During this holiday, you will be accommodated in Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat, a panoramic and secluded retreat center overlooking the Conondale Valley and the mountains beyond. The temperate climate there allows beautiful gardens to flourish, bringing in prolific birdlife and fauna.

Kintamani Room

The Kintamani Room has a single bunk on top and a double bed on the bottom and has an ensuite bathroom. It is for a maximum of two people.

Uluwatu Room

The Uluwatu room has a single bunk on top and a double bed on the bottom. It is for a maximum of two people. Two single guests may share the bunk room. The Ubud and Uluwatu rooms share a large bathroom with twin vanities and a separate toilet.

The Ubud Room

The Ubud room has two single beds. It is for a maximum of two people.

The Garden Rooms

There are 2 garden rooms, each with a single bed. It is for a maximum of one person in each room. The Garden rooms share a large bathroom.

Retreat location

This retreat will take place in Wootha, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, nearby Maleny and Montville. The Hinterland has many beautiful drives, walks, parks, and waterfalls. It is a very popular bed and breakfast location for the Brisbane market.

The famous Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is nearby. The area is very beautiful, a lovely way to start any international holiday commencing in Brisbane. There is one acre of gardens where birds, wallabies, and koalas live.

Food

Sustainable eating as practiced by residents along the Silk Road

for over a thousand years. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are mindfully prepared.

If you have a food intolerance, please discuss this with Zen Buddhist and Yoga Retreat, they may be able to work together depending on your allergies. All meals are vegetarian, however, vegan and gluten-free can be catered for when notice has been given. Please ensure you advise Zen Buddhist and Yoga Retreat of your dietary requirements at least 7 days prior to your arrival, with thanks.

Gluten-free guests are required to bring along their own preferred bread products. Gluten-free cereal in the morning is provided. They serve soya milk for vegans and dairy-free guests.

Your Dietary Requirements

  • If you are vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free, Zen Buddhist requires a minimum of 1 week's notice ​prior to your arrival to ensure we have the products for you at hand.
  • Gluten-free guests are required to bring along their own preferred bread products.
  • Gluten-free and dairy-free guests, please advise if products that say "May contain....." is a problem. Some people have severe reactions to these ingredients, other guests have a minimal reaction, and some guests have made an eating choice with no reactions at all.
  • Dairy-free guests - Zen Buddhist can supply soy milk or lactose-free milk. If your preferred milk is something else, please bring this with you.
  • Other allergies; you can advise of your allergies and they may be able to conform but not in all instances.

Zen Buddhist and Yoga Retreat apologizes in advance if your allergy causes anaphylactic shock, due to their remote location, they feel it would be irresponsible to accept you as a guest at The Zen Centre. Thank you for your understanding.

Driving directions

From the M1 take the Steve Irwin Way and turn into Landsborough and continue towards Maleny. Turn left at Mountain View Road. At the end of Mountain View Road, turn left onto Maleny-Stanley River Road. Drive 5 kilometers then turn right into Policeman Spur Road. Drive 1 kilometer and turn right into Boundary Lane, you will see their sign.

Arrival by airplane

Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat does not offer airport transfer. There is a company that can do an airport transfer into Maleny for 90 AUD one way (and then Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat would pick you up at no cost from Maleny).

The best option from Brisbane Airport (BNE) is to catch the train to Landsborough train station. Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat can do a pick up from Landsborough train station.

Arrival by train/bus

Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat can arrange a free pick-up from Maleny if you are traveling by train/bus. There is a bus link (#891) from the Landsborough train station that will bring you up the hill to Maleny.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
