very obviously unimpressed we were in their space and we all felt as if they didn't really give a toss about helping us to enjoy the experience but just thought only about themselves and their jobs. No one really said good morning or smiled that much.
It was definitely an experience I'm glad we did but I probably won't go back
