This 300-hour course dives deep into the world of meditation, Yoga Nidra, and pranayama. This training is offered as an immersion retreat. It is meticulously and thoughtfully designed to maximize your takeaways and the culmination of many years of personal practice and educational experience drawn from leading yoga teacher training, classes, and retreats.
Jeda means “interlude” in the Indonesian language and this venue is to offer a true escape from busy life. Jeda Villa is situated at the edge of the West Bali National Park. The villas overlook Pemuteran village and the ocean is just 900 meters away. Five Javanese volcanoes can be seen in the distance, especially during the evening’s breathtaking sunsets. Impeccably manicured gardens provide space to stroll, daydream and connect with nature.
Mealtimes are always a delightful surprise, with the expert chef and joyful kitchen team serving up eclectic plant-based meals prepared with creativity and love. The spacious property is great for reading, relaxing, and socializing. The mostly solar-powered resort includes three luxury pool villas on two hectares of land. The villas are gracious, spacious, open, and are surrounded by large tropical gardens with a magnificent mountain backdrop.
All villas have private luxury pools, terraces, and traditional gazebos. The thatched-roof villas have been designed to use both traditional Balinese and modern architectural elements and they blend in perfectly with the natural environment. There are two three-bedroom villas and one two-bedroom villa, and three additional triple bungalows. All bedrooms are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. The main resort can host a maximum of 24 guests in triple, double, or private accommodation.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
Participation in this meditation teacher training does not require a prior yoga teacher training certification. Some of the students will have already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, while for others this will be their first course. For those interested in becoming certified, know that you can complete the 200 and 300-hour courses in any order. Meditation is a key element of all Zuna Yoga® training. Some experience in meditation is required - a regular practice of a few months minimum, so you are already comfortable with sitting and maintaining focus for extended periods.
This course is a balance of scientific inquiry and spiritual experience. Modern medicine and psychology underpin the magical benefits of meditation. An extensive body of research validates many of the claims of ancient tradition, said to be a result of a regular and systematic practice of meditation: peace, transcendence, empathy, connectivity, intuition, creativity, and awe.

Seated meditation requires stillness, but your bodies need regular movement throughout the day as well. You start your day at meditation teacher training with a simple 90-minute guided asana practice. During lunchtime, you can swim laps or do your own workout. You will have regular opportunities to move around and stretch between lectures. There is a second asana session in the late afternoon before your final evening meditation.
You are required to complete daily reflection and reading assignments as well as a book report for the required book listed below. You will need to demonstrate understanding of the content you cover and offer a personal reflection on the relevant concepts. Once all book reports and class assignments have been completed and reviewed, Zuna Yoga® will issue a certificate of completion for your meditation teacher training.
A typical day in your meditation teacher training begins with a sunrise practice. It is a powerful time of day to set intentions and experience the power of movement, breath, and guided meditation. After practice, you will enjoy a healthy breakfast in silent reflection. Then you reconvene for a morning lecture.
Students break for lunch and leisure then meet again for another lecture, workshops, or teaching practice. You finish the day around 7:00 p.m. with a short asana and joyful evening meditation. There is one full day off per week. This course includes extended periods of silence, including a full three-day silent experience.
Katherine has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She completed her first 200-hour teacher training at Pure Yoga NYC in 2010. The same year, she was introduced to the Tantric Hatha style of Zuna Yoga and was inspired by its depth. She left her job as a sales executive in the corporate world in 2013 to join the Zuna Yoga team. She is now based full time in Bali, facilitating Zuna Yoga events and connecting with beautiful souls from all over the world.
Everett Newell has been involved in the energetic arts since 1978. Everett taught at the International Hapkido Federation headquarters in Santa Monica, California for over 10 years. His exploration of yoga began in 1992 and has been a journey through many traditions such as Tantra, Hatha, Anusara yoga, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Taoism, and more. Everett is currently devoting his efforts to sharing his own synthesis of yoga known as Zuna Yoga, which he offers through workshops, training, and retreats internationally.
The course will take place in Gerokgak, Bali, Indonesia.
