Known as the Canadel Priory, the Abbey was established by monks from the Lérins Islands between 1150 and 1200. Originally part of the greater Lérins Abbey—a Cistercian monastery located on the island of Saint Honorat off the coast of Cannes—this sacred site is now a designated historic monument, celebrated for its preserved architectural features, including a hidden chapel dedicated to Saint Elizabeth.
Initially built to host the Bishop Abbé en route to the annual episcopal conference in Vence, the Abbey soon became a favored winter refuge for the bishops. Following the French Revolution in 1789, the monks and bishops departed, and the Abbey transitioned into private ownership.
There are 10 rooms available for the guests, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each room provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for your stay.

- Midday: Visit to Cannes and Antibes: Cannes dazzles with film festival glamour and golden beaches, while nearby Antibes offers historic charm, art, and the timeless beauty of the Riviera coast.
- Afternoon: Second yoga class focusing on breath and alignment
- Dinner: Delicious Mediterranean dinner featuring local ingredients
Day 3 | Flow and explore
- Morning: Vinyasa flow yoga on the terrace
- Breakfast: Nourishing breakfast buffet
- Midday: Excursion to nearby Saint Paul de Vence, a hilltop village steeped in art and history, where cobbled lanes, stone houses, and sweeping views capture the essence of Provence
- Afternoon: Restorative yoga class to unwind
- Dinner: Traditional French dinner
Day 4 | Nature connection
- Morning: Yoga class incorporating nature-inspired movements
- Breakfast: Fresh Mediterranean breakfast
- Midday: Free time for relaxation and massages (extra cost)
- Afternoon: Yoga class focused on grounding and stability
- Dinner: Themed dinner night featuring local culinary delights
Day 5: Deepening practice

- Midday: Villefranche-sur-Mer is a picturesque coastal town on the French Riviera, known for its colorful old town, deep harbor, and stunning sea views. Nearby, Villa Kérylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer is a remarkable replica of an ancient Greek villa, blending classical design with Belle Époque luxury.

- Dinner: Dinner in the abbey
Day 6 | Reflection and relaxation
- Morning: Gentle flow yoga to prepare for the day
- Breakfast: Energizing breakfast
- Midday: Èze is a medieval hilltop village on the French Riviera, known for its cobblestone streets and breathtaking sea views.
- Afternoon: Yoga class with a focus on gratitude and intention setting
- Dinner: Dinner celebrating the week’s experiences
Day 7 | Reflection and integration
- Morning: Gentle yoga session to prepare for personal reflection
- Breakfast: Healthy breakfast at the hotel
- Midday: Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is an exclusive peninsula on the French Riviera, known for its luxurious villas, scenic coastal trails, and crystal-clear beaches.
- Afternoon: Final yoga class, emphasizing gratitude and integration of the week’s experiences
- Dinner: Closing dinner with shared stories and reflections

- Breakfast: Final breakfast at the hotel
- Midday: Check-out and departure, taking with you the memories and connections made during the retreat
Instructores
Andrea Forizs
Andrea founded Breathspiration in 2013 to organize yoga retreats on the beautiful island of Mallorca. Yet the main activity transferred to hosting retreats by other teachers in the last years. She also organizes co-working retreats for location independent professionals, team buildings for companies, and tailor-made adventure programs for groups. She is leading coaching workshops and private sessions on retreats and sometimes also accompanies you on the scuba diving courses or excursions. Andrea’s mission is to provide you the best holiday experience in Mallorca and other new destinations.
Ashley Matthews
The retreat is led by an experienced and well-traveled yoga teacher, Ashley Mathews. She created a yoga experience as the framework for the eight blissful days on the island of Mallorca. Like the ebb and flow of the island, we will rise and awaken with energising yoga and pranayama breath work before our day’s adventure, followed by evening restorative yoga and reflection. Depart feeling refreshed and transformed.
