This location is just 15 minutes outside of Luang Prabang by car. And you need a car if you want to stay here because their is nothing else than looking outside to the nature.

We had our own car so I don't know how to get around otherwise because we didn't check this. The villa/cabin we had was the end of the resort even crossing a large bamboo bridge which is giving you a real jungle feeling. The cabin has got one big room and a bathroom. But the best thing is the large balcony with views on the river and mountains. Bed is comfortable and it is completely quit outside. The swimming pool has also great views but i was to cold to go in. It probably is a nature swimmingpool because the bottom was also getting green... Swimming pool is at the restaurant. Staff is friendly and they make good simple dishes. Through the website we expected a real zen/yoga resort but this was not the case. It is a nice and good nature resort but don't expect to much yoga vibe.. (At least not in January) We didn't mind because we liked the remote feeling. We also did the kayak tour (from the resort) over the river and this was a really nice 4 hour trip. We enjoyed it.

The location of this hotel was great. The ambiance was quite special too - you are able to watch the extremely busy street from the comfort of al fresco dining "street side"; or, relax in the cool haven that is the dining room, courtyard cafe or your room. The style of the hotel invokes beautiful facades, large and very old magnolia trees, Carrera ceilings, and an elegant wooden staircase with wood paneling throughout the hotel. My husband said that this was his favorite hotel - ever. We will definitely be back.

Stayed for 3 nights in May at the start of my stay in Laos. The resort is set about 30 minutes outside Luang Prabang in the jungle of Laos. When you book there are great perks to booking direct such as their free pick-up service, treks, classes etc so check out their website. I was so lucky to have the resort to myself and felt completely spoilt. The owners couldnt do enough to make my stay comfortable and friendly.I would point out that although the wooden villas are extremely comfortable and well equipped, there is no air con and you do need to sleep under mosquito nets. If spiders, moths and general bugs are not your thing you might want to think twice. It also involves short walks up and down slopes/steps so those with mobility issues should be aware. This is a great place to relax and do as much or as little as you want in stunning surroundings. I did yoga each morning for an hour and cannot think of a better way to start the day overlooking incredible scenery. Evening meals offered a good variety and were very reasonably priced. A wonderful start to my stay in Laos.

This place was very peaceful with helpful staff and great food. If you are considering I would highly recommend spending 2 or 3 nights in town and then when you want to get out of the town come here for 2 or 3 nights. The one downside of this place is that it can be difficult to get to town and they will take you town for free sometimes but only when they go, which sometimes is only every 2 or 3 days. Great place, but would recommend stay a few days in town then a few days here.

A nice change from the cityOverall my husband and I had such a nice visit here and would recommend this to friends. They advertised it as perfect for a honeymoon but when someone moved into the villa right next to us you could even hear him cough. Not sure what happens on your honeymoon. A few things could help enhance the already overall wonderful stay: would have been nice on our balcony to have an outdoor sofa or hammock. Ours just had 2 stiff back chairs and a table. We had the villa room called Serenite. It included air-con in the room with the bed. The view was spectacular which is wise to remember binoculars possibly. Had a huge amount of indoor and outdoor space that we didn't necessarily need (only 2 of us) but enjoyed nonetheless. No bathtub, which they have plenty of room to put one but the shower was pretty cool as it was mainly outdoors. Wildlife is easy to get in room, huge spider near toilet which is fine as your'e up in the mountains. A good little trek from room to pool and meal area but I don't mind a bit of exercise even 6 months pregnant. Very cool was hearing the elephants outdoors as many tour company's are nearby. There staff was overall helpful even if at times a sense of confusion but always got figured out. We really enjoyed Mr. Wan.

We've spent two nights in the Plentitude riverside bungalow. We looked for a break inbetween our travelling and we've found it at this fantastic place! We benefitted from the special offer including the elefant day, breakfast and free pickup in Luang Prabang. This offer is great value and very worth the money. All booked via email and worked perfectly. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Plenitude is quite far away from the reception and restaurant and only reachable by rope bridge. For us this was perfect! You're completely on your own and have a great view over the Namkhan River. The spacious bungalows are very clean and include a outdoor shower. Anyone complaining about insects and anmials just forget where they are. It's in the bush,in the middle of nowhere. That's what it makes special. Another speciality of the resort is their eco pool. This is fantastic! Very naturally melted with the suroundings and so nice to bath in it. We've spent two days by bathing and doing nothing and were full of energy to travel on.Thanks for the nice stay!

We really enjoyed the Zen Namkhan Resort. The owner/hosts could not be more helpful and pleasant. We chose a big cabin overlooking the river with no air-conditioning. So picture overhead fan, mosquito net over the bed, windows and doors open to the huge balcony and mountain range beyond. Just lovely to wake up to the sound of the garden and forest outside. The food at the restaurant was beautiful as well and very reasonably priced.
