  • Experienced yoga instructors: The team of yoga trainers is highly skilled at designing classes based on individual needs. They offer personalized attention to create an immersive experience. They are highly qualified and dedicated to providing a safe, relaxing yoga experience while improving practice.

  • Affordable luxury: The retreat provides comfortable and luxurious accommodations at affordable prices to make relaxation accessible for everyone.
  • Customisable retreats: Each participant is unique. Retreats are customised to suit specific needs. Whether a beginner wanting to learn yoga while enjoying its calming benefits or an experienced yogi wishing to deepen practice with ease, the retreat program supports every participant.

Hatha and Ashtanga yoga practice

Participants practice Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga styles. The intensity of yoga asanas varies based on the duration chosen for the retreat. Participants learn proper alignment techniques and how to get into poses safely. The asana practice promotes strength, flexibility, and balance while providing relaxation.

Meditation and pranayama sessions

Meditation classes are designed to calm the mind and relax the nerves. Participants are introduced to Kundalini and Chakra meditation to create harmony between body and mind. Immense relaxation and inner peace are achieved through techniques such as mindfulness meditation, Yoga Nidra, meditation for anxiety relief, and more.

Pranayama sessions provide a calming space to immerse in conscious breathing and reviving energy. Participants release stress, anxiety, and emotional turbulence through rhythmic breathwork and laughing yoga, promoting mental and emotional clarity.

Yoga therapies

Yogakulam Academy offers yoga therapies to heal and rejuvenate participants during the retreat. Therapeutic postures, gentle stretches, and breathing techniques ease discomfort and promote overall well-being. Doctor consultations and therapies for common health problems energise and refresh participants.

Yoga workshops

Yoga workshops educate participants about the history and philosophy of yoga. Workshops include learning the foundations of yoga and anatomy of yoga, doshas, and the use of natural herbs for food and healing. Discussion groups support a deeper understanding of this art form. Personal development classes for self-exploration are also included.

Relaxing activities

A yoga retreat is incomplete without relaxing and fun activities. Proper rest is necessary, and the retreat provides it in enjoyable ways. Activities include cooking classes, trips to local attractions, local musical nights, religious temples and ashram visits, beach activities, adventure sports, and more. A soothing yoga experience at the sunset beaches of Mysore is also included. These activities ensure the retreat is fulfilling and fun.

Dress code

Yogakulam Academy strongly recommends wearing loose, breathable cotton clothing, allowing the skin—and especially the navel area—to breathe freely and remain comfortable throughout the extensive practice sessions.

For these reasons, wearing leggings is discouraged, as they are often made from synthetic fabrics treated with PFAS ("forever chemicals")—known to cause hormone disruption, thyroid dysfunction, and even certain cancers—and BPA, another endocrine-disrupting chemical linked to long-term health risks.

Excursions

There are activities you can enjoy:

  • Backwaters floating meditation
  • Lake visit
  • Small hike
  • Yoga near the lake
  • Opening and closing ceremony
