Retraite Le Puget is a secluded estate of 24 acres in rural Languedoc, capable of accommodating up to 19 guests. In the distance are the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees. Languedoc is known for its glorious weather, great food and wine, medieval castles, and market towns. The venue sits on 12 acres of land, and contains two accommodation buildings: The Auberge and The Farmhouse. These buildings surround the olive-tree courtyard. The Auberge has seven bedrooms - six of which have ensuite bathrooms with a bath and shower, a communal bathroom, a pool-lounge living room, a rustic dining hall, and a kitchen.
The farmhouse has two bedrooms, a communal bathroom, and a large kitchen, dining, or living room encompassing the whole ground floor. Both buildings have their own garden and patio space, and have access to the greater grounds. The greater grounds consist of 20 acres, which contain stables (complete with riding school and instructors), a communal swimming pool, a lake, and walking trails.
The Auberge
The Auberge is an 'L-shape' building too large to fit into a single photo. The ground floor consists of a kitchen with two dishwashers, two sinks, a family-size stove, a rustic dining hall, complete with a piano, a log burner, and capable of seating 16 people; and a lounge area complete with a library, a pool table, and a television area.
The olive-tree courtyard
The olive-tree courtyard serves many functions. Its fairy-like setting and peaceful backdrop make it a perfect place to hang out in the day, play guitar, journal, or shoot the breeze. It also serves as an outdoor dining room throughout the warmer months, when accompanied by candlelight.
The farmhouse
The farmhouse is the smaller, more secluded accommodation building. Upstairs, it has two bedrooms and a communal bathroom. Whilst the whole of downstairs forms the open-plan kitchen, dining area for eight, and living room.
Double bedroom with ensuite
Every room has a window, a dressing area with a table and a wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and a shower.
Farmhouse open-plan ground floor
The farmhouse kitchen and lounge area. There is also a dining area in this space, out of shot, to the left.
Communal swimming pool
The swimming pool is open from May to September.
Twin room in the Auberge
This particular room has a window to the left of the shot, and an ensuite with bath and shower on the other side of the painting wall.
Program
Instructors have been teaching for 20 years. Le Puget has more than enough experience to cater to everyone. And exercise can be more rewarding when you are out of shape because gains come quicker.
Who is the retreat for?
The retreat is for anyone who wants a break. The retreat is for anyone who wants to rest and recharge. The retreat is for anyone who wants to kick-start a healthier life.
What type of yoga will it be?
Le Puget provides a yoga practice to match your needs on any given day. The yoga practices are based on traditional Hatha yoga. Each yoga class they provide is unique. The experienced instructors base the classes on your ability level, your energy levels that day, and the time of day. The morning classes are designed to help you approach the day feeling rejuvenated. And their evening classes are designed to calm your mind and your nervous system for a restful night's sleep. In simple terms, they give you the type of yoga practice you need to feel fantastic in yourself, every time you come to the mat.
Workshops
Workshops give you a chance to explore a range of health and fitness subjects in depth. Dan Sarkozi will be on hand to answer whatever questions are prominent in your mind when it comes to maintaining your health. There is no limit to the topics they cover. Common topics for the workshops include: meditation, nutrition, and the effects of societal expectations on mental health. The workshops also include exercise from time to time.
Exercise-based workshops may cover topics such as: perfecting specific yoga postures (inversions and arm balances tend to be popular), breathing exercises, and animal-movement-based workouts.
