They believe that true relaxation doesn't require much: a comfortable bed, natural materials, warm colors, and a place where you feel safe and secure. Their rooms are intentionally simple, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—yourself, your practice, and the nature around you.
Yoga hall—the heart of the Alpine retreat
In their yoga studio, you immediately feel the special energy of this house: the old beams, the warm wooden floorboards, the natural stillness, and the soft light that filters through the skylights. A space that both empowers you and gently guides you back to yourself.
Depending on which retreat you choose, you will be guided by Elly, Wolfgang, or carefully selected international teachers. Each week, a different, vibrant space for healing, mindfulness, and growth is created. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practicing for a long time – you are welcome here, just as you are.

- Sauna: Gentle warmth, deep relaxation – our small sauna invites you to recharge your batteries. Use is possible on a donation basis.
Programme
We all carry within us the elements that are at work everywhere in nature. Each element possesses specific qualities, characteristics, and energetic effects that are reflected in our body, our experiences, and our consciousness. In chakra theory, these elements are assigned to the chakras and energy centers, forming a subtle map of our inner being. Science shows us that all particles and atoms are in constant motion. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower – but always driven by a fundamental vibration. The elements also each possess their own unique vibrational quality. This corresponds to the vibrations of our energy body and our chakras and influences how we feel, perceive, and act.
Yoga Style
The yoga style practiced in these sessions is highly meditative and focuses on mindfulness and awareness of body and mind. On a physical level, the yoga is designed to support the body's healing processes through conscious and joint-friendly movements. It also incorporates elements of Gestalt therapy and bioenergetics, which are increasingly used in psychotherapy today. The overall approach is therefore very holistic and has a highly positive effect on both physical and mental well-being.
Daily Routine
Each morning begins with a yoga, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation session. After breakfast, weather permitting and equipped with a packed lunch, participants head out for practical exercises. In the late afternoon, there is a workshop related to the day's theme. On some evenings, an additional program, also related to the day's theme, is offered. The program is adapted to the group and the weather, so changes to the schedule may occur.

Jan Tomas
Jan Tomas has been leading yoga classes, seminars, and yoga teacher trainings since 2008, teaching not only with heart but also drawing on a wealth of experience gained from decades of intensive practice. He spent many years in Asia, participating in numerous trainings, advanced courses, and retreats. This extensive self-exploration deepened his understanding of the body, joints, spine, and musculoskeletal system, as well as their healing, and also of the psyche, well-being, and self-efficacy.

Arrival by car
- Easily accessible via the Fernpass road B179 (E532).
- Distance: 0.5 hours from Germany, 1 hour from Switzerland, 1.5 hours from Italy.
- Navigation tip: Enter "Fernpass Rast / Fernpasshöhe" – from there a small road between the yellow house and red snack bar leads directly to us (100 m).
- Winter warning: Winter tires are mandatory in Austria. The Fernpass road is well cleared, but snow-covered roads can still occur occasionally. Be sure to check that rental cars are equipped with winter tires.
Arrival by train
Train stations that are within a 15–30 minute radius are Lermoos, Imst/Pitztal, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Ehrwald, and Füssen.
Arrival by bus
The "Hotel Fernpasshöhe" bus stop is located right in front of the venue door. Free pick-up from the Zugspitzblick bus stop is offered. Please inform AlpenRetreat of your arrival time in advance! For arrivals outside of bus times, theyoffer transfers:
- Lermoos train station: 25 EUR per trip*
- Nassereith bus stop: 25 EUR per trip*
- Prices are per car (max. 4 people) and will be divided accordingly for shared trips.
