Join the Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing on their May Bank holiday retreat. Begin the spring with a new awareness, set your intentions with a renewed sense of vigor and rejuvenation, ultimately leading to vibrant health and peace of mind, and relax in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate. You will learn about Ayurveda, the principle that health is more than merely the absence of disease but rather a dynamic integrated state of balance in body, mind and spirit, and everything including your body type- known as dosha is connected to the environment.
During the retreat, you will be staying in a large, spacious comfortable, and beautifully appointed home, only 5 minutes walk from the renowned Valley Gardens and 10 minutes walk into Harrogate.
There are 3 large shared rooms that can accommodate up to 3 people ( but usually only 2 people per room ) and 2 single rooms on site, with another three single rooms just off site. In the house, there is a large dining room, two lounges, and spacious gardens for guests to enjoy.
You will be guided through a unique personalized Ayurvedic and yoga style practice in the morning with a more dynamic, Hatha flow class incorporating pranayama, chakra balancing and meditation. The afternoon practice will be more restorative and yin-based with meditation and yoga Nidra. In all sessions there will be an emphasis on alignment, posture and on each individual's specific needs with suitable variations given for any particular issues such as back, neck or joint issues or other health issues.
