"nice experience in Crete"

Stella is a great "all-round" instructor. You won't find here the fitness yoga to round your bum, but rather a conscious and balanced yoga experience that comprise all the elements and allows you to re-connect. I really enjoyed the time dedicated to the classes and the kirtan. I also had the chance to visit around thanks to the free time.

The old house is located in a small village a bit uphill from the sea: beautiful environment. I consciously didn't want to hire a car and I had to sweat my access to the sea. Sea in the area is beautiful by the way: quiet and crystal clear.

"Beautiful & peaceful yoga retreat "

I had a very enjoyable and relaxing week at ZenZem in Crete. I stayed in the garden studio room, which had a small kitchen area and bathroom. It was attached to the main house but with a separate entrance so felt very private. You have access to the garden, which has an incredible view of the White Mountains.

We did yoga twice a day at 9.30am and 6.30pm. There is an indoor yoga studio and a garden space for yoga too. The morning lessons were one-on-one and the evening lessons were groups with local people. We also did a morning walking meditation at the ancient city of Aptera, an evening meditation and sunrise yoga at the Aptera Fortress. Stella is a great yoga teacher and she will adapt the lessons depending on what you want to do.

In between the yoga sessions you have all day to do what you want. ZenZem is in a small village so if you want to see lots of sights or beaches then you might want to rent a car. There is a mini mart and restaurants about a 10 minute walk away. You can walk to a bus stop in about 15 minutes, where you can get the bus to various places including Chania. You can walk down to a secluded pebble beach in about 20-30 minutes. The Aptera ruins and castle are also a 5 minute walk from the house.

Stella was very welcoming and made sure I was looked after. She provided food and water for me when I arrived and helped with bus times etc. I had a lovely week and I would definitely recommend this retreat!

"kleines und einfaches Retreat in zauberhafter Atmosphäre "

Stella ist ein besonderer, wundervoller Mensch, die es schafft, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Ihre Yogastunden sind abwechslungsreich und sie geht auch in der Gruppe individuell auf alle ein. Sie hat einen Ort mit einzigartiger Atmosphäre geschaffen.

"Peaceful retreat"

When I first came across this lovely retreat at the website I actually wondered why there were only 3 reviews on the page.

.And now I know why! People want to keep it as a little secret!

My week at Zenzem Yoga was just amazing!

Stella is a very warm, caring and lovely person and I knew that even before I arrived. Our email exchange was full with great information about the bus timetable, pick up from bus stop, breakfast preferences etc.

I stayed in the little stone house with this great balcony overlooking the white mountains. I could have stayed there forever watching the sun rises...

The yoga was very peaceful and relaxing. The perfect mix of arsanas for me. I even had a one to one class. Very lucky... Stella asked exactly the right questions regarding my needs for the practice. Really liked joining the local people at class which was taught mostly in English.

I loved the little village Aptera and it's only a short walk - a bit longer on the way back uphill. All the tavernas are excellent.

All the local people are super friendly.

I didn't hire a car as I wanted to discover the area by walking and taking the public transport. It's very easy to use the busses and again everyone was very helpful. The organisation at Chania bus station is quite impressive...

I can only say a big THANK YOU STELLA!
