You will spend 14 nights in a single room with attached hot and cold shower.

The newly-constructed accommodation on the ashram premises is clean and hygienic. The rooms offer all basic amenities, like attached bathroom, charging points, and good ventilation. The bathrooms have a continuous hot and cold water supply and WC facilities. The rooms on the third floor provide beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas. The elevator is in the process of installation.

The moment you enter the Yog Peeth premises you get the vibes of positivism and calmness which is soothing for the mind and soul. The present head of the Ashram His Holiness Shri Akhandanandji Maharaj is a divine soul who embraced monk-hood at a very young age. He is far away from the worldly pleasures and filled with spiritual knowledge & wisdom for living a realised life. A Satsang (spiritual lecture) with Maharajji is very enlightening and deep. His lectures give you simple tools which are useful for everyone to lead a happy and a meaningful life.

What you will learn

Recitation of Sacred Sound (mantra chanting)

The purpose of mantra chanting in yoga is to generate vibrations and connect with the universe. Each mantra is special and rich with spiritual energy.

Yoga postures (asana)

Students will gain extensive knowledge on yoga postures and will increase their strength, flexibility, and discipline.

Pranayama (breathing practices)

Pranayama is an ancient yogic breathing technique that is used as preparation for meditation and is a vital aspect of practicing yoga. It improves the respiratory system and purifies the body and mind.

Mudra (yoga gestures)

The practice of mudra hand gestures is an ancient facet of yoga. Performing gestures affects the energy flow of the body and can change a person’s spiritual and mental characteristics.

Bandhas (energy lock)

The practice of bandhas expands the lung capacity and breathing capabilities during yoga. It also strengthens the entire body from inside out.

Meditation (dhyana)

Meditation is a systematic practice that promotes physical, mental, and emotional tranquility with the purpose of reaching samadhi - self-realization.

Yoga Nidra (psychic sleep)

When a yoga practitioner moves through the various internal states of yoga Nidra, a profound experience of relaxation occurs. This is called “Turiya,” a sensation of pure bliss.

Yoga cleansing (shatkarma)

Yogic cleansing exercises are important to learn how to incorporate the breath and meditate properly during physical aspects of yoga. It also removes blockages in the energy channels.

Destino del retiro

Shri Avdhoot Yog Peeth is situated in Rishikesh on the banks of holy Ganga and in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is an ideal and tranquil setting for spiritual practice. The sounds of nearby temple bells and devotional songs are carried on by the morning and evening breezes, mingling with birdsong, and augmenting the peaceful and contemplative atmosphere of the ashram.

Ashram gardens

The ashram is kept very green and boasts three gardens which have a wide variety of flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables. Plans are to start organic farming which will be used in the food preparation process at the ashram.

Lord Shiva temple

The ashram premises host a Shiva temple where morning puja is performed along with Aarti in both morning and evening hours with mantras.

Terrace

Sometimes, yoga sessions are also conducted on the ashram terrace which provides a scenic view of the Himalayas. The cool air coming from the Ganges and the Himalayas brings a lot of positivity and vital energy to the mind and soul. Doing pranayama (breathing exercises) in this open air environment fills your body with essential vital energy and boosts the process of clensing and self repair.

Yoga and meditation hall

The ashram has two yoga halls. The first is a small carpeted hall which serves as yoga cum satsang hall. Here, individual and small group sessions are conducted on yoga and meditation. The second is a huge state-of-the-art yoga hall which is well lit and ventilated. It is generally used for teching yoga, yoga philosophy, and meditation to big groups.
