Zuna Yoga Teacher Training Bali

This 300-hour yoga teacher training intensive courses take place at carefully selected retreat centers throughout Bail, Indonesia. These programs are comprehensive and masterfully delivered by well educated and seasoned instructors. Surrounded by rice fields and lush jungle, this stunning and peaceful space overlooks an undisturbed valley. This Balinese retreat center is a magical hidden gem that truly must be experienced. The Ark's beautiful pool, infrared sauna, stunning gardens and cozy common areas are yours to enjoy during retreat down time. It's the perfect playground to drop into self-care and true nourishment of your mind, body and spirit.

Each room is unique in design. All are bright, cheerful, cool and cozy. All beds are fitted with mosquito nets.

Partner resorts

For overflow and additional options, they work with partner accommodations. Villa Pondok Iman is adjacent to The Ark, and here they can host an additional 16 people in twin share or double rooms. They can also be configured as privates. There are a total of six rooms at the villas. Each two bedroom villa has its own private pool, living space, and kitchen. Another option is Saka Village which are wooden nice bungalows with 5 double, 5 twins, and 2 private villas with 2 rooms each. The guests staying nearby at partner resorts will also have access to the Ark’s facilities during the day.

Certification

Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Are you ready?

This 300-hour yoga teacher training lets you fulfill the requirements for advanced certification (RYT500). It ensures a seamless continuation from the course material and experience they offer in the 200-hour yoga teacher training. It is not necessary to have completed the “level one – 200 hour certification course” but it is recommended that you have prior experience as a teacher or an acquired depth in self-study similar to what you would find in a high quality 200 hour course such as theirs.

The Zuna Yoga® 300-hour yoga teacher training is not yoga for acrobats. The promise of yoga is not realized through complicated and rigorous asana. However, safe and competent performance of basic and intermediate asanas is important.

Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced yogis who are ready to move beyond the poses into the more transformative elements of yoga
  • Zuna Yoga® recommends a developed physical practice with minimal limitations
  • Those with an open mind, and a willingness to go deep and move past established habits
  • People who have a comfortable level of strength and steadiness in the physical body. This is essential for moving into advanced techniques such as bandha, mudra, and pranayama
  • Having some experience in meditation is highly recommended
  • This 300 hour yoga teacher training is not only for aspiring teachers, but also for curious, passionate yogis who want to strengthen their knowledge and practice

Curriculum

Anatomy and physiology - How yoga affects the key systems of the body

A functional approach to the science of the body as it applies to yoga. Learn about the bodily systems (nervous, respiratory, skeletal, muscular, etc.) and how yoga affects them. Exploring the foundations of healthy movement and develop embodied awareness is an essential element of this 300 hour yoga teacher training. This includes postural analysis, common injuries, and prevention.

Asana - Refresh your foundation and explore advanced poses

You’ll review the key categories of yoga postures and their alignment, benefits, contraindications, and modifications. Building from a strong foundation, you’ll practice intermediate and advanced poses such as arm balances and inversions. You’ll also move beyond the physical to thoroughly explore postures from an energetic perspective, to understand them as key ingredients of a master recipe.

Hands-on adjustments​ - Develop confidence in manual cueing

Skillful adjustments and verbal cues help differentiate novices from seasoned teachers and help strengthen trust and connection with your students. You’ll hone your ability to body-read, not just physically but also emotionally, so you can offer individualized and optimal support in the right moment.

The art and science of class sequencing

You will learn how the tools of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing methods), bandha (energy locks), and meditation are used to create deep meaningful sequences. A great class is not just bio-mechanically sound but also powerful on an energetic level. You will practice dozens of different sequences, designed by the expert teachers to integrate classroom learning. You’ll also create your own sequences using the important tools you get at this training.

Class themes - Adding meaning and depth

Every class you teach is an opportunity to take your students on a journey of self discovery. Whether that’s through the physical body, or inner exploration, they’ll give you the tools to take them there.

Yogic breathing​ as science

The breath is much more than just inhale/exhale. It’s is the primary life force and the true foundation of meaningful yogic practice. The breath has a profound influence on our nervous system, cognitive abilities, emotional management, and how you interact with the world. You will thoroughly explore its application in postures, pranayama, and meditation.

Philosophy - A modern view of tradition​

Frequently, the essential teachings of the sages get lost in translation. They’ll help bridge the gap between the often esoteric ancient wisdom of yoga and its relevance for modern living. You’ll examine the essential philosophies and traditions of Hatha, Tantra, and Classical yoga.

Subtle body​ energetics - Prana, chakras, and koshas

There are many dimensions to understanding the prime life force, known to the yogis as prana. Consciously directing its flow through the body and mind is the secret to a transformative yoga practice. Energy is power and they’ll show you how to harness it.

Advanced Restorative yoga​ - Deep healing relaxation

Restorative postures and classes are highly accessible to all populations and can be a valuable addition to your teaching skills. You’ll learn restorative postures, creative sequencing, how to combine breath meditations, kriyas and other tools to deliver yourself and your students into deep healing relaxation.

Introduction to yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is one of the crown jewels of yoga that can deliver you effectively into the deepest realms of yoga, effortlessly. Meditation - The yogi's essential tool

The power of meditation is significant. It’s been clinically proven as a highly effective tool for improving physical, emotional, and mental health. In your 300-hour yoga teacher training they will be sharing a variety of different methods for developing your own personal practice and teaching.

Practice teaching - Learn and grow as a teacher

Everyone will get the opportunity to teach and refine their yoga language skills and their ability to deliver an inspiring class as you work with the new tools you’ve learned. There will be plenty of practice teaching: one on one, in small groups, and in front of the whole class.

Business of yoga - Be inspired and stand out

Using your collective creativity, you’ll explore new and innovative ideas of how to serve your communities through inspired workshop and program development exercises. These fun, enriching group exercises allows you to integrate the concepts you’ve learned at your 300-hour yoga teacher training course with your personal experience and unique voice.

Ethics - What does it mean to be a yogi?

This is an important topic in today’s climate of social and environmental responsibility. You will examine yogic philosophy as a foundation for modern ethics and understand the responsibilities of being a leader in your classroom and community.

Typical training day

A typical day at your 300-hour yoga teacher training begins with a morning practice at sunrise, the most powerful time of day to set your intention and experience the power of asana, pranayama, and meditation. After practice you’ll enjoy a healthy breakfast in silent reflection. Students break for lunch and rest, then meet again for lecture or teaching practice. You finish the day with a posture workshop, practicum or class, and a satisfying evening meditation.

There is one full day off per week.

Reading assignments​

Students are required to complete daily assignments during the course and to submit essays within three months after the course for each of the books listed below, as well as assignments from the training manual. You’ll need to demonstrate understanding of course content and offer personal reflection on the reading. Once all assignments have been completed and reviewed, Zuna Yoga® will issue a certificate of completion.
