This is one of the coolest farms I have every seen. The way they live really makes you rethink a lot about your own life. They were very accommodating and made you feel at home. Both Juan and Carla speak English making it easy to talk and get to know them. Would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking a get away!

Carla, Juan and the four girls are wonderful. Without them the retreat would not be complete. They were extremely hospitable and their cooking was amazing! The yoga was also to a very high standard.

As I expected the retreat to be catered for beginners as well, I was a bit surprised to see the high level that everyone was at. As a result I received quite a major injury and was hospitalised for a week as a result and had to receive subsequent medical care for a month. So with that in mind, make sure you check out previous injuries with a doctor as they are unable to provide alternative movements with so many other students. The facilities are basic but good value for money.

My stay couldn't have been better:) the family is super nice and kind. The food was absolutely delicious and the yoga classes are very heavy sometimes but juan is a wonderful and very experienced teacher. Juan and his wife carla included me in every other activity so that i could get to know the argentinian country life:) the place and the houses they have created is magical and from the first Moment i felt totally relaxed and happy! To everyone who loves to practice yoga and to be in a quite area with nice people and animals, i highly recommend to stay with carla and juan and their beautiful daughters at Tierras de avalon! :)

The retreat was OKAY (not as good as expected).

The family running it were wonderful and very nice - especially Carla, who was very warm, but it felt more like visiting a family members house instead of a retreat. It was very informal, with most nights eating around the family dinner table with the little kiddies, or being in tow whilst Juan tended to personal errands. The farm itself is beautiful, but it was quite noisy with the neighbours house under construction, the kids running around in the garden and loads of dogs barking, especially at night.

The weekend event was very interesting with Andre coming to do the voice om'ing and voice guided meditation which I loved, but unfortunately, the entire thing was in advanced Spanish and so I was not able to fully take advantage of what was being said. My Spanish is conversational level and I mentioned this to Juan that I'm having a hard time understanding some of the yoga moves/meditation etc, but unfortunately Juan's English was basic and it was all conducted in advanced Spanish which I couldn't understand. A lot of the time I had to guess what was happening and follow the crowd.

They advertise that they speak English and I was under the impression that the classes would be done in Spanish and English, but unfortunately it was only in Spanish for the entire week. They did provide me with a free massage to compensate for this, which was very nice of them. After spending a whole week on the farm, Juan didn't come to say goodbye when I left, which I was disappointed in.

It depends on what you're looking for - if you're up for a very, VERY informal break on a farm with advanced Spanish yoga classes and delicious food, then this is the place, but don't expect a retreat. I definitely came back feeling more flexible, but not as relaxed as I had hoped.

I have had a wonderful time at Tierras de Avalon. I booked this retreat as a preparation before starting travelling in Argentina.

I felt very at home there, welcomed by Juan and Carla and their 4 daughters, in particular Jasmin, who is old enough (8) to engage and help me with my Spanish. The yoga was challenging for me (beginner) but it was high quality teaching. The food was simple and lovely, mostly from the garden. We took nearly all the meals together with Juan and Carla. The accommodation is basic and good. The whole atmosphere is relaxed with space to just be. It's 1 hour in collectivo to go to Buenos Aires but I had no wish to leave! The place is a little paradise, even the animals are friendly. If it was closer to home I would keep going back regularly!

We enjoyed a weeks retreat at Las Tierras de Avalon. We were here as a family of two adults and a 9 year old boy. Juan and Carla are super nice and made us feel a part of their wonderful family. We had several yoga classes, both Hatha, Ashtanga and more playful family-yoga classes. The quality of the yoga was very high and took individual skill levels into account, so that everybody was appropriately challenged. Classes all finished with relaxation, which was very nice.

The food served is vegetarian and super delicious! There is always coffee, tea and fruits available. The surroundings are very relaxing and there are places to just enjoy the weather. The room we lived in was quite special and build to fit into the surroundings and spirit of the place. There are many animals at Las Tierras de Avalon, a cat, dogs, horses, a sheep, a llama, ducks and chickens. They are all friendly and especially the dogs like to be petted.

This is the perfect place to spend any amount of time relaxing, reflecting and doing yoga. We highly recommend it.

Juan, Carla and his family are very welcoming into their home. There was a relaxed nature about the week, with a few fun activities to keep me busy, whilst enjoying the setting, the amazing array of animals they have, and of course playing with Juan's four gorgeous girls! The yoga was fantastic, at times challenging yet so rewarding, taking me into deep relaxation and connection with my body and mind. Las Tierras de Avalon would be a great place to take children as well, there is so much exploring to do around the garden! Also Juan is fantastic teacher, especially with children and sharing his yoga with them!

We stayed for one week at Las Tierras and felt very much welcomed by the whole family. Juan, Carla and the girls were very sweet and open-minded. The houses and the garden are just beautiful, with ducks, a pony, lamas, dogs, a cat ...like a little oasis. Juan is a very good yoga teacher and we love the great vegetarian food. The work was fun: helping in the garden, in the kitchen or just playing with the kids. Las Tierras de Avalon is not a remote "retreat" - there is always something going on with four kids and three dogs running around. For us it was even some kind of adventure - as it took us some courage to live with all the insects. True Hippies - go there.

I had a wonderful week with Juan, Carla and their four lovely children at Las Tierras de Avalon. I was warmly welcomed with open arms, immediately made to feel part of the family - all meals were shared together, I was invited to join several outings with Juan or Carla, I was helped with my Spanish by the eldest daughter and the family always made sure I was happy. The yoga practice took place once to twice a day and was challenging, varied and very productive. After a week I have developed both theoretical and practical skills. Juan is an attentive and creative teacher who offers lessons of high quality. I was even given a private belly dancing lesson by Carla which was fantastic. The house and surroundings are also truly tranquil and beautiful. I highly recommend anyone to stay with these lovely people to get to see a side of Argentina that no hotel or hostel can offer. Thank you for a great week!
