"We just spent an amazing week at Zen Surf Camp! We had everything our heart could desire. From delicious local biological food such as vegetable couscous, meat and fish tagines and grammy Moroccan-Italian fusion desserts to great surf with waves of all sizes, relaxing yoga, the most beautiful sunsets ever seen from your seafront terrace as well as enriching exchanges with the friendly local people. "I spent a week of surfing, yoga and enjoying casa zen and the surroundings. it was exactly what i was looking for! peace, tranquillity, a safe and "home" feeling guest house. The team at casa zen made every effort to make me feel at home. Very kind warm hearted owners, great house, clean, yummy traditional tajine food (even made sure the vegetarians and non-gluten guests had enough to eat). I also met wonderful people/other guests."

"Surfing and yoga were great fun, good surf teachers, everyone spoke perfect English. "

"I really enjoyed it on the whole! thank you casa zen!!"

"The surf house is a villa at Banana Beach, the shared facilities (for two group rooms one of which I had on my own) were clean and the overall appearance of the place is really neat. What was really outstanding was the local food prepared by a Moroccan cook, tajines and couscous, and - vegan - pancakes with amlou, I will certainly continue to eat that home in Paris in good memories. Nicolas and Tamara are welcoming and friendly, they would help us with everything we needed. Yet there is none of the usual pretentious "hangin' out at the surf camp" attitude."

"“Relaxing stay at the end of the season”"

"I honestly had a very, very good week here. In mid May I somewhat hit the end of the season so we were only few people at the surf house and the surf guiding was for the three to four of us and highly enjoyable. We all brought some experience and made considerable progress during the few days we surfed. The waves - beach next to Devil's Rock - were mostly surfable for at least a few hours and the coach helped us find good times and breaks. The "Moroccan whiskey" mint tea was a local feature on the beach although the vendors can become slightly annoying after a while."

"“Exactly what I hoped for: welcoming, relaxing and fun”"

"I spent a week at Zen Surf as a solo traveller in April 2016 and it was exactly what I'd hoped it would be: easy, relaxing, fun, active and full of lovely people. I shared a room with another guest for the first three nights - someone who I've stayed in contact with every since - and for the rest of my stay had one of the caravans. The shared rooms are quite small but you're so tired after a day of sun and surf that even a snoring companion isn't a problem! The caravan was the most romantic and idyllic place to stay - it felt very luxurious. The tagines each evening are wonderful, the food got better and better each day. And the owners and staff are lovely, very relaxed and very helpful. Yoga on the roof terrace very evening was the perfect way to stretch out after surfing and I really noticed an improvement in my ability over the week, helped I'm sure by the surf - the two activities really complement each other. The surrounding area is very calm and interesting - a taste of rural/small town Morocco rather than heavy tourism; I felt very welcome wandering around the local village on my own and two of us walking back to the house late at night felt completely safe. For a beginner, the surfing instruction was great and I really welcomed the daily setup - surfing all morning and collapsing on the beach with lunch and a book once I was tired. As the week went on we all found we had more energy and would surf all afternoon too. I came to Zen Surf on the recommendation of a colleague, and have since recommended it to several more people. I would have no doubts about going back."

So, even now a few month later, i get a happy feeling thinking of warmth, sun, surfing, calming down from my everyday-life, and just relax on the rooftop. After a day of surfing, it's so good to come home and to find a delicious meal on the table. Dear Tamara and Nico, I hope you are in luck with a healthy child and I try to visit your place once again. Thanks! "

"It was my first time in Morocco and I have to say that it was amazing. I went to this beautiful country for surfing and I decided to stay at Zen surf Morocco Surf and yoga camp, right in front of the ocean. The camp is wonderful and I really enjoyed spending my time here. This is a perfect place where to go on holiday. The meals are typically Moroccan, really delicious and very abundant as well. The owners, Nicolas and Tamara, are very nice, kind and helpful and they will be able to give you all the information you need. I also spent a sunset surf session with Nicolas at Banana point, the surf spot just in front of the house, and we had a lot of fun. During the free time you can have yoga lessons which are really relaxing for the mind and body. "

"I will surely go back to Morocco and spend my time at Zen surf Morocco Surf and yoga camp again. I really recommend it!"

"This was the third time that I traveled to Morocco and that I spent most of my time at Zen Surf. This is not because I do not like seeing knew things but because it is a wonderful sensation to feel at home as soon as you step through the front door of this beautiful, colorful, and clean Morrocan house, being welcomed by the two cute dogs of the owners as well. "

"This place is not only situated perfectly to surf all of the famous spots around Aourir but also to go to places further away like Immesouanne or Mirleft. So you can make sure that something knew is to be discovered there all the time. "

"The already very high standard of the house and the staff has been improving even more with delicious mint-tea and other things being served all day long and with the beautiful yoga-terrace where you can also hang out in the sun after returning from a session full of perfect Moroccan waves. "

"Tamara, Nico and their friends will try to help you with every problem that might come up and have very good advice, be it about surf spots, about other places to go, or just about going to the souk and buying exotic wares."

"Even though I've been traveling quite some time all around this planet, this is one of the places I love the most and to which I will always come back."

Especially loved the great food and eating with a nice bunch of people (some of whom already feel like family) at the long table, the nice apartments and terrace with a view of the beach and sea, surfing of course (still need to practice a lot so might be back soon), doing yoga on the terrace at sunset with a view of the beach and hearing the birds in the trees,...It's the perfect way to get some sun in the winter! Also there is no need to worry about anything as all the great food including fresh fruit is provided, so I could focus on doing sports, reading, chatting to nice people, sleeping! "The view from the terrace, a tea in the courtyard, and the lovingly furnished rooms and apartments make you feel exactly the right place to be. The freshly prepared delicious Moroccan dinner which one takes with the other house guests rounds off the day. Surfing with coach at nearby spots was a lot of fun. Yoga in the evening at sunset with Tamara on the roof terrace is very relaxing and highly recommended. In the small family surf camp, I learned very quickly with the other guests and nice friendships. With Nico and Tamara I felt very well. They are very good hosts and a holiday in their "oasis" I can only recommend . I'll definitely be back ."

"I stayed here in the end of December. Zen Surf is a great place to spent your holiday. No matter if you are a beginner or experienced surfer or even non surfer. The place has a great vibe. A lovely roof terrace where you can check the waves, relax, do yoga, or enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset. There are 3 surf spots in front of the house (Douze, a reef break and Banana Point, an amazing right hander, and Banana Beach break). And of course there are plenty of other surf spots and beaches nearby. Tamara, Nico, and Gabor are incredible friendly and alway happy to help. Houssein , the surf instructor is great too. He gave me and the others really good tips and explaind everything really well. The food was amazing. Really good and healthy. I would visit this surf house again and can highly recommend it."

"We had a great week stay at Zen Surf Camp team with Nico, Tamara and brother Gábor. The room was perfect with beautiful views of the beach, nice living room, kitchen (equipped, but we did not need) patio, balcony and bathroom shared with one other room. The days were punctuated by surfing (at least 4 hours in the water every day, but obviously this is not compulsory and there are many other things to do and the team is available to help) yoga (very physical but at the same time relaxing, for beginners and experienced yogis!) and meals (breakfast made with egg or pancake, unlimited fruit, fresh orange juice, fresh Moroccan bread, jam, butter, paste almond / peanuts, honey, coffee and tea; vegetarian sandwich or ham, water and a beach fruit, plentiful and very good Moroccan evening meal with fruit for dessert; possibility to buy wine or beer, softdrinks , mint tea etc ...). The courses were rather referred for beginners but conditions on the well-selected tracks can even allow advanced to venture out alone without much risk. Only potential downside was the state of the beaches a bit dirty (after heavy rains prior to our arrival), but Zen Surf team's efforts quickly improved the problem. Great stay, recommend without hesitation."

"We have been there end of October. Unfortunately the weather conditions were not so good in the beginning but Nico took care so we could still find a place for surfing or have some alternative program. In general Nico and Tamara took care of us a lot. They picked us up from the bus, brought us there, brought us to the markets, helped us with tickets, prepared tasty Maroccan meals... it was great. The place is big enough to travel as a group and small enough to have a familiar feeling. There are places to gather and if you want some time for your own you can do so in your beautiful room. We even had an astonishing view to the sea. On the balcony of the second floor we spent some great evenings with the other guests watching amazing, almost fairy tale, sunsets and enjoying Maroccan tea and coffee. Absolutely recommendable location. I would like to go there again."

Man fhlt sich also rundum wohl.

Wegen mehrerer Steine aber eher was fr Fortgeschrittene. Also auf gehts zu Tamara (super Yoga Coach) und Nico!! Lasst die Seele baumeln und surft bis euch die Arme abfallen;-)"

"1. The Surf / Yoga - For beginners like we were, nice forgiving waves, all within close proximity, and great weather - half a day of cloud in two weeks. A couple of windy days though when it was preferable to watch the pros and read on the beach. Do not underestimate the yoga, if you've never done it before - it is a hard workout especially at the end of a day of surf, but you can really feel the benefit (and hear the benefit, bones clicking / crunching etc)."

"2. The Food - Wow. Substantial, healthy and really Moroccan. Breakfast really sets you up for the day, the Moroccan pancakes especially (I recommend chopped banana with the nutella-Argan oil mix, all rolled up - mmm). Some amazing tangines for dinner - favourite was calamari, closely followed by goat. Soaking up the juices with bread at the end of the meal was very therapeutic. And beers are available to buy (in-house) to wash it all down with, which was a nice surprise. All very satisfying after a hard day of surf and a killer yoga session."

"3. The Hosts - Nico and Tamara. They personify Zen, somehow managing to remain Zen-like while running around all day looking after everyone. So accommodating and welcoming and jolly nice people!"

"I stayed with Zen Surf Morocco from the 3rd 10th January and loved every minute of it. It was the perfect way to spend the first week of the New Year. I was welcomed as soon as I arrived, and the gracious hospitality never faltered from Tamara and Nico. Although it is a reasonably new retreat the two have done well to make it a success and provide a friendly atmosphere for the many different customers they have coming through the doors.I had originally come here for the yoga, having never surfed before but quickly caught the bug. This was heightened by the friendly yet attentive manners of the surfing coaches. Tammy provides an excellent yoga routine that compliments the surfing well. It was a lovely experience to watch the sunrise over Banana Beach during the outdoor morning yoga session (all be it a little chilly!)"

"The set up allows for you to integrate well with fellow guests and I loved coming together in the morning and evenings for a real authentic Moroccan feast, with every food and dietary requirement catered for by Tammy and the cooks.Just writing this makes me want to be back there and I will be sure to visit again as soon as I can!"

"My 11 year old daughter and I stayed with Tamara and Nico over New Year and had one of the best New years days ever - a long relaxing day on a warm beach with attentive surf coach who made my little girl feel safe and motivated on her first attempts at surfing followed by a nicely led yoga class and lovely, authentic Moroccan food at the long dining table with good company. The house is relaxed and friendly, the food is fabulous, and Nico and Tamara are gentle and gracious hosts who managed to hold a cozy and vibrant atmosphere without being ostentatious themselves. We experienced 3 different surf instructors in the one week stay and all were kind and attentive to safety and committed to getting my daughter up on her board. A great deal of effort was put into finding the best location for beginners each day as well as advising experienced surfers on where to catch the conditions they were after. Banana beach is right outside the door and has its own rough beauty,I enjoyed the small town of Aourir where the house is located precisely because it is not really developed as a tourist town. I went as a non-surfer and overall had a great time and would recommend Zen Surf House to anyone who wants a relaxed fun and safe environment where surfing is enjoyed to the full and which offers really good value too."

"We found Zen Surf Morocco online while looking for a nice, chill alternative to the party-surf scene. It delivered - owners Nico and Tamara were amazing hosts, picking us up and giving us a nice tour of the area, later driving us around to the hammam and helping us get tickets to Marrakesh. The other guests were all nice folks there to surf, do yoga, and relax. The place is right off the beach about a five minute walk from town. The rooms were fine, nice seaside views from upstairs, good internet. Our only complaint was that the lower courtyard room we had half the time, although probably nicely cool in the summer, was a bit cold in January. The food was a highlight - three meals included in the price and we ate like kings the whole week. They were also accommodating to vegetarians. Unfortunately I got a cold the day after arriving and was unable to surf, but there are a variety of different spots nearby ranging from beginner to more advanced, as well as an awesome swimming hole at Paradise Valley 40 minutes away in the Atlas foothills. The town is pretty unremarkable, and aside from a lively Wednesday open air market there isn't much to do, which is fine because you're exhausted from surfing / yoga / hammam. Zen Surf gets high marks, they really go out of there way to make you feel welcome, and offer a great experience at a very good price."

"You have 2 very good spots in front of the house, one right that works at low tide and one left that works at high tide, so you can basically surf all day without having to take a car or anything. This is just the perfect location if you want to surf! Plus the food was delicious and our hosts, Nico & Tamara were worderful. My wife also really enjoyed the yoga sessions to release the tension after our surf sessions."

"This is the perfect place for anyone who doesn't look for the mainstream. Perfect location on the beach (not like other camps), excellent price/value ration, very yum food (ask for the goat and chicken tagine), and above all very caring hosts. Just let them know what kind of holiday you want and they try to make it happen. Great surf instructor (personalised!) and yoga teacher."
