"Beautiful & peaceful yoga retreat "
I had a very enjoyable and relaxing week at ZenZem in Crete. I stayed in the garden studio room, which had a small kitchen area and bathroom. It was attached to the main house but with a separate entrance so felt very private. You have access to the garden, which has an incredible view of the White Mountains.
We did yoga twice a day at 9.30am and 6.30pm. There is an indoor yoga studio and a garden space for yoga too. The morning lessons were one-on-one and the evening lessons were groups with local people. We also did a morning walking meditation at the ancient city of Aptera, an evening meditation and sunrise yoga at the Aptera Fortress. Stella is a great yoga teacher and she will adapt the lessons depending on what you want to do.
In between the yoga sessions you have all day to do what you want. ZenZem is in a small village so if you want to see lots of sights or beaches then you might want to rent a car. There is a mini mart and restaurants about a 10 minute walk away. You can walk to a bus stop in about 15 minutes, where you can get the bus to various places including Chania. You can walk down to a secluded pebble beach in about 20-30 minutes. The Aptera ruins and castle are also a 5 minute walk from the house.
Stella was very welcoming and made sure I was looked after. She provided food and water for me when I arrived and helped with bus times etc. I had a lovely week and I would definitely recommend this retreat!

"kleines und einfaches Retreat in zauberhafter Atmosphäre "
Stella ist ein besonderer, wundervoller Mensch, die es schafft, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Ihre Yogastunden sind abwechslungsreich und sie geht auch in der Gruppe individuell auf alle ein. Sie hat einen Ort mit einzigartiger Atmosphäre geschaffen.

First of all there are amazing view. In the summer you can make yoga even outside with view in the snowy mountains. Inside could training around 7 people. Stella is really nice person, very warm and spiritual. Her voice brings you in nice 1-1,5 hour trip. I'm sure if I'll visit Chania/Crete again, I'll come in Zen Zem Yoga
Stella is a unique yoga teacher one of a kind. Really gracefull, true, her light is blowing everywhere when you enter her place and the kind of yoga she makes gives the opportunity and the freedom to each one of you discovering his own needs...i never met this to any other yoga lesson i have attended before. I wish i could attend her classes but moved too far...but hope really meeting and attending her courses one day again-she is a real teacher and spiritual guide, living it and sharing it with love and attention. Her place also is an amazingly beautiful environment...with magnificent view and high energetical place near ancient aptera town. My best wishes for you!!!<3

December in Creta, that was a funny choice but I definitely do not regret it as per the 4 magic days spent at ZenZem. As of the first email exchanges with Stella, I could feel that she was really living what she was preaching. With Martin, they welcomed us like old friends and created a personalized yoga practice. Twice a day I could benefit form private and group classes, a mix of vinyasa flow and hata yoga I would say. But in reality I would rather call it " unique Stellar yoga". The yoga shala with the fire place is a must and the view from the garden is spectacular. The house is a few meters away from beautiful ruins and the village, although isolated has some good local restaurants. If you are looking for serious yoga classes in a peaceful environment surrounded by generosity and kindness, Zen Zem is definitely the place to go.
