"The location couldn't have been more perfect, and it was a beautiful environment to wake up in everyday and practice yoga. For me, the whole retreat experience was a very welcome pause from the crazy pace of modern day life, leaving me renewed and inspired, and able to reconnect with myself. The joint expertise of Anne-Marie and James meant that the twice daily sessions were wonderfully varied and balanced.", edited

"I have just returned from the Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing's yoga retreat in the Maldives. There could not have been a more idyllic environment in which to practise yoga and meditation looking out over the white sandy beach and the turquoise sea! As ever, Anne-Marie and James were excellent hosts and teachers providing a more energising meditation and yoga practice in the morning and a more restorative class in the evening. I really experienced the benefit of twice daily classes and meditation and although I am not the most flexible person I definitely felt a marked improvement in my asanas. I took the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful facilities at the Barefoot Resort for an extra few days after the retreat and can honestly say that I can’t remember the last time I felt so relaxed and refreshed after a holiday. Thank you Anne-Marie and James for a wonderful retreat and if you want to give yourself some well deserved time to restore mind, body and spirit then I can wholeheartedly recommend this retreat.", edited

"The Yorkshire Centre for wellbeing truly deserves a 5* rating. Both Anne-Marie and James work very hard to ensure all classes are tailored to each individuals needs and fitness levels. They also adapt their classes to help people who may have injuries...allowing them to still benefit from the classes they offer but in a safe manner. As a qualified physiotherapist I find this extremely reassuring. Both Anne-Marie and James have an excellent knowledge of yoga and Pilates and their yoga retreats both in the U.K and abroad are fantastic. They provide the perfect setting for a holistic therapy approach."

"I attended this Centre for the first time over the New Year for an Ayurvedic Yoga Retreat. As a clinical psychologist, I take self-care very seriously and this was the perfect start to 2016! Anne-Marie, James and Chris were welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, with extensive training in yoga, pilates, and Ayurvedic theory and practice. They were happy to share their learning and I came away with a number of tips and tricks to maintain health and wellbeing; some of which I hope to pass on, in turn, to my clients. The yoga studio itself is a wonderful and well-equipped space. What more can I say? I will be back!"

"This bank holiday weekend I joined Anne-Marie, James and Chris at their home for my first Yoga Retreat. What a joy it was! Such a warm welcome: reassurance, individual attention and wonderful food. The yoga and meditation were good too! The classes catered for all levels of ability - from inexperienced (like me) to students who have been yogis for years. We learnt about, and lived, as far as possible, an Ayurvedic life during the retreat, and the knowledge I gained has given me such insight into how I can continue to modify my lifestyle and eating habits to become healthier, happier and fitter without feeling I am being punished. It is notable that having been prescribed a high dose of SSRI anti depressant/anti anxiety drugs for over 20 years, plus beta blockers and painkillers, I am now free of the pain killers and beta blockers, and have so far reduced the SSRI by half - I expect to be free of them in a couple of months. I've only been able to do this through accessing the classes and support."

"Since leaving you all on Sunday I have been digesting the wonderful weekend. From the initial warm welcoming smiles with the offer of delicious energy balls (hedgehogs)! It was a weekend full of knowledge, laughter, mind and body connection and a chance to learn how to really start loving myself. The peaceful meditations, the Ayurvedic seminar, the yoga practices, the massage, the food, the walking in the garden, the talking, the chill out time in the snug. The list goes on! I cant thank you enough for giving all of this and more. With the tools you have equipped me with I have learnt how to give time to myself and how important it is to let things just be'. Thank you from a very big, warm heart!"

"Fantastic day! I have done yoga and meditation before but as two different things, but today has been one of the best experiences because of the combination of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, crystals, etc. The whole day was continuously informative; I havent felt so relaxed in years. Even if we could live part of our lives with the information you have given us it would be 100% better!"

"Anne-Marie and James are beautiful souls who took us on a journey of Ayurveda Yoga. The knowledge and wisdom they both possess is incredibly enlightening. Not having such an interest in the spiritual side of yoga Anne-Marie taught us to be open even if we are not willing to accept. By the end of the trip I think everyone had gained some insight into their spiritual side and by the guidance of the teacher have learnt to love the whole of oneself and everything about them. This has been an amazing trip where everyone grew. I would come back every year if they were here."
