In addition to the daily schedule, the main activities within the seven days include any or all of these:
Personal coaching
Later in the week, there will be opportunity to spend more time going much deeper with Daniel. His work with Somatic Experiencing offers the space and time to understand where you are in your life, and what is keeping you from further fulfillment. Then comes the possibility to embrace your integrity, live with greater authenticity, and gain a true perspective on how to move into the future you want.
Craft sessions
On the Monday of your retreat, Nikki brings out the craft supplies. This is both an opportunity to explore your creative side, often forgotten since school, and also a chance to take your mind off your belly. More important than the creation itself, it is a chance for members of the group to get together and chat the hours away, getting to know each other better, and maybe produce a souvenir of your time or a present for those looking after the dog at home.
Beach walks
You have a two-hour block each day with nothing scheduled into the program. Some use this time to socialize, swim, sleep, or watch movies, but there is also the opportunity to walk around the property and beyond. Depending on the weather, Daniel will take a group out to one of the local beaches for a gentle stroll through North Devon's stunning coastline.
Stress management workshops
A couple of times in the week, in this two-hour free time block, Daniel will offer an exploration of the triggers, the feeling, and management of stress. The object of these workshops is to resource us to stay with ourselves in the inevitable stresses of a busy, daily life.
Massage treatments
And of course, as often as you wish, there are endless treatment options. These are available throughout the week. Some are used to speed the process of detox through the manipulation of the lymph system, take advantage of your relaxed state to smooth out your stressed muscles and aching limbs we accrue in life, or else, just to pamper yourself while you are away.
Raw food prep classes
To help ground your body back into the process of eating and digesting, the program will reintroduce food on the penultimate day. Keeping to the theme of raw foods being the best, as discussed in the week's talks, Nikki runs two raw food prep sessions, in which you not only learn how to make wonderful, yummy, nutritious foods, but you are there making it yourself.
This process also helps to land you back into the world of food, when you are back at home, because you then have both the how and the why to follow this path of health.
Instructeurs
Dao
Dao is an avid believer of permaculture ever since his profound realization that permaculture is applied Taoism in the 21st century. He believes that it is basically humankind's greatest hope in the face of dire forecasts. He traveled to Thailand for six years, India for two years, and Spain for three years. His travels soon became a search for a home and people. It was not until he got to Taiwan that he began to think about how people are affected by diet, deliberate mind-set, and what people eat, think, and do.
Daniel
As a child, Daniel was fascinated by the supernatural, nature, and anything electrical. School was not good for him, but despite its horrors, he managed to maintain a sense of wonder, an awe, and a yearning to explore the richness of the world. He holds degrees in zoology and computer sciences and has also acquired other skills such as tai chi, meditation, and a variety of therapies.
Benita
Benita is a Belgian citizen and has lived in Belgium for 30 years before moving to Britain. She trained in Dynamic Bodywork, a course which inspired her by deepening and integrating the use of her own body in the process of massage, bringing in more awareness, quality of touch, and fluency. She also holds a diploma in Thai massage and a qualification in Lastone therapy and have been practicing astrology professionally since 2007, with over 150 professional readings to her name.
Nikki
As a long-term vegetarian and raw food chef, Nikki is very familiar with detoxing, juicing, and superfoods. She is also qualified as a Dru teacher and is experienced in Dru Yoga's unique Energy Block Release sequences. Her classes are designed to keep students supple, release any aches and pains, and gently squeeze the organs to aid the detox process, with a beautiful deep relaxation at the end of each session.
