El Retiro

This experience was for me a transformative reset, spiritually, emotionally and physically. You get out of it what you put in, but Nelson and Alina certainly provide a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere and gentle guidance that pave the way for healing and growth.

Phenomenal experience! Nelson and Alina are amazing hosts and facilitators. They are informative, supportive, and kind hearted with calming energies. It was a wonderfully insightful weekend and worth every penny. I can’t wait to come back!

I went to El Retiro without really knowing why—just feeling the need to take some time for myself. In the end, it turned out to be an incredible experience. The ayahuasca ceremonies, the other sacred plants, and the different rituals helped me find answers and realize things I wasn’t fully aware of before. The conversations with Nelson and Alina were also so enriching—they have such wisdom, empathy, and kindness.

I’m leaving this retreat feeling lighter and happier. I continue meditating and taking care of myself while reflecting on everything Nelson and Alina shared. This experience was truly powerful, and I’m deeply grateful for it.

Nelson and Alina were lovely hosts, guiding us through a blend of well structured activity and time to enjoy the beautiful surrounds. I stayed in the upstairs room and enjoyed sunrises over lush greenery every morning. Would definitely recommend this to anyone needing to disconnect with life and reconnect with self

Les activités, le lieux de séjour, le paysage sont fantastiques. Les cérémonies et débriefing sont vraiment intenses et fort en émotions. Les organisateurs sont vraiment très sympa, expliquent clairement les différentes activités. C'est vraiment très agréable à vivre et un excellent souvenir à vie.

Il est préférable de parler couramment anglais ou espagnol. Ce n'étais pas mon cas, je comprenais mais avais des difficultés à m'exprimer mais tout à toujours été clair et Nelson comprend un peu le français en cas de difficulté.

Vraiment, j'ai adoré et je n'hésiterai pas à réserver à nouveau.

I booked this with not knowing exactly what to expect, but I could not be any happier with my experience.

I am prior law enforcement and have had issues with anxiety, ptsd and depression for years. I had heard ayahuasca can help with symptoms so I wanted to give it a shot after talk therapy, prescribed medication was not working to alleviate my symptoms.

My trip from start to finish was beyond amazing!!!

The Dominican Republic is a beautiful country and as soon as I arrived I felt welcomed by everyone I encountered. When Nelson picked me up he was so nice and welcoming it really put me at ease going to the retreat.

The location of the retreat is breathtaking, and the perfect setting to relax and heal. The home is beautiful and everything was beyond any expectations I had.

Nelson and Alina made the most delicious meals throughout the entire stay. They made meal feel very welcome and treated everyone like family. The atmosphere and small group size was perfect for everyone to be at ease and get personal attention from Nelson and Alina. They are the most genuine and loving people I have met, you can really tell they are passionate about helping people heal. I am so grateful for this and it could not have been any better, highly recommend!!!

The yoga, breath work, energy healing, beach trips, trip to the waterfall and ceremonies were absolutely perfect.

I came here to work on my problems with addiction. You name it I did it- for many many many years. I had a problem trying to fill a void inside of me by reaching for things on the outside. Through the beautiful work we did outside of the ayahuasca ceremonies I was more able to hone into things while in the ceremonies. Both teachings helped heal very very deep wounds I had been carrying around for decades. I left with so much love in my heart that I felt like I was going to burst.

Nelson and Alina are such amazing, beautiful teachers. They care for each individual with grace and love. You have no idea that you’re even in a lesson or transforming until you’re reflecting on it later in wonder of what you’ve learned.

I am truly blessed to have come here. It has changed my life forever and I will keep it in my heart always.

I had no idea what a positive experience this could possibly be, as I signed up a whim. Nelson and Alina are gifted healers - every part of the experience was unique and incredible. The way they can read your energy and determine exactly what you need borders on supernatural. If you’re willing to be open to new experiences, trust the process, face your pain and do the work, your life will be changed. I haven’t stopped feeling the effects weeks later, and I’m recommending all my friends go. As a matter of fact - everyone should go! Ayahausca is an incredible medicine, and under the control and guidance of Nelson and Alina, you will be transformed. I found myself forgiving people I never thought I could - which in turn has made me feel more at peace. They truly have the blueprint to have you live a more joyful, peaceful, and enlightened life. I look at everything in my life with a different intention and perspective now, and my life is so much better for it.

The warmth of the hosts and their lovely home exceeded my expectations. I felt like a personal guest of theirs, not a client. They cooked for us and ate with us, and put all their efforts and energy into each of the (many) ceremonies they hosted for us, as well as treated us hospitably with rides to the beach and for pick ups/ drop offs at the bus. I felt their care for myself and the other guests, which was an extra special touch on top of the fabulous healing ceremonies they shared with us. The ayahuasca ceremonies were every other evening, with other activities in the times and days between. They are generous with their healing rituals, remedies, and information. Even some of the activities marked as not included were offered to me while I stayed, without charge. The yoga was enjoyable and Alina offers a lovely range of modalities within her practice. The home has three very sweet pit bulls who were the icing on the cake for me <3 <3 as well as a friendly cat. I couldn't get over how much nice clean energy I had (and still have!) starting from the early morning, from the ayahuasca. I felt relaxed and also energized perfectly throughout the whole trip, despite having some late nights due to the aya ceremonies. Their ayahuasca is amazing and I cannot recommend their retreat highly enough <3 I definitely got much more from this experience than I expected when going into it!! Very grateful! <3

The retreat is in a beautiful location with a top notch view. Nelson and Alina make you feel comfortable right from the outset and really set the mood for you to get in touch with yourself and have deep reflection. Every activity that we did was guided with love and care and I felt safe at all times.

The food that they provided was delicious and nourishing and everything was done with the intention of aiding healing and restoration.

At the end of October, I participated in the 6-day retreat at El Retiro. These 6 days felt even more enriching than a 4-day retreat. It was an exceptional and valuable experience. Nelson and Alina are a warm and harmonious couple, displaying genuine hospitality and perfect complementary throughout the entire retreat. The ayahuasca ceremonies, yoga sessions, meditations, and various other activities were expertly facilitated in a stunning location. Nelson has a lot of experience and is capable of not only guiding the activities very well but also in his role as a remarkable conversationalist who genuinely aids in personal growth. I am absolutely delighted that I chose to embark on this transformative journey with them.

Alina and Nelson are beautiful people helping others connect to their divine self. Everything, from their wisdom, their teaching, the setting, the ayahuasca sessions, the music, the workshops, is perfect.

Nelson is not a mere provider of ayahuasca, he is a carer and a teacher that will analyze your feedback to make you progress further, while Alina's talented yoga is tailored to the moment.

Thanks to their professionalism, it took me only three sessions to get the answers I needed to set me on the path of peace.

I went to the retreat to find myself and to heal from my past traumas.. I came out healed and with a new understanding of self-love. The process was tough and unique, but Nelson created a safe space for us to share and be vulnerable, and guided us through it with a lot of wisdom. Alina's yoga classes and meditations were very calming and soothing. The scenery was out of this world, the perfect place to recharge your energy!

It was a safe space , educative and transforming.

The retreat is in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains and ocean. Nelson is a real healer; he is very knowledgeable and helps you see things with a different perspective. Nelson and the medicine helped me break some mental blocks. Alina is very warm and welcoming as well and I enjoyed her yoga classes and meals. If you are ready and willing to do the work on yourself, this is the place to be. If you are wondering if you should go, you should do it as you won't regret it and will have so much light in your life.

This was life changing and eye opening. Highly recommend if you are stuck in life and feel as if you can’t go on. Some parts are intense, but that’s part of the beauty of this. I’ve gone through 10 years of therapy and after this experience, I don’t think I will ever need a therapist again. It’s that impactful. Nelson is an amazing human with a gift. We are all grateful that he is sharing this gift with the world.

This experience was everything I expected and much more! I did not want to go to big resort events that have hundreds of people next to you. And this was so perfect as there was only 3 of us in the beautiful settings with super wonderful people. Nelson is a big deal healer! If you suffer depression or addiction this is a place to be. I will never forget those 3 days. I felt so much love and gratitude in my heart after sessions and through talking to Nelson. Really felt like this was meant to be.

I found the experience to be very meaningful. Learned some things about myself that I wasn't aware of and connected with the part of me that was hidden for a while.

Nelson is wonderful person. He is very insightful and he helped me to discover what I came for.

Alina's yoga and meditation classes were something new for me and I found it to be refreshing and beneficial.

Another thing worth mentioning is the wonderful people that were there together with me on this journey. We were strangers on the first day, but became family for those few days :)

I loved every second of the whole experience with Nelson & Alina, and the rest of the group.

The beautiful nature surroundings, the villa we had, the meals, the yoga sessions, the Ayahuasca experience, the meditation, the debriefs, the 2 other experiences we had (Don't want to say to much... You will see!).

I'm grateful with all the talks with Nelson, and the fact that he was listening carefully to each of us, reaaaaaally taking the time to help us as a group as well as individuals.

We were all connected by divine timing to experience a retreat you can’t get out of your mind , literally.

The guides, Nelson and Alina, are incredible people with an abundance of love in their hearts. It was a real joy discussing my ayahuasca visions with Nelson. The draw for me here was the unique philosophy towards healing through Ayahuasca that they provide, and the beautiful beaches of Las Terrenas, which did not disappoint.

The location was perfect, couldn't have hoped for anything better: peaceful and quite and just beautiful. The ayuhasca experience was something unexpected. Almost nothing of what I expected came to pass but what ended up happening was certainly better than what I hoped. Even now, several days after the experience I can feel the changes within my spirit.

Everything about this experience was incredible. Nelson and Alina create a beautiful space for growth and transformation. The facility was clean and set against the most beautiful mountain backdrop. The food was prepared by our hosts and absolutely delicious. I could not say more positive about my time with El Retiro. I look forward to joining them again in the future.

That retreat was insane, it really helped me to open all those boundries I've created within me over the last couple of years. Now I can breathe again very deep into my stomach without blocks. I never though that this cold be possible, but it is. Every single Penny of money is it worth it and what should I say... I will come back again, definetly. Thank you guys, for everything!!

Open air living. Outdoor and indoor yoga. Alina is an impressive instructor who works to your level. Nelson was always available for conversation and exceptional hospitality. Staff were always available. The food was incredibly healthy and delicious. We enjoyed an amazing excursion to the local waterfalls. It was nice having Nelson & Alina to get us past any and all tourist traps. I felt like we were above all the touristy stuff. With views and nature constantly checking in on you. I plan to return in 6 months for the experience. When rest and relaxation is needed this will be at the top of my list. A healthy healing environment with great weather and people.

For one, Nelson is an amazingly wise and knowledgeable host who knows what he is doing and is able to guide others through the spiritual journey in a positive manner. As far as location, a more perfect stage could not be asked for.

I attended a retreat with Nelson/Alina recently in Las Terranas. They were so helpful from the start even directing me where to find transportation since I had been staying here previous to the start date. This was such a monumental experience and I am so grateful I did it with Nelson and Alina. As a solo female traveller my biggest concern is my safety. I was made to feel extremely comfortable and safe which made this experience amazing! The food, the ritual/ceremony experience, yoga classes and even general conversations were all of great quality and have helped me immensely. I left El Retiro with a renewed sense of purpose, a higher capacity for love, compassion for myself and having worked through some deeply rooted anger/sadness. Their care for each participant was admirable and it was such a beautiful to hear how everyone’s experience was so unique and individual. Thank you Alina for the wonderful meals and Nelson for getting me to the bus station for such an ungodly hour. I would 100% recommend this experience if you’re looking for healing. Not only did the facilitators, Nelson and Alina stand by each participant through their experience with sensitivity to each participants' needs, but they expertly guided the participants to each other, insuring a caring, safe yet exploratory atmosphere in which each of us felt a part of the crew on the adventure. We were so together by the end of the retreat that we stayed on afterwards and went whale watching so one of us could see their spirit animal in the flesh!
