Have you ever just sat quietly in the morning listening to the sounds of nature and allowing the beauty of it all to seep into your very soul? Practising noble silence regularly, will allow you to feel more and more of nature living its life as it surrounds you.
The art of noble silence can permeate your life bringing you to a state of inner peace and tranquillity, opening the mind’s eye to the understanding of life. Silence, stillness and introspection and time in the now, this is something we rarely allow ourselves, if ever. This retreat will focus on the gaining of emotional contentment and finding the inner silence that lies within us all.
It allows time for introspection for clarity of mind to give the answers to the questions in our life an opportunity to arise. This retreat is open to all people, however it is recommended that you have had some sort of retreat experience. The teaching subjects given by our Zen Master Fushin on this retreat are of more advanced concepts in their nature and it would be advisable but not a requirement for participants to have some sort of background in Zen or Buddhism understanding.
During this holiday, you will be accommodated at the Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat, a panoramic and secluded retreat center overlooking the Conondale Valley and the mountains beyond. The temperate climate allows beautiful gardens to flourish, bringing in prolific birdlife and fauna.
The Kintamani Room has a Suzie bunk bed (double on the bottom and a single on top) with its own bathroom. It is for a maximum of two people.
The Uluwatu room has a single bunk on top and a double bed on the bottom. It is for a maximum of three people. Two single guests may share the bunk room. The Ubud and Uluwatu rooms share a large bathroom with twin vanities and a separate toilet.

This retreat is designed to promote clarity and well-being in body, mind and spirit and help you achieve a feeling of peace of mind with a focus on finding a state of stillness and silence within. Your day will start at 7 a.m. and finish around 9 p.m. All accommodation, vegetarian meals, and teachings are included in the retreat price.
The Zen Centre’s silent retreat program is led by qualified and experienced program leaders both of Australian Nationality. The yoga and yoga meditation program is led by Rosalie Allan a qualified yoga teacher trained to International Yoga Alliance standards with meditation certification. All Zen knowledge is imparted from our resident Ordained Zen Master, Fushin Daijo Yin Chao.
All the programs are designed to be of as much benefit to the individual student as possible, for this reason, Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat keep the participant numbers to only six per program. Guest arrival is on the Friday, anytime after 2 p.m.
Rose has been studying yoga, meditation, and massage therapy for over 30 years. She believes in keeping the practice gentle, yet challenging, using her knowledge of both the physical and psychological self.
Fushin began his practice of meditation in the late 1970s and the study of Buddhism in the late 1990s. Ordained as a Zen Buddhist priest, he brings to the program 40 years of knowledge and understanding.
This retreat will take place in Wootha, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, nearby Maleny and Montville. The Hinterland has many beautiful drives, walks, parks, and waterfalls. It is a very popular bed and breakfast location for the Brisbane market.
The famous Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is nearby. The area is very beautiful, a lovely way to start any international holiday commencing in Brisbane. There is one acre of gardens where birds, wallabies, and koalas live.

If you require special dietary requirements, due to our caterer's requiring extra cost to prepare one off meals, there is an additional fee of 30 AUD. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring along your own alternative foods - these can be stored in the fridge and there is a microwave for heating up.

There is a train station at the Brisbane International Airport (BNE) that you can catch to Landsborough Train Station (the north line). The travel time is around 1.5 hours and the cost is around 30 AUD one way. The organizer can arrange a pick up from the Landsborough train station.
Zen Buddhist & Yoga Retreat can arrange a free pick-up from Maleny if you are travelling by train / bus. There is a bus link (#891) from the Landsborough train station that will bring you up the hill to Maleny.
