"Fantastic Retreat! "
This was a great retreat, you can tell there was a lot of thought put into the structure and layout of the program and that they have taken previous feedback and made changes to provide an even better experience. Andreas and Ulrika were very welcoming with great energy; such fantastic hosts. The yoga was accessible to all levels and the yoga center was beautiful. I loved doing yoga in nature, on top a mountain, in a valley, on a black sand beach. The places we visited were beautiful and I thought the hikes were well selected for a group of varied experience levels. The selected restaurants were delicious and unique locations that I wouldn't have stumbled upon myself. I loved going in the fall but would love to go back in the winter and go dog sledding and have a better chance of seeing the northern lights. I definitely recommend this retreat!

Review of Inspiration Iceland
Reviewed 3 weeks ago
This retreat by far exceeded my expectations. Andreas, Ulrika and their team had so much energy and enthusiasm in introducing us and welcoming us to Iceland! The yoga classes were varied and I enjoyed the morning routine which set us up for the day. The options for daily excursions and activities including husky dog sledding, spa days, exploring and hiking the local sites and the food were all wonderful! We had a great group and I was very sad to leave...but this trip has definitely made me want to come back to Iceland very soon! Thank you for an amazing week:)

"Unreal week of amazing scenery and delicious food!"
Andreas was an amazing tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and very informative. The excursions were unreal! Amazing spots to hike and explore. I felt like we went to places that I would not have found if I was just venturing out on my own. This was also true about the delicious meals. It was a truly special experience that really explored all of Akureyri and the surrounding area. This was my fourth visit to Iceland and I would highly recommend this trip!

Eine tolle Woche mit vielen Highlights. Das Programm war super, diesen Retreat werde ich nicht mehr vergessen - eine wunderschöne Erfahrung. Ein grosses Dankeschön an Ulrica und Andreas.
"I had an amazing experience and can't say enough good about it!"
It was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all my expectations and was so very satisfying on both a physical and emotional level. Discovering Iceland was magnificent and meeting the people at my retreat was a profound and healing experience. The organizers, Andreas and Ulrica, are very professional and go beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone is taken care of in all ways. I cannot say enough good things about Inspiration Iceland and the experience they offer.
It is no wonder Inspiration Iceland gets such consistently high ratings and reviews as they provide a remarkable experience for their guests. My expectations for this yoga retreat and tour were high, but they exceeded all of them and left me wishing I could have stayed longer.
Andreas and Ulrica are a dynamic duo whose combination of gifts are rare and exceptional. Andreas can converse fluently in a multitude of languages, and as a tour guide, he is animated and profoundly knowledgeable - he seems to know every nook and cranny of northern Iceland, including hidden gems of locations that most tourists would not have an opportunity to explore or encounter. We were consistently dazzled by the wondrous sites and landscapes to which we were introduced or hiked through.
Ulrica, who leads the yoga retreat component, is an authentically joyous spirit with a wide breadth of knowledge about yoga and meditation. Her innate teaching skills result in a yoga practice that is meaningful, healing, gentle or challenging as needed, and suitable for all levels, whether an absolute beginner or a seasoned advanced practitioner. Although we experienced profound moments, there was also a lot of laughing involved.
Both the studio/spa and the apartments where retreaters are lodged were of a superior quality. The yoga studio looks out onto a mountain and its gardens are full of beauty and whimsy. The spa's facilities have been constructed with great attention to detail and comfort and with creating an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury. And the Pearl of the North apartments were superb accommodations. Convenient to central Akureyri, bright and spacious, well-laid out, and with all the conveniences one could ever need, they were a great home-away-from-home for even the most finicky of travelers.
Andreas also made sure that we were all well taken care of as far as meals. He has sourced out the best restaurants in the area whose mandate is to provide fresh, healthy and very delicious menus. I was a bit concerned before arriving due to a number of food sensitivities, but Andreas went out of his way to check in with me to make sure I had options. I did and more - thank goodness for all the hiking and physical activity!
Overall, I cannot say enough about what a well-planned and complete adventure this was. But aside from all the physical aspects of the retreat, it was wonderful to spend time with international guests who helped expand my world view. It's going to be very difficult to surpass this retreat experience.
